Great location - awesome view Front desk is very helpful Rooms are colorful and very clean breakfast at Casa Valdez was very much delicious
Problem of hot water exists at night. Intercom is not present at room. The hotel is completely dependent on funicular service which is active between 9-10 on weekdays and 10-9 on Sunday. No restaurant attached with the hotel
View Clean room Good staff
Path right outside my terrace, no privacy at all, so why pay for the terrace then, not worth the extra money. Path had construction going from 10 pm to 7 am, terrible noise so didn't get any sleep. Funicular stops operating at 9:30 pm, so either pay for a taxi or risk getting mugged as you walk up the alleys. Would of been nice if staff would of told me this. Entrance to the hotel is hard to find at night, me and the wife walked around for a while looking for it the first night which is ok but there were some shaky looking people around and it was 3 am, not being paranoid either, I'm actually from Silva Guanajuato which is 1 hour away so I know how much crime goes on in my state. Let the travelers know these things. Don't buy the breakfast, not good at all.
location and facilities. View from the room
The room is little bit cold
The hotel is almost the only one @ Pipila hill, the beautiful view of Guanajuato is just beforehand like a painting! The tram down to city center is free if you stay here. We stay on the balcony, and feel it's the best place to experience the city! highly highly recommend!
-the staff (very friendly and helpful) -the view from hotel room terrace which can't be beat anywhere else -price -cleanliness
-noise from doorbell could be heard throughout night (they lock front door) on first floor (we were in Rm 2) -noisy guests could be heard when then enter/check in late at night on first floor rooms -noise from nearby churchbells go off every 15min starting at 6am - no hot water if one wants to shower at night or evening but hot water in AM
Great customer service at the front desk.
It had an awesome view right by 'el Pipila'
The funicular is at your fingertips. 1 minute away. AND included in your room rate. Upon checking out, the front desk helped us back up the steps with our luggage. MUCHO GRACIAS.
Couldn't find the entrance to the hotel right away. The clerk saw us pass by and came out to rescue us.
You can't beat the view you have of the city, the easy acess to the city via funicular, cleanliness of rooms.
The staff was very helpful. I was going to a wedding with my husband and he needed his pants ironed - we asked the front desk and they offered to iron it for free. We also needed a taxi at 4am the last day we were there and they also set it up for us without a problem. They give vouchers for breakfast at Cafe Valadez, very tasty authentic mexican breakfast. They also include cards for free rides up and down the funicular.
The only thing negative thing is that the rooms don't have A/C. I was aware before I booked the room though. Since you up on the mountain cliff though, you can open your balcony or window so the breeze can come in. You can also ask the front desk for a portable fan.
Position and the view was amazing
The shower was terrible water was either boiling or freezing and dribbled out of shower head. The room smelled of sewridge if you didn't keep the bathroom door closed. The bed and pillows were hard and old. No air conditioning or fridge in room. We borrowed a fan and it was so loud we couldn't get any sleep.
Interior finishes, cleaning agents smelled to strong
Amazing view of city! Very modern and new.
Everything overall was amazing. But problems with hot water in shower
- Great location with spectacular view of the city - very cozy rooms
the view of the hotel room
Perfect location, fantastic view
The view over the city of Guanajuato is absolutely outstanding! The pass for the funicular is a real plus. Take the $100MXN room upgrade to get an outstanding breakfast at Casa Valadez on the Jardin de la Union below.
The stairs down to the hotel from parking are a real strain - pack a light bag. While the rooms are very modern, the extremely hard beds are uncomfortable.
Amazing view, nice location, reasonably quiet, nice big room, great breakfast, and I appreciated the free tickets to the funicular
The wireless connection did not work.
The view, also that you can take the cablecar right to downtown. Get the breakfast, well worth it, it isn't at the hotel, but at lovely resteraunt downtown.
Hard to find, without a GPS we would still br looking. Lots of steps from the parking to the hotel, and it costs about $15 a day to leave your car in the parting lot.
Everything was stellar! I have stayed in various hillside hotels in Guanajuato and this one by far has the best view. Thank you BDC and Sandra for a great experience!
That we could't stay another night... :(
Amazing view over city, large, clean comfortable room. Complimentary pass for the funicular railway. Comfortable bed.
Parking is not on site, it's an arrangement with a car park nearby on the Panoramica, to the South of the Pipilia. There are many steps to get to the hotel from the car park, though it's a fairly level run from the Funicular Railway. Very few power points and none at the same end of the room where the Wifi was available. Asked about laundry charges but the receptionist had no idea what they would be. No heating for mid-winter. Room was huge but very sparsely furnished.
la panoramica que se puede ver desde su terraza
the room was comftable and clean
the access by the funicular or taxi only... because of security
Balcon del Cielo is a fantastic location. A modern funicular takes you to downtown Guanajuato en 10 minutes, and in 20 steps to the top of a mountain where you can see the whole city. I was amazed by the interior design, practical, functional, clean. Five stars for Balcon del Cielo !!
