Direct beach access
Very old, smelly room. Rooms definitely need refurbishing. Bad Wifi connection. Rooms are too expensive for what you get.
Easy access to the water/beach snorkeling excellent food comfortable accomodations beach walks
Everything - beautiful location on beach with turtles and stingrays just off shore that you can snorkle with. Staff were wonderful and very friendly. Really impressed by food (and we're very picky ex-chefs). The room, which was on the beach with a sea view, was fab and came with fridge and water cooler. Can't wait to go back and can't recommend highly enough.
There was building work next to our block but it didn't spoil our enjoyment. There are a lot of organised tours to the area but because the hotel has a private area of beach it doesn't feel too crowded. However, the locals do have some concerns about the effect it might be having on the turtles.
Location is fantastic, as you can snorke from the beach to see lots of sea turtles and sting rays.
Very, very hard beds (and I thought I liked hard beds...). Bugs in the cabin and not the nicest smell - although cleaned. Overpriced but maybe that is all about the perfect location.
Restaurant staff was great. We had super service 85% of the time and the food is very food. Fish tacos, yes! I like the pool.
I got many bites on my feet, legs and arms. Advice....don't be outside on the sand at dusk, especially after a rain. And use the repellent that they sell at the little store next door. Construction noise, argh.
Inside appearance of room is very nice.
Outside appearance and grounds needs renovation.
This was our fourth trip to this hotel. We love the small relaxed atmosphere. Everything you need is there and close by. The beach surpasses any other we have ever seen. Very special.
We didn't feel that the food service was as attentive as in the past.
This was our second stay at the hotel. As before our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It is great to have free water supplied in the room, and a fridge too. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food served is delicious, as too is the breakfast. They offer an extensive menu. We found it to be excellent value for money. The main draw for us is the location...the beach is beautiful and kept very clean. And the turtles!!! We snorkelled at least twice every day and had the privilege of spotting turtles every time. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
There is nothing not to like!!
Couldn't ask for a better location. You know you are in the best spot when a lot if the snorkel tour groups go the beach this hotel is at. In addition, staff extremely friendly and helpful (Luis and Barth). Definitely would stay here again. Great value!!!
Very nice, attentive staff. Beautiful location and beach. Excellent AC and comfortable bed. Contintental breakfast voucher could be used as a discount on a full breakfast. We would recommend it to friends and family.
Very poor wifi access in bungalows. Beach was crowded during holy week.
Location, Location Location. Jum in the sear in front your room and you find yourself swimming with sea turtles.
The bungalow like accommodation is pretty basic
Being close to the beautiful beach with an immediate access to snorkel with turtles and with fish in the coral was a big plus. The hotel was well kept, the staff were pleasant and the general atmosphere was laid-back.
The only draw-back was the construction noise from the hotel being built next door. Between April 3 and April 15, 2014, the grinding and banging were at times discomforting and annoying, but there is nothing that your hotel can do about it... We still enjoyed our stay, so it must not have been that bad...
The club has a private pool, the beach is at 10meters (and even if it's the only public beach of Akumal, it's the best spot to see turtles, mantas, rainbow fishes and sometimes... little sharks!) The room is quite big and the bed comfortable. The staff is sympathic and gives good advice.
Wi-Fi: low connection (near to zero into the room) Shower a little bit old, no TV
Really close to turtle beach. Beach towels and loungers included. Let us check in several hours early and use the facilities including parking.
Excellent beach Amazing location Attentive personnel Relaxing atmosphere
Construction site nearby Bad local roads
Swimming with turtles (50 meters from the beach!) Great restaurants Near Yal'ku (swimming with fishes)
Bathroom was a little bit dirty Beach looked fake (sand was hard as concrete...)
Friendly staff, proximity to the beach, free continental breakfast
Location was superb. The beach was gorgeous. Staff was very friendly.
The rooms were clean, dated and hadn't been updated.
Beautiful location, great staff, fun bar with good food, turtles in the beach
Not a continental breakfast as advertised, trail of ants in bungalow, dirty sheets every day, filthy areas in bungalow that were never cleaned, salt water shower and faucet water, very crowded when tours arrive at 10a until the evening, no access to affordable market/store
Snorkeling, relaxing under the palapas, friendly staff, walks along the beach
wading among the boats, no internet in rooms
We Stayed in the hotelbuilding and I would recomend to stay there because the Rooms were nicer and bigger Than the bungalows. Also closer to the pool and ocean. All the staff was Wonderful!!! Can Highly recomend this hotel!
Staff are very responsive to needed repairs, i.e., A/C. Food and service great. Beach well maintained.
Weak to non-existent Wy-Fi.
Great beach location. People were very friendly. Felt safe there, nice amenities with in room safe and security at entrance to hotel drive through.
The bed was very hard. Security light outside room lit up the room quite a bit (they need room darkening curtains on that window). Toilet ran quite a bit, needs repair.
We got there later than we wished due to travel weather issues. We plan on staying there longer next year !
Location. It is or use to be a beautiful, not"overused" little paradise. The ocean, the nature, the white sand is unbeatable.
Very old , overused bed sheets, towels, hard rock pillows, (what they are stuff with?) beds, old, suspicious looking bed covers, blankets, moldy bathrooms, -we have stayed more than one room- hardly working wi-fi. Maybe you get lucky and during the night you can check your emails.everything needs renovation!
