the beds were comfortable
the facility is old and dated the door locks are poor at best. the toilet leaked the pool was poorly maintained
Good breakfast, nice swimming pool, strong Wifi signal
Location is a bit far away from the main beach, I had to walk 10 mins to the nearest bus stop and took a bus to get there No restaurant or bar in the neighborhood
Pleasant room, comfortable beds, very clean
The hotel is in a residential area, with no restaurants or bars anywhere near it.The nearest restaurants are a 10 min walk and busride away. There are no restaurants (except breakfast area) or bars in the hotel. The nearest beaches are a walk and busride away. WIFI is very slow and erratic. Breakfast is cleared away at 9:30-not on really in a tourist resort.
Staff was great. Beds were excellent. Felt safe in the neighborhood. Over all very good value. Staff were always helpful and addressed issues when requested. The Breakfast was good, had a reasonable variety. Over all, we really enjoyed our stay.
The pool it self was ok and clean, but around the pool could use more attention to cleanliness. Just general garbage and cigarette butts, etc could have been swept up more regularly. Farther from good restaurants and good beaches than I expected. Expect to walk & bus more, or pay the expensive cab fees! Little things in room could have used some fixing, really just little annoyances; -table did not sit flat, rocked around. -door to patio did not always shut well, had to make sure it was latched. -drawer in one of the dressers did not sit or slide in right. Again minor annoyances.
No lift which was annoying with heavy bags
Breakfasts were very good; premises were quiet.
There were no restaurants within a reasonable walking distance nor at the hotel itself. We were limited to a "mom-&-pop" store catering to tourists with kitchenettes or microwave ovens and refrigerators. WE had none of these.
The price was fair. The wifi was not paid, as opposed to what is written in the hotel's info. Breakfast was okay, albeit a bit boring.
Location is a bit remote, 15-25 minute walk from anything, 7 minutes to the nearest bus stop, if travelling by bus.
Friendly Staff Good Swimming Pool Drugstore near Hotel
Hotel have the ice-cube machine
Rooms have not fridge (minibar) ! Swiming pool have not shaded area Hotel have not shutle to beach or to town Very poor internet
Low cost compared to the big resorts which were 4 times as much but had great service.
People were not very friendly.
great hotel even if is a express hotel :)
1. Location, near form the touristic zone. 2. Breakfast included, good quality. 3. Beach Club
1. No shuttle transportation, could be an extra 2. No transportation to the Beach Club
The book in the room said breakfast was till 10am but actually it closed at 9:30.
Value for money.
It was very comfortable and clean.
It was not close or in the resort area.
The rooms are nice and comfortable. I like the pool area
Location is a bit far for public transportation, breakfast is too early
I liked the breakfast buffet and the pool area... The food is pretty much continental (eggs, bread, marmalade, butter, cereals, milk, turkey, ham, cheese) with some Mexican flavours (nachos chips, salsas etc) as well. You can find a good variety of fresh fruits as well! There is a separate office in the lobby where you can book your excursions for Chichen Itza, Tulum or the parks Xcaret etc without having to search every single tourist office in the city. The service comes and picks you up from the hotel door as well! There is also a convenient store next to the hotel (until 1 am) so you can get the most important stuff from there if you're hungry (there's no restaurant in the hotel). Free wifi is good generally and you can connect up to 3 devices. However is not that fast (there is a premium faster service if you want better speeds for some bucks).
The rooms look pretty old, they have a light scent of humidity and oldness. It is pretty much far from anything (so it is good if you look something quiet) but in an affordable distance from the bus stop though (>10 min walk). There is no fridge, no food at night (however you can order delivery), no hangers for drying your wet swim clothes, the balcony door looks not so safe and pretty fragile. Last, there is no safe box for your valuables in the room. Instead, they offer a locker in the reception and they give you a key that if you loose you have to pay 3000 pesos!!!
good service, nice pool and breakfast area, very clean, very good value for money, tours booking availble in the hotel, one can order food with reception support, internet access is included, taxi availble just near hotel
one needs a 10 mins walk and then the bus to get to the beach area or restaurants, or alternatively a taxi, hotel condition is fine but not on the modern, renovated level
The breakfast, the swimming pool
Friendly staff, balconies on all rooms, lovely pool area and good sized comfy beds.
A taxi ride to the nearest decent (but crowded) restaurants and bars (beware taxis are expensive in Cancun!) Breakfast wasn't brilliant. Mostly continental with some scrambled eggs, frankfurter sausages pieces and tortilla chips. The free wifi didn't work on any of our devices.
The grounds of the Holiday Inn Express Cancun were simple. The palm trees and the two pools in the main outdoor area was very inviting and beautiful. The staff was great and attended to our requests quickly.
The Holiday Inn Express Cancun was an older hotel and had a musty smell in many of the rooms we looked at. The location is in a community called Pok Ta Pok and there is no bus service to or from the main hotel zone road. The walk to the main road to catch a bus was a 15 min walk and the heat during the day made it very challenging to walk that distance. The hotel had no restaurant and there were only two other places to eat within walking distance with little variety to choose from. The bathroom was extremely small and some of the bath tubs were worn and rusty around the drain of the tub. There were no safes in the room to lock up valuable possesions and money. The breakfast did not offer a lot of variety. The fruit and pasteries were great, however the beans, weiners, eggs and taco shells were the main hot items available. The rooms were very small and dark and some of the lighting did not work. The beds were extremely firm and very uncomfortable. We had to move rooms hoping to find a bed that would work. We were shown six other rooms and we could not sleep on any of their beds. My husband's back went into spasm after laying on the bed in our room for about an hour. The staff did everything they could to accommodate us as we were booked to stay for seven nights. We asked for a refund for the other six nights and they graciously gave us a refund and waved any other fees that could have been added. When I tried to pay for the room my pin for the credit card was not compadable with their system so they had to swipe it, which was suggested by my credit card company to complete the transaction.
Price paid was not worth it
The pool is the only good thing
Location is horrible: in the hotel zone but no own beach, no restaurants and no life around. No food at the hotel except for breakfast.
nice staff, good breakfast, free wifi everywhere, large pool
no fridge in room, bit of a walk to get to the hotelzone and have to catch a bus to get to the beach
No elevator so had to get help to take bags upstairs
