Good location to explore downtown Merida. Very nice staff
Bathrooms were tiny.
The hotel itself is very pretty, always clean the the staff are super friendly and it is located very close to everything.
We woke up late at 10:30 and breakfast had been cleared away however the staff did let us have cereal and toast.
Location. Staff. The place overall ia very nice.
The bathroom in my room had a little window to the kitchen which os not great. IT did not bother us though.
We liked the hotel, it was ok. The staff were friendly and it was near where we needed to be. But on the website they had photos of a big swimming pool.
Only the lack of the pool!! on the website they had photos of a big swimming pool and garden. On arrival my children were highly disappointed there was not a pool!! The pool was two blocks down the road.
Very clean with a very nice staff.
Very good location, this is an amazing place for the money, the staff was very helpful and kind.
Staff were excellent and very friendly. They went out of their way to help! You get a pass for the pool down the road, this is also where we had a cooking lesson. My mum really enjoyed the breakfast, they were happy to replenish items as soon as you informed them. A large jacuzzi upstairs was also at our disposal, although we never used it!
Wifi only worked outside, we were in room 4 and we couldn't get any connection. The rooms could've been cleaner, there was a dead moth on the floor when we arrived and stayed in the same place for the next 4 days.
The staff is friendly, breakfast is good enough.
The room number five to be precise, is like a box, without a window, and very small, the bed is against the wall and a kind of bugs appear on it, also some mosquito. Although Merida is very safe city, the hotel is located three or four streets from the main square of the city, then attending one of the spectacles that the city offers after dark, you'll need to walk in these lonely streets at night, consider that some buildings around look like abandoned or are for sale, the street is empty of people especially on Sunday. My girlfriend didn't want to go out by street after dark so, we missed a lot of Merida at night. While walking around we saw many others hotels near to the zocalo for a reasonable price and even cheaper than we paid on this one.
We liked everything. The entire Hotel staff was accommodating and welcoming. They all greeted every gues, every time they saw them. They put out breakfast early for us when we had to leave earlier than breakfast hours. The staff answered every question we had without hesitation, and completely. Tours picked you up from the front door. If you wanted to explore, the staff was extremely helpful wth directions, hours, museum and attraction recommendations, and everything else we could think up. Our room was always very clean and well made. We liked the community kitchen, and we did cook a few meals during our stay. We felt at home. We would absolutely recommend this hotel, fantastic experience!
Some street noise, mostly the roof top a/c condensers made loud noises than disturbed our sleep. The closets were cute, but small.
The staff at this hotel were the highlight, both helpful and friendly. It was a real pleasure to stay here. I stayed on the ground floor and the bed and bathroom were both great. The hotel wasn't in the main shopping area so it was quiet and close to markets and parks where you could find good local food, and not far from restaurants like Chaya Maya and the main square. The architecture and people of Merida were very special - I loved both and would return for a much longer holiday.
A small problem was the mosquitos in June because of the humidity, which meant you needed to wear mosquito repellent in the morning and evenings, even in your room.
Staff is very kind. Hotel is nice and clean. Breakfast is very good. You can use swimming pool in another near hotel for free...
Our room didn't have a window.
Staff, location, AC
Poor Breakfast, Lack of swimming pool
Walking distance to the center. Nice and cosy inside. Air conditioner! Everything that needed.
Great hotel for the price. Location was perfect. Internet ways worked and he staff we're lovely. For the price I don't think you can expect anymore.
I feel bad saying this since for the price I don't think you can expect a swimming pool, but they have a service where you can use a hostel pool. The pool was pretty gross and the having it connected to a hostel brought down the level of the hotel a bit. I would suggest teaming up with a better hotel/pool or not offering.
Kind and informative staff
Our room (number 5) was pretty small and with no windows.
Always someone at the front desk for any needs and to ensure physical security of the facility, it was not just anyone walking in off the street could wonder around.
We thought it was a good budget hotel. Our room was small with no window which was a disappointment at first but we were out and about all day and only went back to the hotel in the evening. It the end it didn't really matter to us that much. Having the room facing the courtyard meant that it was much quieter than front rooms facing the street. The room was clean and hot water running all evenings fine. Breakfasts were good, staff very friendly. It was a bit tricky to find at first with a car and one way system. Location suited us well, close to the main plaza, bars and restaurants yet tucked away from the main street and noise.
All was fine during our stay.
Location is excellent. Everything was within walking distance (less than 10 blocks) and the neighborhood was pretty quiet and felt very safe.
Wi-fi was only available in lobby at first, but the staff worked on it and we were receiving it fine in our room after that.
Small, quiet hotel in a quiet area away from the chaos of the centro and a good spot between attractions in the north and south of the city. Nice, professional staff, clean rooms with good air con.
Friendly staff, clean and perfect location.
cant think of anything specific
A very welcoming place, helpful staff, lovely outdoor space including kitchen, we appreciated the use of a service bathroom before we left on a night-bus; quiet location and comfortable rooms. Overall very good!
Maybe a little too far from the centre of Merida but taxis are inexpensive.
staff was very helpful. phoned up the bus station for us to determine schedule, generally very good. breakfast was excellent.
Lovely, authentic, intimate hotel. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Great rates. Very quiet.
Our room was near the kitchen on the first level; next time we'll reserve a room on the upper floor. Location is a little out of the way for night walking.
nice, clean, and good breakfast, BUT
the pool is some blocks away in another hostel, the downstair rooms are quite dark and with limited air circulation, especially the inside room Nr. 2. In total the value for money is quite poor.
i like the concept of this hotel. the kitchen and dining tables, in the middle of the lobby, are set up like a hostel so that one can make use of the kitchen most of the day. the continental breakfast is very good. good coffee. makes it comfortable and easy to chat with other guests.
i arrived after a long trip and they demanded payment right away. they refused credit cards, gave them some cash, and had to go out to an atm. i was very unhappy with the room, located next to reception and kitchen. no hot water in the shower (i was told it was my fault for not letting the water run long enough). i booked 2 nights through booking.com. when i arrived, i informed them that i didn't like the room and would check out the next day. the next morning i was told i had to pay for the 2nd night. they told me their policy was 3 days notice for cancellation, and i had reserved for 2 nights. i had to waste an hour on the booking.com site modifying the reservation, which i finally did, but they insisted i pay in cash for the 2nd night. i refused and threatened to call the police. they relented and i demanded a written statement because i didn't trust them.
