I had an incredible time at Hotel Bucaneros. The staff gave us very good recommendations for where to find food, restaurants, and dive shops. The accommodations, too, are spacious. There is wifi on each floor, and in many spots in the hotel I was able to videoconference on Skype with no problem! The hotel is also very close to great locations on the beach. I will definitely stay at Hotel Bucaneros the next time I travel to Isla. The (free!) breakfast was also delicious, with many tasty options to try. If you can, book the balcony room at the top! It has a wonderful view of Isla. I can't recommend this hotel enough!!
I didn't like that my stay on Isla was only two days - I wish I could have stayed longer!
Very Small room and 'double bed'. Helpful staff member on arrival but on departure unhelpful. Told us when we asked him to help us carry our bags down the stairs 'no, too dangerous' and to do it ourselves. Hmmmm. Would not recommend staying here.
Location & staff were very good
Breakfast were good although basic.
no elevator, poor breakfast, no wifi on 3rd floor and our room did only have a tiny window in the bathroom
Locates on main lifetime street, close to everything.
The AC in our room was the "window" type, made more noise then cooling. The fan on the ceiling berrely worked. On third floor no wifi and on other floors was very weak and disconnecting all the time. The breakfast is little bit poor.
The location is close to everything. The wifi was good and the room was quite large, with two double beds and kitchen facilities. I liked that they provided drinking water.
The bathroom had a foul smell, maybe bug spray? The breakfast was not much compared to most places that we stayed.
First, the hotel was really hard to find. It is located at a convenient location (in the middle of the most crowded street), but there's almost no sign that you can use to find the hotel on the street. People say they had a restaurant with the same name and the restaurant changed its name but the hotel didn't, and maybe that is the reason. Second, they advertise that there is free wifi available in every room, but it is NOT true at all. We stayed on the third floor, and there was no wifi in our room, and in order to use it, we needed to go down to the second floor. Third, the room is tiny for the price. Fourth, the air-conditioner was way too loud to keep it on, and the weather was way too hot to keep it off. We ended up turning it on and off continuously for the entire night. Fifth, water *drizzles* in shower. If you want to wash your hair, it would take forever. Maybe it is because we stayed on the 3rd floor. Sixth, no electricity outlets available in the room. You have to unplug refrigerator, air-conditioner, or lamp to recharge your phone.
Very clean accomidations, friendly and helpful staff .
Overpriced for what it is. Sewage smell in the room. Using my card details from the reservation and not asking for authorisation to make the transaction but doing it anyway without mention. Basic breakfast. No window.
The room was clean and very nice, we had also a balcony. The position was very good, on the main street with restaurants and pubs and very close TO the beach and dive centers.
the bed was a bit small, but comfortable anyway, and the breakfast was good but always the same.
