The bed was so comfortable, and the room so cool. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We loved the jungle- type garden, too. The red hotel next to it, which cut off a lot of light - which is not the hotels fault. The breakfasts, too, could be improved.. The serving staff were excellent in every way- but the food was repetitive and often, not appealing.

Loved the rose petals and towel animals! (How unique is that!) Loved the breakfast, best "breakfast provided" of any hotel I've ever stayed at. Loved the proximity to "ave 5" (but that it wasn't directly on this busy street) and the ferry to Cozumel. Loved Maurico (front desk) and the conceirge (sorry, I'm sure I spelled that wrong). Loved the free water, very nice. Loved the cold water and hand towel offered at our arrival, very unexpected and so sweet. Loved the double door system that reduced street noise. Loved the general construction ... marble, tile, very beautiful. Also very comfortable beds Ok, listen up because this is important. Expectations are high given the above (see text box). The bones of this hotel are excellent -- the design is beautiful, the food wonderful, the service great, everything works, etc. But then you see the paint over-spray on the walls, the rusty toilet bolts, the rusty shower hinges, the loose towel rings. It's just odd, and so completely unnecessary. These are not complicated fixes. The owner should recognize that this really is a sweet hotel and if he doesn't keep up with the simplest maintainence it's going to be really hard to maintain the reputation. There's just too much competition not to pay attention to the easy stuff.

When we first arrived, we discovered shabby towels and sheets with stains. After complaining at the reception, this all improved and we got impolute sheets and towels. The key is that you are listened to and helped in any way possible. The staff are incredibly friendly and polite. There are all little things that make your stay comfortable: you can borrow a towel to take to the beach, you can get non-standard things for breakfast with a small charge, there is drinking water available, tea and coffee, there is free internet, just anything you may need. If you miss something, just ask, chances are you will get it. We were there on our honeymoon and we got a beautiful attention for that (as the only hotel where they did this out of nine where we stayed). The airco is not the most silent one in the market and you can hear the airco from other rooms, although this is not too bad. The bathroom is close to needing renovation, as the facilities are starting to get old.

The staff was very accommodating as we arrived early, before the check in time. Our daughter was very ill and needed to get out of the heat quickly. They immediately provided cool facecloths for all of us and a cold bottle of water. They got us into our room and brought her a sweet bun later when she was feeling a bit better but didnt want to go out to eat yet. The rooms were clean, and the beds were the nicest I have ever slept on in Mexico; and we have been ~ 10 times. The location was excellant. Only a block from 5th Ave and 3 blocks from the ocean and a nice beach. We slept well - very little noise from the street and were extremely pleased with the friendly and bilingual staff. We would definetly recommend this hotel to friends and stay again if travelling to Playa del Carmen. The shower is not drain well which was a bit nasty standing in the 2 inches of water- but then it turned out we did not notice the plastic cover over the drain we were supposed to move!! We will know better for next time.

Free fresh water filling. Room acoustic insulation is poor. Rooms sharing doors with others are extremely noisy if the neighbour is noisy...

It is small hotel and the staff (including the Manager) made you feel you were a real person not a paycheck. The Hotel was quiet and relaxing and very close to the dive shop, snorkel shop, restaurants, banks and beaches. The pool was clean and crisp; perfect for the morning, afternoon and evening dip. I felt safe 100% of the time. The buffet breakfast was filling and the beers were cold. The hotel cares about the environment and they give you a water bottle free to refill as needed in the hotel. Two things I would of liked to see different. More variety of tours offered by the tour group and the bed spread (top sheet) changed more regularly.

The cleanliness! The staff was very nice! I didn't like the hotel, even if a so-called "boutique hotel"!!! The hottest room I've ever encountered; luckily there was a/c! The bathroom smelled like mud. The room was noisy and the check-in... Ohhhh soooo late! Besides, the guy from the reception must have given us the ugliest room in the hotel as well (or am I just paranoid?!). Breakfast, too...

The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and everything worked! It had a lovely little balcony overlooking the pool/courtyard - a very colonial feel. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet of everything I could think of or want.

My stay at the Hacienda Paradise was wonderful. The staff was very professional and accommodating making my 3 weeks there great. The Wi-Fi was good and breakfast was even better. The rooms are very comfortable with one of the best beds I've had in any hotel. The hotel was close to everything with a Mega store only 10 mins away. I would definitely stay there again.

Assolutamente no.
