room has heavy smell. the hotel over charged our payment and the price did not match the booking's price.
beach is nice, location is good.

The room had a lot of wear and tear, here was a big stain on the carpet that really looked bad.
The location, pool, breakfast and staff, were good I enjoyed my stay.

We had no bad experiences.
The location, the studio suite, the staff, the cleanliness, the food, the service, the amenities, the beach, the pools were all excellent. For its age this hotel is in great shape. The constant attention to restoration keeps it looking good. The view from our room was so beautiful. Special staff members who treated us very well were: Patricia at the Lavanderia and Sergio in the Consierge Group. The man in charge of the Dining Room was outstanding as well. I forgot his name but he is the person who oversees all the food services. The night before we left we had a spectacular Surf and Turf dinner. Your hotel does things in a very classy fashion. Thank you for understanding tourists so well.

Only one open-space restaurant (and rather pricey) for a 5* hotel is not enough.
We stayed at Junior Suite (8fl.) which was a truly large 2 rooms + terrace, fully equipped kitchen, fine bathroom and a quiet place. Free Wi-fi was fine and stable, location perfect - close to the Isla Mujeres ferry (10min.walk). Nice beach, one of the best for children in all Cancun -taking into account waves.

Everything great beach great staff great food

The beds were a little hard, but hard to please everyone. The free wifi was quite slow
February 21, 2015
The rooms are dated and do need to be remodeled. I am easy to please but the rooms were very dated and the bathrooms needed repair to the walls and grout. Some spots were breaking away. The entry door had a huge chip in the wood. If you want quiet sleep....the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. I was charged 80 dlls more than my booking quote.
The wait staff was awesome. Everyone was sweet and very accomodating. The breakfast was awesome.

Internet was hit and miss while we were there.
Waterfront room within steps of the sand. Many activities for all age groups. Breakfast buffet.
January 13, 2015
Big room, meant for 4 people and we were only 2. However, the double bed is really not comfortable for 2 people: only 1 person fits reasonably well. The furniture and the design is a bit old style.
Location by the beach.

Found the staff for the most part to be unwelcoming and uncaring. The only staff that did seem to care were the food and beverage staff (who worked for tips). After we checked in at 5:30 p.m. at night we still had to wait 30 minutes for our room key. Yes they gave us a complimentary drink but after a day of traveling a 30 minute wait was a little long.
Great leisurely resort for people of all ages. Very comfortable bed, Beautiful view. Very reasonably priced food. Nice beach with chairs and umbrellas. Nice reasonably priced resort for people looking for a resort without all the bells and whistles.

-OLD! -old and ugly rooms, furniture, TV, A/C, lobby, restaurans -old fridge in the rooms was working very loudly -thin walls -room smells old -it's not a 5 star hotel!!!!
+the beach is quite nice

Hot tub closed at 10pm
No local vendors trying to sell on beach. Food was great, especially breakfast buffet. Service was amazing. Security on the beach. Great place for someone who isn't interested in loud party atmosphere!! Absolutely beautiful beach and water. Plenty of beach chairs, shade and hammocks to chill in.

wifi... so slow. Also location... a nearby Oxxo (convenience store) is 15 min walk from the hotel. A bus ride to the central hotel zone -- 5 min.
Breakfast, beach, pool, staff. We didn't expect much from the hotel as it was cheap, I expected the hotel to be run down or a total wreck. Front desk staff were all excellent, kind, informative. We loved them!

wifi not best in some locations
November 27, 2014
- dinner food at outside restaurant was not impressive, but OK - lobby bar atmosphere lousy (cold), could be easily improved with eg other lighting, decoration etc. - constant reminders of "tip not included" was infuriating
- good breakfast, lot of choices - shops in the lobby - nice pool area - nice and clean beach, smallish but enough - nice seaside and pool area view from hotel room (8th floor)

Crowded, basic hotel. Style 70's. Old fashioned.
Not so modern, basic hotel. As most of hotels on Hoteles Zone Cancun. Food was ok. Wifi was good. Staff was helpful.

Internet service, Reception
The hotel was old but it was acceptable. The most important for me was the Free internet service which I booked this hotel because of that, but unfortunately it was really really slow and it was disconnected totally for 3 separate days during my 10 days stay over there. The breakfast was good but the reception activity was not acceptable specially regarding to payments. when I paid them in USD they return me PESO which was not acceptable for me for a 5 star hotel !
July 6, 2014
Front desk very rude, they said I didn't have a reservation, they wanted me to leave, but I made reservations online and I had paid 600 dollars already or I would've gone somewhere alse. Beds are hard as a rock. There was no Internet, they chrge for local calls. In general they are rude. You are not allowed to use all the beach sitting area, they ask you to move if you seat in the nice comfortable section they say this section is reserved for vip and show you old chairs and say that's your section. The entertainment is a guy "singing" .don't go here. This is not a 5 star hotel.
Breakfast was good. Close to bus stop.

The approach the concierges had upon customer arrival (chek in ), to convince (stalk) the customer to participate in a presentation of the Hotel and it time share program. WiFi conectivity was poor or non existent, and the internet conection in the business center gave us more problems than solutions while trying to pre check in our flight.
The service was excellent, the Casa Maya staff are customer service focus, kind, courteus and happy people. The food service is good value for the excellent quality. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have seen in the hotels associates with Booking.com. Great selection and variety of food, fruits and drinks.
