This is a good hotel in a quiet location in walkingdistance to downtown. comfortable beds, kitchen, wonderful shower and best of all a machine to dry the air in the room. It helped to dry towels and wet things. It also had a beatiful garden and helpful staff.
Breakfast only with sweet buns and bread. A little dark and smelly rooms.
Proximity to town and activities there. Breakfast brought to the room every morning. A 20 liter jug of drinking water in the kitchen. Very friendly staff. Pretty garden area.
One upstairs bedroom developed a very musty/damp smell before our week ended. We should have mentioned it to Linda; I think they would have brought in a dehumidifier.
1 Oct 2014. Juan from Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. This was in lo season, so... check high season reviews. Quiet. Nice and helpful staff. Nice small garden Hacienda style with benches to read, relax, talk, know others, etc. Street is quiet as it is the last before the airport area (check reviews for Jan-Apr season when Airport is in real use (a few traffic on this street anyway, that is why I picked it. Walking to Museum, ferry, center and down to malls is short half hour. If you are a diver, check first with your provider about pick up there, doubt they have a taxi boat (reefs and dive shops are mostly in the other half of the island), however is a nice place to stay if you don't mind the shuttles. Basically I had a great stay and loved my good decision. About booking.com, been using it in Miami, France, Spain, England and Mexico, always great service.
Wi-Fi is slow and hard to get signal inside the room (antenna is in garden) but it works well, Internet carrier is slow but that's Telmex way. Sitting in the garden or room portal will be fine. So it is not a really "didn't like" just a consider limitations if you have other idea of high speed connectivity.
Big room, kitchen facilities, small breakfast included, cheap
Quite dirty (our room had also a sandwich in a shelf!), very soft beds
location, staff was lovely, spacious rooms, very charming feel
no ventilation in the bath room caused some mold
Friendly staff and nice garden area.
Rooms were musty and took "rustic" to the extreme - some of the furniture was very worn and needed replacing (e.g. bed frames seemed broken in the middle, refrigerators were noisy and didn't close properly). The complimentary breakfast were a few bits of bread and some juice.
We cannot have the studio we have booking. We receive a studio on the strret..impossible to open window because all people on the street can see us..the bed was next the window.the kitchen was in poor condition wtih an old fridge who make a lot of noice..the personal don t take care of our complain, we have to ask for another studio, but this one on the first floor was also in poor condition. The hacienda need renovation. We rent for one week but only stay 2 nights..very desapointed
We (finally) had a large room at the ground level, in a quiet place with a luxury garden. Within walking distance to the city center and close to the sea. Cleaned every day. Very good wifi. We appreciate the fact they were kind enough to change the room after the first night.
The first night we arrived they gave us a room at the upper floor. We didn't notice at the beginning, but it was really creepy. Probably it has been flooded, the walls looked really bad, the kitchen furniture the same (probably old), and there was this smell of closed, humid place that just didn't go away. This really ruined my first day in Cozumel. However, they changed this room with a much better one at the ground floor. Guys, please, you need to renovate the upper room! It damages the overall quality of the place, and that's regrettable...
Vey friendly staff. Like all the natives of the island.
We liked everything, a very nice hotel, very comfortable, a half block from the ocean, very helpful friendly staff. Our room had a nice kitchen, we did a lot of our own cooking while we were there.
We were on a dive vacation and our marina was a fair distance from our hotel, so we did spend a bit of money on taxis going to and from the marina, but it was a very fair price for the room, so it does even out.
* It's a charming quiet place, with a nice garden. * Staff is very friendly and helpful. They can arrange trips, car rental etc. * Studio is basic, but quite big.
* We found it expensive for the basic facilities - after having travelled through Mexico this was by far our most expensive one, but not the best (we expected more luxury). * Refrigerator is old and makes a lot of noise - we switched it off because it kept us awake. * The free breakfast is friendly but not a big thing.
Decoration, service, staff, garden, patios.
If you're headed to Cozumel for vacation by the beach, then Hacienda San Miguel Hotel & Suites will not please you. It's located far away from the beach, but close to the ferry port, the shops, the tour guides and the best restaurants.
the location the comfort of the room the price
Very quaint, quiet and "authentic" Mexican hotel. Loved all the terra cotta. Within walking distance to San Miguel. It has a lovely courtyard. Office staff very friendly and made you feel welcome.
Unfortunately, it rained very hard during the evening and night and our 2 room unit flooded. There is no staff there after 8pm so there was no way to get any help until after 8am the next day. We were with another couple and their room stayed dry. The staff was very apologetic and refunded our money. It was not the hotel's fault that it rained so hard (all the streets were flooded) but had there been a way to contact someone we could have possibly changed rooms.
