Friendly people, nice hostel. Location not fantastic in that it was away from all the beaches but nice to feel that you are in the "real" Mexico with a fantastic & cheap restaurant nearby selling authentic yucutan food. Note that this is central cancun, not the hotel zone near the beaches (which is a good 30 min away). Drive to puerto Juarez to catch the ferry to Isla mujeres was cheap & quick. We were just there for the night & went to Isla mujeres for the day, so overall we were satisfied (although we paid too much).
Bit overpriced for what you get (we paid about a 1/4 of the price for a private room at a nicer place in playa del carmen). Shower wasnt hot.
We stayed at this b and b for 3 nights in a single room with private bath. Paid roughly $65 dollars a night. For the price, it was just not worth it. The room smelled like sewer. Never any hot water. The toilet never flushed. The mini fridge actually didn't close right so we had to push it against the wall to shut it. The shower looked like it had never been cleaned. The ceiling fan was hanging on by a small wire and looked as if it would fall at any moment. The breakfast consisted of cereal with room temperature milk and nasty coffee. Staying in the bunk room here for $11 a night might be a better option if you have no where else to go.
Partying outside our room which was adjacent To the dining room no consideration for us sleeping
Garden Breakfast Room (Cottage)
Not the cleanest but clean enough. The sheets and towels were washed but old.
Quiet location but only 2' to mercado 28 which is great!
Security was poor, people sneaked in at night and slept in the private room next to ours and the staff didn't notice.
Abigail is really friendly, she made breakfast for us, nice atmosphere
Who did the photos of the place is a genius. Everything looks much more spoiled. I'm still in pain everywhere they have bed bugs, we didn't sleep at all. Other random big insects in the bathroom..but we understand is Mexico. Too hot, beds covered with plastic, really sweaty. I'm sorry but not recommend.
staff is amazing the cleaning is awesome too pretty good
I have been using Booking.com for the last 3 years. I travel a lot and of course there were times when you reach an hotel and its not quite what you expect or have seen in the picture of the web but this time I take my time to write and claim that not only this bed and breakfast was officially closed by the law but also the whole experience was a nightmare. We didint leave inmediaty because when we arrived (after getting lost amd walking around circles for an hour) because nobody knows that street nor place (even neighbours) The room wasnt ready and. when it was there was a very toxic and deep smell of insect venenum (I believe for rats) we decided to stay anyways because we thought the smell would go so we put our things in the room and left to eat and walk around. When we arrived the smel was still on but there was nothing to do ... very late ... add to that no hot water and poor internet connection. The day after when we where checking out the young man wanted to charge us U$60 ( the price listed in Booking is U$35) that when I saw the instalatiin thought was extremely high already. In a good manner we tried expressing our overall insatisfaction (especially with the tremendous smell with which I couldn sleep the whole night and gave me a headache) and his reply was: Its strange what you say as I sleeped there for 3 nights and didnt smell a thing.... Booking staff should really check the properties listed in their web frequently. I request that you explore why there was a sign in teje entrance bu the federal police canceling and closing the establishment and also request a review of my comments and some actions taken for the inconvenience experienced. Thank you
Everithing about this place is amazing the staff the food and the place. Really close to the wallmart and a buss station.
That I had to leave
Clean, eligant facility with friendly staff and tranquill environment. I would stay here again.
Before I arriving the hostel, I called this hostel, they told me one night 150 pesos. Then I decided to choice it, even I had another choices. But when I checked out, they ask me 230 pesos. I tried to argue it, but they said the employee did not check it well and made a mistake. The reason was that "it is a high season now." Business cannot do like this.
The quietness, the fans,location.
Mosquitoe problem, hot water problem at times, breakfast, boss a bit of a sleazy feeling guy.
Cool staff and very nice atmosphere
Fantastic atmosphere and friendly feel from staff and guests alike.
Smell of anti-mosquito spray in room.
helpful friendly staff, very quiet and laid back, clean, good location and nice ambiance
There was nothing to not like.
The staff/people. Big room. The building.
Breakfast ok but very basic. Lethal biting insects - take repellant and room spray.
Homley backers environment. Nice people. Pretty little green courtyard. A kitchen accessable to all. Television in the room with programming in Spanish and English. Close to a large market frequented by tourists and locals. Walking distance to Walmart, Applebees, and Office Max. Would be our prefered stay next visit.
Courtyard a bit moldy and very slippery when wet. The room had a distinct odor which may have been a cleaning compound, but required turning on tthe ventilating fan and opening the windows.
Friendly, fun and very helpful staff, cozy environment. simple and homey.
This bed and breakfast was a bargain and a joy. It made the trip for me. Abigail goes above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. A great place for travelers keen to discover the Yucatan and the other face of Cancun.
Super comfy and laid back. Abby and all the staff were very helpful. A good deal and easy to get around from.
