Had to pay for water. Far off the main drag so had to walk a bit to get to area with buses and taxis. Neighbourhood was a bit sketchy.

The lobby area inside the hotel was really nice... We took all of our breakfasts there and had one or two meals outside of that when we came back really tired. It is set up like a courtyard and really well kept, always with a breeze flowing through. Breakfast was good for just about $5 USD, and the staff was always friendly and accommodating. Parking (we rented a car) was inside the hotel courtyard, which was gated and was manned 24/7, which we were really impressed with. While the building itself appears a bit old, everything was always kept very clean, and our rooms were always swept up (we came back from the beach with sand on our toes....). The location, while not in the hotel zone or in a commercial area, provided easy access to all the touristy places and also our day trips to Chichen Itza and Tulum, since we had a car.

The hotel took us ages to find! After an entire day spent traveling, we were really not in the mood to spend so much more time trying to navigate the Mexican roads and finding the hotel. Ultimately, that was our fault for not getting directions first, but there are absolutely no signs for the hotel on the main roads anywhere, and the small street that leads to other small alleys that lead to the hotel are really hard for a foreigner to navigate for the first time. No one knows the name of this hotel, either, and the directions provided on the webpage are incomplete, so the rental car people had no idea how to help us.

We were in Cancun for 12 hours waiting for a flight. Hacienda del Castilla was a good hotel for the money considering the length of time we had. Had to get up at 2:30 to catch an early flight out of Cancun.

Not too many restaurants around hotel. Had to take taxi to restaurant.

Staff qand the best Marguerita´s in Mexico

Wifi everywhere in the hotel, the pool and the billiard.

No iron, no hairdryer(in the website they say they have some) rooms a bit smelly, needs a little update in the rooms furniture. Dont like the fact that taxi drivers in front of the hotel are "associated" with the hotels staff and boost their prices ( ex: price to get to the airport WAAYYY too expensive)

the staff were wonderful and responded to any questions or needs i had cannot thank the men and women enough for their generous time and helpful advice offering a family haven in a sometimes overwhelming city again ahola too all and see you again very soon .

This clean hotel has friendly staff, a small swimming pool to cool off in and air conditioned rooms of a good size. This hotel is good for travelling on a budget and short stays between destinations. The hotel facilites include: an on-site restaurant/bar, internet access in the lobby and wifi, refreshments/snacks available at reception and secure parking.

The hotel is situated away from the 'Zona Hotelera', in the north end of the downtown area of Cancun. Subsequently it is away from many of the 'tourist attractions', and is amid the housing of the local population.

The localization was good - close to the city center and to the bus station (where you can take a bus to the beaches). It is also a 20 minute walk from the ferries to Isla Mujeres.

It is quite hard to find the hotel, the description could be better.

The bus "R1", two blocks from the hotel, can take you easily to the turistic areas at the "Hotel Zone" by the beach. The hotel itself can be hard to find, so be sure to take a print of google maps. Decent hotel, friendly staff. The hotel is a good budget option.

Area does not feel very safe and the hotel is not in the hotel zone. However, it is easily accessible by bus.

I am sure this is the best hotel for this price at Cancun downtown. English speaking and very nice staff, very good restaurant, room equipment is more than sufficient according to the price. I can only recommend.

The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Any requests were immediately accommodated. The location is spectacular for anyone with an interest in birds or wildlife. Every meal was delicious, family cooking prepared with local ingredients. The rooms were very comfortable, and were easily cooled with a combination of the lake breeze through the large back and front windows, the celing fan and the air conditioner. One needs only to lift one's head off the pillow to watch the beautiful sunrises.

It is, after all, set in a semi-tropical rainforest. Travellers must wear adequate clothing and footwear at all times and take precautions against mosquitos and other biting insects and against the sun and heat. They must also be aware that the usual city amenities like shopping malls, discos, restaurant strips, etc are not to be found. This is a wildlife retreat. Also, each meal consists of a set menu. Abundant and always delicious, but fussy eaters be warned. I'm sure the cook would accommodate to the best of her ability anyone with legitimate special dietary needs.

First we did not get the room we had booked or what supposedly came with our room, we were not told of the down grade or were told that the room we booked was not available, they still charge us for the suite evendo we didn't get it, the floor was sticky in the first room we stayed, the window didn't lock, they gave us back less money for the downgrade then what we paid for the diference, there was fleas also,.. working for a hotel and the service we should give does not compare, it would of been nice to get Atleast a letter of an apology..

Location - but ok with rent car. You can park the car safely out of the street, and a good starting position for a daytrip

Habitación amplia y cómoda. Personal de limpieza muy amable que cumple al 100% su trabajo, dejando todo impecable. Bien mantenimiento del hotel en general.

La ubicación es muy mala y el aire de nuestra habitación (319) era tan ruidoso que de noche no podiamos usarlo. Importante: ****** el chech in es a las 15hs no a las 13hs como indica booking. ******

La atención de su personal, la higiene, el cuidado con sus clientes.-

La ubicación, esta en una zona fea, por las casa que rodean, pero a dios gracias en diez días no he tenido problema alguno. La zona comercial que circunda al hotel es muy buena, variada, de buenos precios. Hay que alquilar un auto si o si, es necesario.-

Estacionamento seguro e gentileza dos funcionários.

Ar condicionado do quarto barulhento além dos insuportáveis pingos do ar condicionado superior, Wi-fi sem conexão no quarto.

Bien pour une nuit de passage. Petit dejeuner correct et parking fermé.

Hôtel trés difficile à trouver !!! De jeunes adultes de Cancun ont fait un relais téléphonique pour le localiser car personne ne le connaissait et nous y ont emmenés ! ...bravo et merci a eux ! Quelle gentillesse ! Sans eux, nous n'y serions jamais arrivé,car il est trés mal situé dans une petite rue d'un quartier qui nous a été décrit comme pas trés fréquentable ... dommage ! Trop difficile d'accés, pour une nuit, la prochaine fois, je choisirais plus prés de l'aéroport.
