location is very close to main square (zocolo), the metro and metrobus
bread served at breakfast is a day old. the bread was cut and prepared the day before. rooms are not cleaned every day.
got bitten by a bee and asked the front desk for ice for my swollen hand and they would not give me any ice for the swollen bee sting. people using the computers play music very loud from the computer speakers and have the volume up very loud when talking in skype and facebook. the music and voices echo and carry throughout the building. you will get eaten alive by mosquitoes. the male staff hit on the females staying at the hostel and eye the females up and down making them feel very uncomfortable. other female guests have commented to me about this.
The staff was helpful to find places to go, things to do. The location is right in the middle of town! You can walk everywhere.
Friendly, good to meet people, hot shower, buffet breakfast and dinner included but this can be restrictive with your time. Location is perfect, in Historic Centre 10 minute walk from Zocalo metro stop
Shower was good, powerful and hot but leaked all over floor when left running a long time. No aircon or fan but not too hot. The building is very old so appears dirty. Only bread, nachos, cereal and fruit for breakfast, not good for me! These are the reasons I felt room should be much cheaper but they are always busy so book ahead.
I stayed for a long time there. The staff was friendly and helpful and the guests were awesome. I've met a lot of people there and the bar at rooftop was cool. They provide breakfast and dinner with variety everyday. I had a great time with amazing people there.
The plug isn't near the dorm bed. No soap or shampoo provided. The Wifi cannot be detected on 1st floor or below.
location is good.
the room is a mess. wifi only available on the roof. printer is broken.
beds were awful.bathrooms were awful.
one staff is cool. the rest are...
the rooms doesn't have windows. Too have fesh air you should let the door opened. And the air from the toillet does in to the room. I was unlucky with my room mates and changed the hostel...
male staffs were nice, but not the female ones. But all together it was ok for the price.
I was unlucky, came to a time whre the wifi was down for days. There is nothing open start from midnight - it's downtown.
This is a friendly hostel very close to the main square. You do get what you pay for the amenities are basic but that's to be expected. We had a private room with bathroom and it was fine (clean and comfortable). It was noisy but they provide ear plugs! Breakfast and dinner are included in the rate no matter whether it's mentioned on your booking or not. Breakfast was good, dinners were ok. Rooftop bar and eating area was a great places to chat to other travellers.
The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is well located not too far away from the zocalo.
We were there for four nights and they cleaned the room only once. The rooms are very basic, not as comfy as they look on the pictures. They don't provide soap which in my opinion is something basic, even for an hostal (especially for 550 pesos per night!).
totally awesome. great location, amazing staff, you get breakfast and dinner incl in the price (and it is very good). Wifi works. It is your "safe house" :-) in Mexico city
location, free breakfast, great showers
dinner was free but not that great, WiFi spotty but probably more to do with the provider and not the hostel, also booking.com price quoted in both dollars and pesos but the mgmt used the unheard of and absurdly high conversion rate of 13.39 pesos/$ but at the banks you'll be lucky to get anything more than 12.7 pesos/$.
We like everything about this hostel. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The meals are excellent and it is like having a home cooked meal which is really needed when you are travelling. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We have stayed here several times and each time it feels like we are coming home. The location is excellent close to the Zocalo and very easy to get around town on foot or by metro.
Breakfast and dinner are included and both have good range / changes everyday. Location couldn't be better for getting to key highlights like the Zócalo, Palacio Nacional, Rivera murals, metro for anything else.
Room was a bit stuffy and the fan didn't help. A few mosquitoes. There are tours advertised but not really promoted - they wouldn't organise the walking tour as they needed a minimum of 6 (we had 5). When we organised extra people they said they'd already cancelled the guide. Neighbourhood is quiet in the evenings so you'll more likely metro than not to go eat out / have drinks
Right downtown historic center very safe area close to subway (10 min. Walk)
Excellent free breakfast and dinner, great location, well organised hostel offering tours etc.
Dorm was pretty cramped and stuffy.
Great price/quality, room and two (simple) meals for z'n inexpensive rate. Facilities are good, bar (open till 11pm though), WiFi works like a charm and self service laundry.
Rooms do dissappoint a little, bathrooms are outworn.
The place is centrally located, wifi is almost reachable anywhere.
We had a private room. The room was enormous, however, there wasnt a place where to hang your clothes. The furniture was all broken, drawers were not clean, mattress was very old and lumpy.
1. Location. 2. Breakfast.
There were no any water when we arrived in the evening. We waited until 1 am to take a shower. There is no air conditional but a lots mosquitos! The hostel ordered a taxi for us, but the driver higher the price when we were in the car. Feeling be cheated!
Very helpful staff! Great localization and tasty food make it an excellent hostel.
Poor WIFI signal.
Multi-lingual staff made it easy to discover new places to go, things to see.... They added a lot to the trip. Breakfast was great, free, and made fun by Victor, whose has a positive attitude and was also always helpful.
There was no bad things.
Nice breakfast, and dinner is included in the price. Nice terrace.
A bit difficult to climb on upper bed in dorm - no stairs.
All was fine.
