Location good, pool clean, view wonderful, supermarket directly across the street, staff friendly and helpful. A comfortable and happy stay
the older man down stairs that ran it, he was the best. Really kind and very intentive
the beds are very, hard and the music down stairs at the bar was, way, way, way to loud, I ask if they would turn it down and they turned it up. the tile was all cracked around the back, they are letting it run down. There were offensive words written all over the bar, I can see a big decline in the bar and the people that work there. You need better mattress, they are hard as a rock, I stayed that for the last twenty years, I might move on
Location close to ferry and city center Basic hotel nice pool
Old - noisy A/c Old mattress
The million dollar view
The bed, the bedding, the shower, no hot water, only 2 bath towels, old T.V. old and rickety furniture, dangerous step into the bathroom, door to the balcony would not lock, the AC didn't work well in the afternoon with the West sun, bugs and dirt on the floor, poor lighting. I didn't like anything about the inside of the hotel room, it was horrible.
loved the pool bar. We are keen scuba divers so would have been very handy if we had time to go diving (unfortunately we didn't). Rooms aren't very modern but clean and comfortable.
the location and the little pier that you can snorkel in and swim was awesome!
far from the actual beach but def worth it
reasonably priced close to ferry close to Mega store every room has a great ocean view
easy to break in to doors and hotel not responsible for theft, no in-room safe pool closed without notice
Location was great. Man at front desk extremely helpful and friendly. Poolside staff great.
No help with baggage up 3 flights of stairs. Ton of bugs in room. Toilet wouldn't flush. Lady at front desk rude and unfriendly
The proximity to the ocean, the marina and the downtown. The gals at the no name bar are great, the food at the bar was great. Maybe the bar owner (not the same as the bhotel owner, should take over the entire property).
Rude staff, very hard beds, extremely poor propertyy maintenance, broken chairs and umbrellas all over the propetrty and staff just walks around them all day long. The pictures on the website do not reflect the truth. I don't usually complaint, I am a businessman and I try to be fair but this was ridiculous! Maybe time for a staff change. Property is situated perfectly downtown, but no owner/management interest at all!
This is a very clean hotel. Smack in the middle of town and ON THE WATER. Access to your dive boat is steps away. Access to the ocean is just a leap off the pier directly behind the hotel! There are restaurants on either side and a terrific "Super Target" like shopping plaza directly across the street. With foods and goods and brands you recognize. The hotel has a pool, bar, "Sandy" beach area, restaurant and dive shop. There is nothing fancy about The Barracuda but it is functional, clean and comfortable enough. With great air conditioning. Excellent value for a solo or group diver. And cruise ships pass your balcony every morning and afternoon, except Sunday! Excellent sunset view as you face directly west.
The beds, furniture, fixtures & plumbing are pretty dated. But everything is very clean and functional. If you're a diver you expect to rough it a bit. This by no means "roughing" it. But it is not a luxury experience. Definitely not for families with non-divers. But GREAT for groups of divers or solo divers. Who spend their days diving, eating and sleeping.
overall I am very happy with everything
noise pool side almost every day
The location is perfect. The ocean few is great. We were with a group of divers and it was perfect for us. We always had plenty of hot water
The bed covers need updating.
I'm trying hard to write anything positive about our stay at barracuda. The pool and the pool bar is pretty nice, good music all the time. In General the staff is very friendly!
Rooms are very dirty and dark, it's like sleeping with ants and cockroaches. There is a party bar close to the hotel, so that sleeping before 2am isn't possible. The price (90$US low season) for 1 night is way to high for this hotel. I would definitely stay far away from that hotel
Location is only 3 or 4 blocks from downtown. Easy walking distance to nightlife and resturaunts. Hotel has a nice pool, pool bar and the staff was very attentive.! Hotel is located right on the beach.
Mattresses could be replaced.
Location on water was great. Convienent to have grocery store across the street. Nice to have dive boat pick you up at Barracuda. Food was good at No Name Bar. Air conditioning worked great. Having a fan was nice, too.
Rooms definitely need updating. The sewer overflowing was not nice but they cleaned it up pretty quickly by washing it down the steps into the water. I didn't go near the steps again. The sheets were gross. Couldn't tell if it was a stain or just not washed. They need to invest in new sheets. While swimming, if you got too close to the edge of the pool it smelled like rotten food or sour milk. Parking the rental car was a bit of a hassle but it worked okay.
pool, pier , private 'beach', easy access to restaurants
a little higher priced than other hotels with better, newer rooms
Near the beach and the shopping street.
Extremely noisy nightclubs nearby (within a block) which plays music very loud into the early morning.
The location is great, cruise ship watching was great
On the last day my iPhone dissapered from my room!
the rooms are worn, the staff indifferent, no safeboxes in room and they charge you everytime you go to check or recheck a packet at the desk, the pool is rented out to a noisy bar and there are conflicts between the bar owner and hotel about who can sit where, at checkout was sternly reminded to leave tips for the staff, I booked an ocean room but was forced to spend my first two nights in a room facing the street, first because they were full and second because they did not want to move my bags and I was out diving.
location was good downtown
very loud mold in bathroom old beds very poor front desk staff
One desk clerk was nice and helpful.
Terrible service for food or drink on the deck. Food not very well prepared. One rude desk clerk. General run down building and facilities.
The outdoor facilities and location are fantastic! Fun place to stay.
The rooms need major updating!!! They are stuck back in the 70s
Staff was extremely rude. Rooms was dirty, sheets was dirty, towels was dirty.. bad experience.
Nothing. The entire description of the motel and it's amenities was a total lie. We didn't even have a lock on our door. Plus, when we checked out, they had charged more money to our credit card.
They never cleaned our room the whole time we were there. They made the bed & that was it. They didn't clean the bathroom, the floors, nothing. They didn't even leave clean towels.
Bar, pool, ocean pool, helpful staff.
Hard beds, old linen, noisy aircon she it rained the roof dropped on the aircon - a bit like Chinese water torture all night.
