Hotel Dolores Alba Chichen Itza    

Room was nice. Pool looked ok. It's in a lovely setting. Close to a nice Cenote.

Poorly trained staff. Offhand manner. Breakfast was a fight to get a boiled egg! It's a bedroom and no more. Why do they spoil a lovely place acting as if they don't care?

The hotel is situated at about 5 km from the Chichen Itza main entrance. It has 2 pools and you can visit the cenote Ik-kil on the other side of the road.

The buffet was rather small (not buffet-style). The noise from the road makes it a less idyllic place. I think the hotels situated in Pisté are a better option.

The surroundings were beautiful and the property was well maintained.

The prices of food at the hotel were high for the area and the quality was mediocre. The staff was mostly busy on the internet the entire time we were there and we had to seek them out. They asked us to pay after the first night (we were booked for two). They do some "magic" with the exchange rates, so you don't pay the quoted USD price, they convert it down to Mexican pesos at an inflated rate, so by the time it is converted back to USD you have paid much higher than the posted rate. Debated this with the desk clerk and they weren't willing to charge the normal day's rate so we did not stay the additional night. Felt as though we were being cheated.

We were travelling with a 10 month old baby and needed to wash bottles. The kitchen staff washed them all which was very much appreciated. The rooms were basic but clean and the the two pools were great. Also appreciated was the shuttle to Chichen Itza.

The hotel is in a useful location for Chichen Itza and offers good value for money. Very convenient as buses can be caught directly outside the hotel. Pools were well maintained and there were nice shady hammocks to use.

Food was reasonably priced but menu limited.

Excellent location - very close to Chichen-Itza. Excellent food. Nice, clean, simple rooms. Wonderful seating area outside, natural swimming pool, hamakas for guests to use, very friendly and relaxed atmosfere!

We enjoyed the natural limestone pool.

First, we were charged quite a bit more than the quoted price, and the man running reception wouldn't explain why. Next, the water in our bathroom smelled strongly of sewage. We couldn't stand to shower in it and kept the door shut to contain the smell. The food was absolutely awful, as was the service, yet the price for food was higher than any other place we traveled. Luckily, we had a rental car and went in search of other food for dinner. We found a very nice restaurant on the other side of Chichen Itza. The ruins are extremely commercialized here and everything is roped off. The walkways at Chichen Itza are lined with hawkers and they are very aggressive. The night show is supposed to be included in the ticket price, but when we arrived to see it, we were informed that it was canceled. Later, we learned that it had not been running for 2 months, yet no one mentioned it. I'd skip Chichen Itza, and definitely book a different hotel.

The location was perfect for our needs, and easy to find. Nice breakfast, although we had no idea what we were getting until it arrived. Lovely fruit salad, followed by scrambled eggs and ham.

The staff were abrupt and when we asked for drinks in the evening, they seemed suprised that we thought they may have something other than bottles of beer! Wanted to charge us extra for pineapple juice with breakfast because they had no orange juice or lemonade and my partner does not drink tea or coffee.

Little things like remote controle heavily taped or scruffy deckchairs with dirty layons show, that the place is taking a slope downhill.

I love the honesty and innocence of the Mayan staff. Friendly and courteous. Location of the Motel, beautiful grounds, swimming pool.

Being on the edge of the jungle, not enough jungle sounds in the night.

Good location 5 minutes from Chichen itza. Food was pretty good and pretty cheap. Both swimming pools nice. Room had ac but not advertised as having it.

To be honest it is a cheap hotel 5 minutes from chichen itza. It is not amazing but our room had ac and it has 2 nice swimming pools and for 35 quid to get the jump on all the tourists going to Chichen itza it's worth the money.

Dolores Alba is conveniently located to the Chitzen Itza ruins. There is a Cenote across the street and some caves to explore just 1 kilometer away which were a lot of fun. Hotel has a nice pool near the rooms and eating area. Overall, a great place

I think your staff should little nicer. Especially you waiter in the restaurant he was not very friendly and acted like he wanted us to hurry and leave him alone.

the convenient location for visiting the Maya temples and the shuttle to go to the site. The pools are great too.

It is noisy because to close from the road

The hotel was pretty decent given its cost. It has two pools, a regular one and an ecological one. They claim that the site of the hotel is where solar rays collect and gather to enter Chichen Itza, and that the ecological pool has healing powers. If that's your thing, then bonus points for you.

The beds certainly could have been better - as my mom said, it was like her grandma's bed - super flat. The parking could be better, too. Our car was packed to the brim and the path we took was through reception, into the edge of the restaurant seating area, around the pool and into the room.

The service. The waiters didn't care about any customers needs. You pay, you sleep and you shut up. And for those who smoke it's a non smoking hotel even outside.

The location: right in front of the amazing Ik-Kil - Zenote - just walk across the street. Also the hotel has a huge nice garden. Sadly it´s just next to the highway.

Well, it´s not the newest hotel. The fotos on the website are not the most recent. It could be a little bit cheaper, but well, you pay for its location next to chichen itza.

Great and cute little hotel near the Chichen Itza ruins and across the street from Ik Kiil Cenote. Staff is very friendly and cares for all your needs.

Only thing wrong was the bathroom in the room. Outdated, very low water pressure.

It is a pleasant hotel. The rooms are nice and big. The setting surrounded by the big trees are lovely and relaxing. The pool is a normal size for such a hotel - not deep. We had a swim and it was refreshing. It was clean and well maintained. The location to the archeological sites is ideal. The included breakfast of a plate of fresh fruit, scrambled eggs with ham and warm baguette was quite welcoming. Guess we are not fussy and appreciate the simplicity of life. The wifi at the pool area was very good.

No complaints. Simple but functional.
