Quiet and clean little Hotel just 2 blocks for the main street. Staff is really good. Good place to relax while reading a book in your hammock, because there's no TVs or extra hassle. From reception you get all the help you need and they can book you trips for good prices.
WiFi was slow and worked only time to time. Rooms could be more soundproofed.
friendly, helpful staff clean, quiet room safe complex
no pool (but it's a-OK! great place still)
It was satisfactory for what we wanted.
The location, the size of the hotel, the internal garden and the decoration/ambiance in general. The hotel has potential if they take care of it a bit more.
The smell of the room was very bad and also the sewer system in the bathroom was smelling a lot. The bedsheets were old with stains and they were provided only 2 big towels which were also old with stains. We did not have any towel for hands/face and when we asked they didn't provide us.
Breakfast included although continental but nice.
Neighborhood was noisy at night with loud music well into the night.
The location is perfect, next to the city center and the beach. Very beautiful and clean rooms with good facilities. Very good wifi connection. They offer free basic breakfast which was ok. The staff were all kind and extremely helpful, especially the receptionist who works in the morning gave us detailed information about everything!
The staff were superb in going above and beyond to make sure our stay at the hotel was not only wonderful but also that we had a good time in Playa (they gave us very good advice and tips on where to go and what to do). Comfortable, very reasonable price, we were planning on hopping around to different hotels but we liked it so much here that we stayed the whole week!
Great location, close to the beach. Great staff.
If your looking for a nice hotel with friendly staff and a good bed to sleep in, look no further. This is it. Facilities are basic, with a simple continental breakfast and a bathroom which is not very luxurious. But it all works, including WiFi.
-Great location, close to 5th, colectivo stand. -Staff were nice, specially the morning staff at front desk. - fridge in room -a hammock at front of room (better if 2 hammocks) -a free continental breakfast (even just 1-2 types pastries, no taste coffee and very sweet sugar taste orange juice)
-No microwave or a way to warm up leftover food. -Shower pressure was awful. -Strong breach smell after house keeping -Continental breakfast (included) needs one more item such us "cut fruits" "fresh fruit juice" "sliced ham and cheese". -A very noisy bar next door played loud music and annoying MC till 2am or later. (2nts out of our 3nts stay) -No blanket provided. -Only one bath towel per person, no hand towels or beach towels.
The staff is amazing and so helpful, the location is perfect, the environment is cozy and we always felt very safe and taken care of. We even decided to come back when we were going to stay in another city because we liked this hotel so much!!
Rooms were nice and clean, Andrea (the host) is very kind and you feel very welcome there!, hammocs for the rooms are very chill. Breakfast is basic but does still a good job under the 'Palapa'
The breakfast is really too poor, there is no fruits no bread.
I liked everything, it is clean, in a perfect position, and the people working there amazing, they helped us a lot. I saw the other hotels around and I was glad to stayed at Barrio Latino.
Kind staff, good location , clean and reasonable price
Great quiet location still near the beach and 5th avenida. Super clean and really comfy huge king bed and pillows. In a Superior room on second floor, the ones on the ground floor may be disturbed by music from the breakfast area from 8am, not sure... All in all a great hotel and so cheap. Continental breakfast included in rates too.
Staff, Location, Comfort in rooms,
For the price guests are paying they should have purified water to drink in the rooms free of charge, this should be part of the service,One bottle is 12 pesos, First time they charge this in a hotel.
Close to the beach, restaurants, shopping and collectivos. Lovely courtyard. Rooms very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Loved the hammock outside the room.
The hotel staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. We got the check-out time mixed up and ended up being two hours late to check-out, but the staff were very polite. Breakfast was included, and was quite nice. The layout of the hotel is very cool, with an open roof for trees to grow out, and hammocks to nap on outside your hotel room. The hotel is located conveniently within walking distance to a park where we saw some of the Carnival dances and festivities, and it is also within walking distance to the beach and main strip of stores (there are A LOT of stores and restaurants). There is even a nice outdoor mall plaza, and we actually saw a reenactment of the "Mayan Rain dance". All in all, a pleasant stay at the Hotel Barrio Latino! :)
The hotel is an adult-only hotel, which was not an issue for us but may be for families wishing to stay in the area. There is also not TV in the hotel, but there is WI-FI.
very authentic Mexican and super clean! Beds and pillows excellent! The hammocks are a nice touch, we both enjoyed a snooze! I would recommend for short stays, good location as in close to beach and 5th avenue.
Needed hand towels and bath mat, floors were very slippery!
Liked everything. Starting from the staff, nice, gentle and willing to help you about anything. The room was clean, confortable. The atmospehere and the vibe of the place was amazing. Useful breakfast, perfect location steps away from "la quinta". Definitely worth the value!
Clean good location helpful staff felt safe
Bathroom was not really separated from the room
Great location, easy to find, easy to get out in the town. Breakfast is more than enough for a busy day at the ruins or on the beaches. The stand-out is the staff. Overly generous with recommendations on places to visit and how to get there, beaches north and south of Playa and non-touristic restaurants which stand out from the rest. All in all a very good experience.
generally a really nice feel to it, very helpful staff
