Only 100 yards from the beach in Playa del Carmen, this modern hotel features a pool, kitchenettes and is close to the city’s popular 5th Avenue tourist area.
Score from 157 reviews Excellent
|The outdoor pool is the perfect spot to cool down at Hacienda del Carmen. The property is 75 m from 5th Avenue and 250 m from ADO International Bus Station.|
Payment options for hotel stay were a bit unclear. We were under the impression that payment would only be accepted in cash, however, upon check-out we found out that the hotel accepts credit cards as well.
The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful; but the fact that the beach is your backyard takes the cake!
The beds were terribly uncomfortable with plastic mattress covers... Too much noise upfront
Front desk staff were very helpful The next-door resort with reggae band!
Room was very sparse and no upgrade was offered even though rooms were available.
The beach. Food on the beach was inexpensive and really good.
Couldn't sleep due to loud music from the nightclub area located just one street over from the hotel.
Close to beach.
Terrible place: as it is very close to 12 calle (street) where most open - air night clubs are located, it was impossible to sleep until 5 am (ear plugs did not helps due to vibration) and after 8/9 am (as the beach bar starts playing music loadly). The staff (during our check in) was not speeking English at all. No air conditioning!
Very close to the beach
very poor breakfast, paying to get a sunbed on the beach of the hotel and very loud at night because of night clubs nearby
having a direct access to the beach
very noise room after we complained they changed our room and they said its quiter which wasnt true ıt was noisy as before and when we checked out they asked more money because they upgraded us to quiter room and the person in the reception doesnt speak english so he doesnt explain or understand that we are not ınformed about the price...I wont recommend the place full of bars clubs around until 5am no sleep after 9 am start music from the beach clubs so basically no sleep at all terrible and also air conditoning its very old and noisy as well.We booked the hotel because its by the beach but they asked us to pay for umbrella and the bed.ıts not free eventhough u stay in the hotel !!!
location only near by the shopping street restaurants and beach
The whole location smells all the time - when u open the door to the verandah you get hit with the smell. It is from the beach so no need to go there.. Wifi didn't work in our room And hot water was very temperamental. You could do a lot better for the money.
Staff we're friendly and room was clean. Walking distance to 5th avenue.
Too close to very load downtown bars so pounding trob till early am hours, esp Friday Saturday and Sunday. Regular rooms may be better sound proofed?
Liked the ground level and beach 100 feet away. Great on site message guy. Reception helpful with day trips. Bungalow with great high ceiling but needs a lounge chair.
Location, friendly and helpful staff
Rooms need a fresh look. Noisy clubs around
Good location and friendly staff
Beds, they we're dirty, had hair on mine, stained sheets, no sleep, sooooo loud! Hardest bed I ever slept on,
The staff was friendly and accommodating. Great access to beachfront right from hotel room. Felt safe for our family. Enjoyed the hammock on the balcony!
clubs nearby are noisy till 6am for good sleepers only
lido beach next door, towel magic suprise, in centre
No hot water. Also the beach club closes at 7pm. Even 8pm would have been better.
LOCATION! Beach club! Staff! Room was perfect! Clean!
Being seniors we did not care for the very loud Techno music that lasted past 3:00am. If that is what you are looking for this place is ideal.
The staff very helpful, the location perfect for the beach and 5th Ave. Clean comfortable room and nicely appointed grounds.
Yes, noisy clubs at night. That's about it!
Excellent location Had charm of Mexico Food at Lido was awesome Beach service great They were always maintaining property
As someone who lacks the energy or inclination to party until 2am every day (or 5am on Halloween night), I found the noise level to be exhausting. On top of this, there were at least two staff members at the front desk most nights who appeared to use the desk as a personal meeting point with their incredibly loud friends. I stayed in the room closest to the reception desk and couldn't help but feel fully inundated by their obnoxiously loud laughing and a young skinny girl's (staff member, I think) barking dog. Finally, the Wi-Fi was spotty every night and even went out completely for 2 days. I found it unprofessional and incompetent that nobody could give me a straight answer on what the situation was with Wi-Fi or why in my 7 day stay I never had hot water. All in all, save for the cleaning ladies who were incredibly hospitable and polite, the owner(s) would be wise to overhaul their hospitality staff and hire a crew more dedicated to their job and less dedicated to Facebook status updates.
This hotel's location can't be beat. The shoreline and its beautiful turquoise waters are just steps away. There is a wide selection of restaurants of varying nationalities and price ranges all without having to walk more than a block or two as well as various grocery stores and coffee shops. There is a good, fully equipped gym just two blocks Northeast that you can join at daily, weekly and monthly rates. If you're a sports fan (NHL, NFL, NCAA, NBA, MLB) you won't have to go very far to enjoy the games live. To top it off, the area is low in vehicular traffic and very bike friendly.
I was staying in Playa for one night and needed an easy, affordable place to stay with a knowledgeable staff to recommend what to do in the area. Hotel Colibri Beach was exactly that! Not a 'fancy' note in terms of amenities, but it is a great low-key place to stay.
Poor quality of beds and showers. Pillows, towels and sheets to old, poor services. To expensive for what you get. On beach you have to rent the chairs.
Only location to beach and 5th ave.
Noisy (from its own bar) Weak wifi Not the best part of the beach
It is cheap, for being beachfront
Pillows very hard. Shower head was in bad position and couldn't move.
View from my room.
Wifi no good we need wifi
rooms were horrible
Location was excellent
Steps to the beach club Lido...where the staff and food was excellent. Facundo at the front desk was the Man! Thank you for all your assistance. We love hotel Colibri!!!!!
