The laid back enviorment and friendless of the staff

beach in from of hotel could have been better--many big rocks and not easy to get into the water right in front of Fusion.

The location set on the beautiful ocean. Amazing bands that played awesome music. Excellent food and talented and experienced bartender's and waitstaff. Great service overall and quality for the price.

There were some bugs in the room but since it was located in a bungalow type setting we didn't mind too much but I got bit a lot by some of them. The water from the shower spread...we slipped a few times on the tile floors but with extra towels that problem was solved.

Great location, good food

Room has mold on wall, ant on the floor, water leaking from the ceiling, but the most annoying are the way they manage the beach chair, staff will ask people walking on the beach if they want a chair, so they can sell food and drink, hotel guest have no priority on the chair if you show up after 10am, no chair left, it is all about money not service

Everything! Fusion is as far the best hotel I've been in all my life. When I entered on my room I stayed about 10minutes just staring, how amazing it was ( I booked the superior ocean view). -It is really in front of the best spot of the beach, the view is outstanding! I felt on paradise! -Is 1 block to the best point of 5th av -there is a cozy and nice restaurant/beach bar downstairs. Is so good that even no-hosted go to there spend the day or to have a lunch/breakfast or to have fun at night. The frozen margaritas r the best! -Internet free is good and great -hot water on shower works perfectly -all the staff r amazing, kind, polite and helpful. -Offers cheap trips and shuttles

-We couldn't go with our rented car to the hotel. The street 6 wt 5th is closed to cars. Then we had to left it 4 blocks away. -The breakfast is indeed one continental one. Only bread and juice/coffee. Anything else.

The location is amazing. Right on the beach. They have good live music at night.

Breakfast is pretty simple. Feels a bit like a backpacker place to be honest, however it is priced more expensively than a backpackers. I guess you pay for the location.

Great food and drinks (kiwi margaritas!) in the restaurant, balcony in the room, very clean, not expensive at all for beachfront

Only one bathroom in the duplex room, beach chairs were all occupied

needs updated, mild in shower. Did not let us know at check in that we received a discount at restaurant till 3 days into our stay, continental breakfast a joke toast and juice was all, watch menu American breakfast the same Mexican breakfast American breakfast cost more

It's right on the beach, great staff, very close to everything

The hotel has a restuarant and a live band every night. Our room was located right above the music area. It was noisy at night !

I stayed here while my wife attended her girlfriends birthday up in Cancun. Its right on the beach and convienent to downtown. The bar and beach bar are very nice with great staff and the prices are cheaper and food better than other beach bars in Playa. In the late evenings there is music that lasts until early morning and it is a popular spot for younger couples. The music did not bother me as I just turned on the ac to drown it out. The room was very clean with lots of hot water. All in all Fusion is pleasant but not pretentious and a very good value.

If you like go to bed before 2am, you better avoid this hotel... The beach bar is very nice but they play concerts every night and it's sooo loud, you think they play in your room!! After closing the bar, you can hear the boom-boom from other clubs.. Sleeping without ear plugs was not possible to me! We stayed in room 18 which is on the 2nd floor on top of the bar but I doubt that the garden rooms are quieter.. Bathroom smelled very bad, windows do not have proper curtains which means you'll be awake again early if you are a light sleeper.. Construction site next to the hotel started at 7:30 too... Positive thing is the location as you stay in a beach hotel 1min from 5th avenue.. ...But i would never again stay here unless I was only here for partying..

Nothing, loud if you go to bed early

The location of the hotel directly next to the Beach is very nice. During the day you can enjoy the sun and the ocean on the hotel's private beach. In the evenings you can have a nice dinner on that beach and later you can listen to life music and watch shows every night. The hotel is not perfect in every detail, but this gets more then compensated by the location and the friendly staff. For me this is the best place in town.

The A/C was not the best

We loved the location. The garden was beautiful & staff very friendly. Loved the beach bar & live music, events right in front of the hotel. I felt safe. Rooms were clean, but one bed was very hard. thank God for the air conditioner.

Amazing place! Reception- professional, helpful, very friendly, organized Rooms- We stayed in one of Garden Room which was great choice. Garden behind main bldg is amazing. Exotic plants, trees, flowers. It looks amazing at night time. Room was really nice and comfortable for two person. My girlfriend complaint little bit that there is not enough space for two suitcase- what think is that her suitcase as always was pretty big:) Really simple room but fresh, clean, with all you need there. Nice shower, comfy bed, good a/c, bathroom space. Small balcony in front room and safe deposit box inside. Wi-Fi works great and it's included with price. Cleaning service is great(don't forget to leave tip) Restaurant, Bar, Beach Side...simply amazing with delicious food(really delicious) great drinks and great atmosphere overall. Life bands every day start to play already in the afternoon till late night. Great staff, amazing food and drinks once again. Try Fish Tacos and Caiphirinha(Kiwi). Breakfast included is really simple: toast, butter, jam, orange juice, tea, coffee but it's nice. You can always take something from breakfast menu. To be honest after two weeks in Playa del Carmen I didn't found any other place like this. There is really specific authentic atmosphere there plus great beach just in front of your eyes.

Fusion is fun, fun, fun! The Fusion represents the real Playa, not the gated, all-inclusive resort stuff you get outside the city. The bar/restaurant opens right onto the beach, and the view is spectacular. The rooms are small, clean, sparsely appointed, and generally don't have views (a few have balconies). There's a bit of street noise at night, but again, this place is at the center of what makes Playa great. Live music, belly dancers, and fire shows every night. Eat dinner outside with your feet in the sand, or go to any of the great restaurants around the corner on 5th Ave.

They could have given a nicer breakfast

I loved the gardener, and the cleaning staff. Very friendly, always with a nice smile, and the fact that most everyone working there seemed to be a local Mixican person. I appreciate this hotel supporting the local people. Loved the live music each night, and of course the beach was awesome. We had some difficulty with our room the first night, and the staff had no problems moving us as soon as a room became available.

Night club staff were more interested in making sure the people at the bar were spending money, than making sure the guests of the hotel were well cared for. We were asked to leave the outside sitting area, because we were wanting to sit and listen to the music one evening. This was after we had already spent lots of money on both food and drink while on the lounge chairs during the day. We refused to leave the outside area, pointing out that we were guests and had already spent lots of money during the day. However, I have to say, this put a bad taste in our mouths, and we spent most evenings elsewhere after this incicent. It is my belief that hotel staff should be well aware of who the guests are, and if necessary, guests could wear a bracelt, as most guests will spend more money than anyone that visits the bar once in awhile, and this incident certainly didn't make us want to spend money to support this hotel.
