Only the morning after we arrived were we told the nightly rate was per person! My wife and I along with another couple checked out of our 2 rooms within 10 min of being notified of the double charges.
Deceptive pricing and filthy. Mold in bathroom. Mattresses stacked up next to refrigerator in dining area. Massive steps to get to the room - incredible. No hot water unless you went down all the steps and asked for it to be turned on. NEVER again
Place, connect Wifi, people ect.. i really like here. but hot water is bad(maybe Wait 10min)
Jorge & Juan the brothers who own and manage the place are charming and very helpful. The roof terrace has amazing views. The wifi is excellent. Either Jorge or Juan spends the night at Casa Bertha do there is someone around night & day making the place very secure. The location with teatro principal at the bottom of the steps leading to the plaza & casa Bertha is convenient to walk to the main sites, restaurants & for public transport.
There was nothing I didn't line but if you have problems with your knees etc the steps leading to Casa Bertha are steep windy and narrow and taxi drivers will not help you with suitcases. If you are alone traveller the alley ( callejon) and the plaza is isolated and dark after about 9 pm. I stayed in an apartment with a kitchen which was the only private accommodation that was available during my short 3 night stay. Breakfast would have been good!
I liked the location as it was not too far from all the action in the center of town.
I did not like that I felt slightly taken advantage of as a foreigner traveling alone. I decided to end my stay there a day and a half early as I found an apartment where I would be staying for the next few months. They did not even offer to partially refund me for the already paid day and a half even though on a policy sheet located in the room it said that they would. I felt awkward approaching them about it in their large family groups which often worked the front desk. Especially since I had to do it in Spanish. People shouldn't be taken advantage of.
Very friendly staff. Great central location in city centre. Two mountain bikes for rent (70 pesos per day). 18 litre bottles of purified water with pumps in the apartment rooms and the kitchens for drinking and cooking. Nice patio with view.
Patio closes at 10. This is because noise travels easily through the building so this is understandable. Note: This is not a place to have late night gatherings with friends, but there are many great bars/restaurants/etc. very nearby for late night activity.
The staff is wonderful the apartment is great for the price the location is good to see the most important sites. It´s nice to have use of the computer.
some barking dogs one night. Nice to have hot water. You have to get it turned on to your room which is a minor inconvenience.
Owner is a great guy. Very helpful and friendly, easy to approach with any problems or questions. Gave me a lot of advice about living here. Great value for money and had a very comfortable sleep and stay.
The managers were very kind and accommodating. Well located right in the centre of town. Wonderful common cooking and dining area on the roof terrace with view over the town and possibility to meet other travellers. It was quiet and a good place to rest.
Wi-Fi didn't work in my room.
