It was clean, spacious rooms and lovely staff. The breakfast was a great inclusion and beds were comfy.The location to the shops and restaurants was great and the pools and gardens were very well maintained. There are 2 areas of the resort, one being beachfront and the other across the street from the beach. We were led to believe in our booking we had a beachfront penthouse and we did not have this at all. We barely saw the view of the water, just "glimpses" I would not have minded if I'd known but it was a little dissappointing. Also the noise from the nightclubs up the street was pretty bad, the music did not stop until 5am every night.

Remarkable staff and facility Terrible--virtually poluted unusable beach--located in night club zone-- clubs play exceptionally horrible and extremely loud music till five each morning==impossible to get a peaceful nights sleep--what a shame for such a lovely staff and great facility

This is a great condo development, first class setting on the beach, efficient friendly staff, well appointed comfortable condos though go for the Beachside ones as there is another block one block back from the beach!

I loved it... The installations are beautiful...very complete and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was not as good as everything else - particularly because Mexican breakfasts are exquisite. The fruit selection was very limited.

Nice boutique hotel.. Great location.. Fantastic service.. Helpful staff.. Elegant, tranquil and very well developed property.. Bedspread was thin and rough.. Bottom corner one bedroom suite didn't seem like it was worth the price in comparison to other potential options in Playa for the money ($350 usd a night).. Beach front was nice but had a lot of boats anchored by the dock which was not ideal for wanting to jump in for a swim.. Besides that everything else about El Taj was fantastic!

Unfortunately our room didn't had soundproof windows and we had to hear the music from the nearby discos everyday from around 12am to 4-5am. The staff gave us a small discount, but we are totally shattered after two weeks of bad sleep. I used ear plugs which helped a bit, but some times I could hear the music even with the earplugs on. The hotel is quite good, so it is a shame that this issue is not taken care of. I would recommend everyone considering this hotel to call the reception and ask for a room with woundproof windows or in the side of the hotel that is farthest away from the discos.

This hotel is one of the best in all regards for Playa Del Carmen (city center) if you are looking for an intimate, smaller property, that is also five star property for rooms, services, grounds. They cater to families and couple alike. It is within easy walking distance to 5th street dinning and shopping. It is a beautiful and well kept property with lovely gardens, and ponds, along with a nice intimate pool and lounge area. Lovely beachfront location. All the staff goes beyond all expectations to make your stay and activies perfect. You just cannot find this kind of service on a mega property! Thank you staff and Carlos! I would suggest trying to work out a deal (pay off) with the surrounding disco techs. We stayed Dec 16 - 21. I could barely hear the music from my room in the front of the property, but I heard folks by the pool were up all hours of the night. I would come back, but only during low season for the price due to the discos.

The hotel is very nicely decorated and well furnished. I stayed with my wife and two children in a 2 bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and fully equiped kitchen. It includes dish washer, fullsize fridge, oven, microwave and coffe maker. The apartment also includes washing maschine and dryer what is nice for families with children or even for who do not like to travel with a lot of luggage, Our apartment included plenty of electronic gadgets, like 3 lcd tvs, sound decks for ipods and radios. Both rooms included electronic safes. The hotel rate included complimentary parking, beach club, gim and a massage. It is located very close to the 5th avenue, between 12th and 14th streets, where you can find nice restaurants and shops. All staff was very friedly and helpful and having breakfast on the beach is a good way to start the day. I truly enjoyed my 3-day stay at El Taj and would recommend it to anyone who want to use Playa as a base point to visit the parks like Xel-Ha and X-Caret, to visit Cozumel, to go for diving or snorkling tours, to spend the evening walking along the 5th avenue or enjoying the many night clubs closeby. It is realy very relaxing to enjoy Playa without needing to drive a car after drinking some mexican beers and margheritas. The El Taj is highly recommended, to families with young or older children. The only point that may bother someone who is very sensitive is that some night clubs are about one block from the El Taj. I must highlight that the music during late night did not affect me at all, and the apartment is quite well sound insulated, specially if the air conditioning system is on. I just believe it may be an important alert to people that have not been to Playa before and expect to stay in a very quiet environment.

The rooms were beautiful and spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed. Having two kids with us, we really appreciated having the extra space and privacy of the condo versus a regular hotel room. Everything was really clean and the staff was very helpful. Also, the location was excellent. If you are a light sleeper, be aware that the local club music can be heard inside your room until very late at night. This was not a problem for us, but I could imagine it being an issue for some and something to be aware of in advance.

I absolutely loved the oceanview the hotel had, the staff was always friendly and responded to our request effective immediately. Everything was a walking distance and had a great secluded spot. The design of the hotel was beautiful and elegant. I will definitely recommend this condo hotel again and will be staying there whenever I return. I didn't like how they had certain options of eating at the Indigo hotel at certain times of the day. We were told we could order room service from the menu and once we attempted they replied telling us they had changed the menu and were only serving sushi and pizza at the time. Also there were just a little bit of issues with the door lock and one night the rain leaked through. Thankfully nothing was damaged and the staff responded to our requests pretty quickly.

We have stayed at 5 star resorts all over the world. We are frequent travelers to Mexico. El Taj is the best hotel that we have stayed at. The service was excellent. The location is perfect for those that like to be close to restaurants and nightlife while staying in a quiet and private location. I cannot say enought about how great the El Taj is. We uses Trip Advisor as a guide and this time they were right. El Taj us ranked #2 for hotels in Playa del Carmen...I Agree. We will be back!

Дизайн, номера их компановка и наполнение а также планировка Очень шумно ночью из за близости ночных клубов. Очень шумно работают конденционеры. Плохие завтраки, скудный асортимент, плохая их организация, плохое обслуживание. Из 14 дней завтракали всего три раза , просто неприятно, все время приходилось что то выпрашивать и это за свои деньги. Практически отсутствие пляжа , купатся невожможно из за рыбацких лодок. Приходилось идти к соседам, а там нас никто не ждал и это очень неудобно и унизительно.

Perfekte Lage,direkt am Strand und doch nur fünf Minuten von der belebten Innenstadt,die keine Wünsche offen lässt.Das wunderschöne Hotel im Bali-Stil ist dabei trotzdem sehr ruhig und angenehm zu bewohnen. Der Service auch im angrenzenden Restaurant ist hervorragend und ausgesprochen freundlich,Sauberkeit und Qualität des Essens aus- gezeichnet.

La décoration de l'ensemble de l'hotel, ses piscines,sa situation centrale et en bord de mer. L'équipement des chambres qui sont en fait des suites équipées comme un appartement.Nous le considérons etre le plus beau et le plus typique du centre de playa del carmen. Il est également très bien situé par rapport à la station de bus et shuttle venant de l'aéroport de cancun. Par contre nous sommes arrivés sur l'hotel la veille de l'ouragan Rina qui s'était adouci en tempête tropicale, il n'y avait plus dans l'hotel que les touristes et la sécurité de l'hotel. Plus de possibilité d'avoir de petits déjeuner et obligation d'aller faire ses courses au supermarché local pendant 2 jours. Pas de problème pour comprendre l'état d'urgence conduisant a cette réduction du service. Par contre les prestations de petit déjeuner n'ayant pas été assurée elles ne devraient pas rester facturées ce qui n'est pas le cas
