The internet is not good but I think it's more of an issue with the
infrastructure here. We stayed in Merida at several hotels, as well as
two hospitals (due to medical complications) and our experience was the
same everywhere. Slow internet, and the need to re-activate the internet
overtime you re-opened your device. As well, we had to use a wheelchair
and this resort isn't well equipped for that. Lots of stairs
everywhere and uneven walkways. However, they were more than willing to
come and pick us up in the golf carts they used to transport luggage.
Just know that it's not the friendliest place for wheelchairs.
I loved how welcoming and helpful the front desk staff was, loved that
"Mosquito" handed me a margarita as soon as I walked in. Loved
that we could get right to lunch even though our room wasn't ready,
and could not believe the view from the room. The pools were both
amazing, as was the beach. And the food was of much higher quality than
expected for an all-inclusive. Each restaurant has a beautiful ambiance
and setting, each bar is fun and the bartenders are fantastic, friendly
and fast!! I cannot say enough about the staff. Not one person was ever
less than totally happy to help. There were so many people here from all
over the world; I loved that it wasn't all English speakers here but
instead I met people from Russia, Albania, all over Mexico, Germany,
Japan, etc. a very friendly place. A very outstanding experience.
Children were not allowed in certain restaurants for dinner either,
which made for a quiet setting and was very appreciated.
