Booking.com was paid for our travel to and from airport and we had to pay $200 for travel because you guys didn't have anyone to pick us up.
The room: We stayed in a Palafitos Suite and it was geat. We stayed 2 nights in a lower suite, and 2 nights in a roof suite. Both rooms were great, large, spacious, airy, and clean. I liked the lower level Palafitos best - the private outdoor shower, larger bathroom with indoor bathtub, and the lower level deck seemed more spacious than the rooftop suites. In a lower level suite, you could actually take a private outdoor shower; the rooftop Palafitos suites have a rooftop shower but it is not private. The bathtub is outdoors in the rooftop suite, but the view is of a stone wall - not very pretty. Staff: Staff was fabulous! Everyone greets you as they pass and genuinely seem happy to assist you. They learn your names and faces while you're there (a HUGE perk of being in a smaller resort). Service can be spotty sometimes, but the positive and willing attitudes of the staff make up for it. Management: There was a resort-wide issue with the AC the first two days we were there, but the staff went above and beyond to make us as comfortable as possible until the system was fixed. Once fixed, the management made sure to compensate for the discomfort we experienced. Wifi was fabulous! You could get signal almost anywhere (except at Ambar, the restaurant). Wifi extended even to the large dock on the beach. Take a speaker and stream your Spotify out there! =)
Small things - aside from not having ac the first nights... Wait times for meals to arrive were a little long. I dont think we had a sit-down meal that was less than 1 hour (even "quick breakfasts"). Our first dinner was easily 2.5 hours long due to long stretches between ordering and the courses of food appearing. There were NO bikes available when we arrived, or for the duration of the stay. We didn't want to spend too much extra money on top of the hotel cost. Tipping got expensive, and it seemed to be the norm at the resort; although some times, tipping resulted in improved service, other times it didn't make a bit of difference. The first night (a Friday), we could hear thumping bass from music playing somewhere outside our suite. I think it was coming from the resort to the north, but it was turned off by midnight. Thank goodness that was the only night, because it would've driven me crazy if it was every night - I wouldn't have been able to sleep.
Room was wonderful. Staff was very good. Food was excellent!!!
Shower worked poorly in our room. Needs attention! Another lively bar would be a great asset. Lived the staff. Especially Ceasar!!!
The accomodations are fantastic
Slightly spotty service at times but generally it's totally fine
The decorations and the place is very nice. People are very friendly
Simply concierge called Omar and the speed of the service and Entertaiment
