Ca'Rita Inn & Residence is situated 50 metres from the beach and a 3-minute walk from the town centre of Holbox Island, part of the Yum-Balam Nature Reserve.
Score from 58 reviews Wonderful
Set on the beachfront on the beautiful island of Holbox Island, this property has suites and apartments with spectacular ocean views. The town center is only a few minutes’ walk away.
Score from 93 reviews Wonderful
The view, the bikes, cool vibe, comfy bed, the cost, yoga, cleanliness, artistry/design, walking the beach to town.
Not being able to purchase bottled water/ice while being far from town, the shower pressure (like a fine mist), no towels left last day we were there, no helpful info in room.
Its on the beach, friendly staff
Food: included breakfast is continental (toast + butter + jam), the bread may be organic but it tastes like shoes. you can order omelette but its also dry and tasteless
I really liked the staff. The lobby area is a very welcoming and comfortable place because of them. My first morning there, there was fresh made from scratch rosemary bread and the next freshly made whole wheat with honey which I got to taste fresh out of the oven. The WIFI connection worked great in the lobby which was nice to be able to come up for messages in the morning and ignore them the rest of the day. Somehow I missed the outdoor shower by the beach house until the last day of my stay, it helped tremendously to keep the sand out and it was nice to rinse the salt water off before going to bed. Great value if you like walking the beach.
Great people, great location, creatively designed construction all works well especially if you appreciate nature, sun and clean air/water.
I really like the atmosphere at Casa Blatha. Everyone one, and I mean EVERYONE is very very friendly and nice. The staff is amazing. The location is quiet and just far enough from the town so the walk helps you digesting all the good Mexican food that you ate too much (the food on the Island is so so good). The rooms were super clean and there was always hot water!
Nothing. The breakfast was excellent (the included one and the extra ones as well). The coffee could be a little bit stronger.
They clean the rooms everyday and keep a fresh environment in all the hotel facilities. Staff is nothing sophisticated but very kind and efficient. Some of their facilities and rooms are very nice, but not all. It is a bit detached from the village, which enhances the experience of being in touch with nature. The owner is very kind and well educated.
Location is a bit isolated and bit far from the village. If it rains, no taxi or anyone is going to take you back to the hotel. If there is an storm, things may get a bit nasty. The roads get completely flooded and the beach disappears because of the sea level that goes up. And yet, the beach is the safest way to go back to the hotel, which under a storm conditions it could be a 'tricky journey'. If you don't like adventures, you may have a bad time there. In other words, if there is an storm this hotel gets completely secluded. Location could be inconvenient under stormy conditions. At the hotel there is nothing you could buy like drinks, beers, water, or food. The kitchen is open just at breakfast, lunch and dinner time. The food is good in the kitchen, but there is no menu or anything else you could ask for but what they cook this day. In their information, when you do the booking, there is no clear information about their different types of rooms, and one has no choice to select from the 3 (very different) types of rooms, which I find unfair. Rooms are nice, though, but youwill have the very basic service. In their information they say the kitchen is open and you can have access to it. it is not true. The kitchen is not open to customers. If you want something different from what they have, you have to go to the village, which is like 20-30 minutes walking. The beach is never clean. It is always full of sea plants. So, to swim you have to walk a bit far away. In a different hotel, La Casa Maya de José Lima, I paid less money, had better services, access to the kitchen, a nicer room with better facilities, and location was really great and next to the village, which is very convenient when you are there because you will immediate access to the stores and the zocalo.
Beautiful views from Casa Blat'ha and excellent customer service.
Casa Blat'ha is a 10-15 minute walk from town which usually would be no problem, however with weather not cooperating it was tough to hoof it in streets with 2 feet of standing water. Make sure you get airconditioning as keeping your windows open invites many mosquitoes. Bring bug spray for sure.
Good value. The managment was very friendly and nice. .
The hole stay on Casa Blatha was good, until the last day when we saw that 1500 pesos was missing. The owner told us that they have problem with the cleaning staff. So don´t stay here if you don´t want to lose your Money.
I was surprised that for such small money the hotel was very cosy and nice. Good service, everything is super clean and just 30 seconds from the beach!
15 min walk from the village center and after 16.00 you have just to take a taxi because mosquitos dont let you walk there.
