The water went off twice in the space of 12 hours and was always one temperature, lukewarm. Things either did not work or were taped together -- the wall fan, the shower head (shower and toilet were one small space). No Wifi in room as promised. One small light bulb covered with some sort of paper, a queen and single bed, nowhere to hang clothes. It felt like a shanty but cost almost as much as my quality lodging in Chetumal. Taxis are the only mode of transfer from town to the Casa, which became pricey.
Mario, co-owner, and Daniele, reception, were always helpful and welcoming. The lagoon is beautiful and excellent for swimming distances. Mario made a fire to celebrate the new moon. Purified water, Internet, use of common refrigerator in the lobby where Daniele played Indian music and sometimes lit incense.
