I loved how enzo allowed us to take a hot shower and was so open to let us use his bike to check out the surronding towns. The cave and cenotes on the sight was breathtaking.
It was a truely romantic and adventurous experience. Little bungalos hidden in the jungle (literally!) with a very curious owner, Don Renzo. Oh boy, he is a Character))) I was truely fascinated by the place, by the sounds of fauna that was making all kinds of noises, by the possibility to meet snakes (didn't meet any), by hammocks, by everything) We spent romantic evening just chatting at the doorsteps of our little hut, swinging in the hammock and sipping red wine. To be honest, that was the night when I slept best (even though the bungalo is in the middle of the jungle, the insects do not disturb you, as there are very good mosquito nets). The shower cabin is shared but the water pressure is really good. Lovely beach is a walking distance away. So if you are adventurous and open-minded - you should have your Indiana Jones moment)))
Its definitely not a family/kids-friendly type of accomodation (but nobody stated otherwise, so..) Come with relaxed mind, bring a bottle of wine along and don't expect a lot (remember, it is a jungle!) - then you will get it all and even more:)
what a great find!...close to, yet not too far from the crowds of Tulum. Slept in a big tent near our own private cenote and hammock cave. The bungalows looked great. Don Renzo is hilarious and directed us to a great quiet beach and cenote nearby.
Nothing....this place is more for adventurous people trying to get away from the resorts.
Really nice setup of some pretty cabanas with great hammocks, a campsite with its own cenote and a cave, best showers ever right in the jungle away from buzzing Playa and Tulum. Chemuyil is a cute little village and closeby there's a beach and there are some more cenotes in the area (all on walking distance or just rent a bike). Pure relaxation! Don Renzo and his dogs are very hospital and will make you feel @ home. That's what they did to us at least! :) We would defenately stay here again!
We loved being in the jungle, like camping with the security of a well built place to stay, with locks and a safe. Nice mosquito netting on the cabana and for extra measure around the bed.Loved waking to the sounds of birds, laying in the hammock and reading. A good place to just relax or run to Tulum if we wanted. Renzo was a wonderful host! We would stay again!
Has got its own cenote!
Bathroom outside room
The facilities are just beautiful, the owner is extrremilynice.
mmm the bathroom doors are small
Owner is very friendly and helpful (and his breakfasts are great). Very nice place in the jungle, peace and quiet. Beautiful natural beach about 20 minutes walk and a cenote about 5 minutes walk.
wonderful bungalows and beautiful surrounding. very special place. the beach in the near of this place is wonderful
Nice jungle garden, cozy and friendly. Quiet and clean. We stayed longer then planned because we like it so much. Renzo is a great host.
A bit remote but we had a car.
Renzo is a cool host! The place is awsome!
The location, we were only aprox 1 km from a fantastic empty beach. Renzo's spectacular breakfast and the place is absolutely beautiful!
Excellent cabanas in the jungle. Cabanas owner Renzo is very cute and nice person. Cenotes and caves located in area near the cabanas. The sea is nearby. A wonderful place!
Fine place for quiet rest and a unification with the nature. Unique opportunity to fall asleep and wake up in the jungle under singing of birds. Don Renzo is the soul of this place - he made everything for our excellent rest. Within walking distance fine beach and synod. We will visit this place more.
I loved that it was located in the jungle, but was still in a gated area. The bungalows felt really local and camp like. The hammock outside the bungalow was nice to relax in.
The shared bathrooms were not right next to the bungalows, but they're not too far. A soap and shampoo supply would have been better.
- Very friendly and helpfull owner - The "cabañas" located at the middle of the jungle and close to a wonderful beach. - You feel very disconnected from the world... - The hammock !
Adventure in a jungle paradise! A beautiful property. The lighted pathways to the caves & cenote were beautiful to walk all times of day. Birders paradise. Close to Uxmal (a snorkeling park) and Tulum. We really enjoyed Renz, the owner. Originally from Scandanavia, he had lots of tales to share around the campfire about his world travels and about the area and property.
Come prepared for jungle adventure. This place is out in the boondocks. Shop in a major town and plan for breakfasts, sandwiches and snacks at least. Take a good map to Cavelands. The cab drivers in town didn't know the place by name. We had a lovely 1 km walk into Chemuyil to get a cab to area attractions. We rented his bikes one day. The roads to town were so bad that our undercaraiges hurt for days. We'll be back, but will bring more food supplies and use the lovely palapa kitchen and stay longer than 3 days.
Extraordinary experience in a beautiful place in the jungle with small caves to relax, a natural swimming pool (cenote) and super friendly staff. Recommended to anyone who wants to escape from the big tourist spots in the area ;) an overall wonderful experience!
Nice infrastructure in the middle of the Jungle, Cavelands owner was very friendly and helpfull. A wonderfull Beach is just 2min away by car or 10min walk. The optional breakfast is fantastic and costs just 100MXN. All in all its a Great Place to chill out and a good base for daytrips to the surrounding sightseeings.
Renzo was a perfect host for us, we really had a great time here. The 2 dogs were a little bit shy in the beginning, but after 2 days they really got used to us and were very friendly. The breakfast was one of the best in Yucatan, so don´t miss it.
The location is great, it is close to many places of interest, yet it is secluded and quiet and peaceful. The huts are very nice and one can feel close to nature in them, yet there are no mosquitoes and bugs inside thanks to the nets. The owner is laid back and friendly and speaks English! (which does not seem to be the case in most places we visited). His dogs are very friendly, the property has a little cenote and a little cave with some stalactites.
We could have done with a little mirror in the hut and maybe a kettle.
We loved being able to stay in the Jungle and wake up with the sunrise looking at the trees, There is a cenote about 400m away from the place which is MX$45 per person and its often very quiet and very very nice, Rens the owner does a massive breakfast! which is awesome!! We'll definatley come again!!
