Beautiful (!) hotel; very convenient; very helpful staff
A little noisy in the evening (until midnight or so, after that was fine)
everthing except no wifi in my room.. asked them twice to fix it but didnt.
The location was fantastic. We had their breakfast both days and was very good. We also had their staff set up a tour guide and they did an excellent job. Check out the wonderful coffee shop next door.
Some city noise with bells and a dog barking the first night but we closed the window the second night and it was not an issue.
The room was extremely cosy and very comfortable, the walls painted in nice colours with a wooden ceiling. It had a nice, antique but still creative flair. The staff was friendly, at the reception desk as well as at breaksfast. The breakfast hall itself is situated in an amazing patio.
There was not anything really negative, the bathroom was a bit tiny, but still, it fit very well with the cosy atmosphere of the room.
Staff was kind enough to check us in earlier, bed room was roomy breakfast was very good. bellboy accompany me to parking garage to get my car. They were amazing!!!!! can't wait to come back
No Parking, so next time I wont bring a car
Location. It looked like breakfast would be good but we had to leave too early.
We had to climb way too many stairs and wind through an absolute. Maze of corridors to get to our room...up stairs. Down hall. .up stairs. ..another corridor.. Up stairs...which way! Exhausted! no elevator. After a day hiking around the hilly city it was too much. And the last straw was our room had a window opening onto an enclosed space. The people who worked there were nice thank goodness
1.The Breakfast "Buffet" isn´t a real buffet: has only Fruit, eggs, beans and Chilaquiles, no more options. 2.Don´t has parking and don´t has a deal with parkings like other hotels. 3.I paid 30 usd for parking for one day. 4.Has a lot of stairways.
I will stay here again.
Wonderful place to stay while exploring Guanajuato.
The staff, beautiful traditional building and furnishings.
stairs, stairs and more stairs, but that's old Mexico!
If you are able to walk up lots of stairs and want to feel the true flavor of Mexico, this is a wonderful hotel. It has been totally refurbished with a true Mexican colonial flair. Each room has its own character and no two are the same. The staff made us feel like we were family and were incredibly helpful. There were no elevators in colonial times so there is no elevator in the hotel. It is located right in the middle of historic Guanajuato, within walking distance to so very much. It was a very enjoyable stay.
Location of hotel to downtown square, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, ambiance of hotel, great little restaurant (interior courtyard) to enjoy breakfast
That the walls are so thin that u can hear everything.
Excellent location on Guanajuato. Really interesting hotel.
Parking was a little tricky.
hotel quirkiness and charm
Great location. Friendly staff. We liked our room.
Same Beatles muzak CD at breakfast day after day. Walls thin. Earplugs a must.
The character and style of the hotel with flights of stairs and rooms built into the side of the mountain.
No fitted sheets and bottom one too narrow to tuck in . Dogs in area barking periodically through the night. (Not fault of hotel. It is a feature of the city)
Location, breakfast included was good
Dark small room with wasted kitchen facility (not a dish or glass or knife in the place), no chair, very poor lighting, tiny outside window
The El Meson de los Poetas was a wonderful surprise as we arrived early (very early - 5:00am) and enjoyed our walk through the corridors of European/Spanish style architecture until our room was ready shortly thereafter. Our room (suite) had style and a great view. The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. It was our first leg of our trip and it set the tone for a wonderful time.
The location is great. The breakfast was amazing for the price. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful.
There was very little that we did not like. My only complaints would be that one can hear everything going on outside the room, so it could be noisy at times; and we could not get a wifi signal in our room and had to use it in the dining area.
Karen and sergio, the host were wonderful as was the rest of the staff. Very helpful with food and sites to see.Close to everything. I will definitely be returning!
We got an update to a larger suite that was spectacular.
The staff didn't quote us the right price, tried to make us pay for the breakfast, and did not charge us what they said they were going to charge. 3 different incidents trying to get more money than the booking suggested. Without any apology. Hotel was also dark and old.
Loved location, decor. Staff very good, especially the reception.
Stairs! But nothing to be done about that. breakfasts were not great also!
