Not too close to El Centro Quiet Friendly, informal atmosphere. Hotel staff very helpful. Length of time it took to fix leak in air conditioner.

The staff was outstanding! Our flight had been delayed so we arrived late at night, but they were there waiting for us and graciously showed us to our room. The next day, they helped us obtain a new rental car, because our reserved car (booked through a different company) had been given to someone else. They had the rental car brought to our hotel for us, and made sure that the car company gave us a fair price and did not charge us for extras that we did not request. They spoke English very well and translated for us with the rental car company. Without them, we would have had a much harder time. The hotel itself is very charming and clean, just like the photos, and is located in the central district. We very much enjoyed our stay - highly recommended!

no cockroaches. The hotel design was beautiful, in Mexican colonial design, with beautiful tiles, huge windows, the breakfast area was under construction, and promised to be fabulous once finished it was under construction. the breafast area was closed, filled wtih cement bags, the room was adjacent to the reception/entrance, and next to the street. the noise in the morning was terrible, from the construction work. We were the only visitors, as others probably had been warned. The water from faucet was cold, the wifi did not work, and it felt like an awkward out of the way location. The two rooms in the entrance are just awkward, because the light and noise from the reception area is not to be blocked out. Once finished, and rooms other than next to reception area, this would have been good. Although, it seems overpriced, in comparison to other options in Merida. Our first impression when we arrived at 8pm, was that it was in an isolated dark location. It turned out it was only a few blocks from the city center, but the way Merida works, is that there is not a lot of street lights, and the houses are built right to the street, and after dark there seem to be few people.

Nice hotel with a decent breakfast and they offer the use of the kitchen for preparing your own lunch and dinner. Perfect for backpackers. Wifi works. Location - It is a good way out from the centre of town. The room whilst decent smelt like it hadn't been opened in a while.

The staff were extremely courteous and helpful and they all spoke English. They were able to arrange tours for us to Uxmal and Chichen Itza. The hotel itself was a small beautifully restored 2 story building close to the main square but very quiet with a 3rd floor accessible by an outside staircase. I felt we got great service, good value for our money and I would stay here again.

The staff was very helpful, arranging tours, helping with the free wi-fi that wasn't working for me, and calling to check on a tour that didn't pick me up. It is in the historical center, but a long 6 blocks or more to the plaza.

stayed only two nights, one full day in Merida, but location is good for access to the city. I don't know if I would call the room 'deluxe' because the bed was not very comfortable (you can feel the springsin the mattress) but the room was otherwise nice. Also, the lobby computer was broken, so though wi-fi was available we did not have a laptop and could not use it. It would have been nice to have that access to internet without lugging a laptop. But the price was so very reasonable and if you were staying longer than we did it isnice to have a spot to prepare meals for budgetary reasons!

Primitive and insufficient furnishings; old and worn-out mattresses, and in our room the floor wasn't level, giving the feeling of reeling to one side upon arising! the second floor was only reached by a metal fire-escape. At $49 per night, considerably overpriced.
