Hostel Amigo

Everything was very very clean. There are two rooms with confortable couches to stay and hang out. The bedrooms are large and ventilated. The breakfast is very typical and delicious!

it is a relaxt place, comfortable beds. staff is very friendly. simple but good breakfast in the middle of the old centre good value for money this was amigo close to santa domingo. there are 2 hostels with the same name!

the first room was a private suite it was very comfortable but a bit noisy due to the street

This hostel would not honor my booking.com reservation price and were rude when asked to.

There is lots to like about Amigo (but see the downside below): Good location (about 5 min walk from the very heart of MC), very focused on providing good customer service, friendly staff, great internet access (wifi and a number of computers, for free), lots of free and low-cost tours, free breakfast etc.

We had booked a private double room with private bathroom and a window. Everything else was fine, except one thing: the road noise! We felt like we were sleeping on the road - the ear plugs helped a little, but unfortunately we couldn't handle the noise for more than just one night... Hence the low score for comfort.

They received us with tequila and allowed us to take pictures with their sombreros.

some confusion with pricing; the confirmation mail I received reported a priced a bit higher than what was reported on booking.com; anyway the price I was then actually charge was the lower one, so not too big a deal.

Extremely near to a metro. Free breakfast which is pretty good.

1. One of the staff is either forgetful or dishonest. After 2-3 hours from checking out, I suddenly remembered that I was not returned the $20 key deposit. I went to the counter. Unfortunately, the man who checked me out was not on duty anymore. I explained what happened to the woman who was on duty. She said it was reflected on the computer that the key deposit money has been returned to me. I refused to leave and said in my broken spanish about the man lying and I am going to write a review on the internet. She immediately returned me the $20. mx$20 is very little money but it's the principal that counts. 2. I asked the counter staff to dial a cab for me. She called a private cab for me which cost a bomb! From centro historic to colonia Tabacalera. It cost MXP$130. I repeatedly asked the counter staff whether it is reasonable and she repeatedly said yes. Being my first time taking a cab and sick (I had diarrhea), I paid the money to her. Yes, the cab fare of MXP$130 was paid to her instead of to the driver. Fishy to me. Perhaps, things work differently in Mexico. Anyhow, I know taxi privados are more expensive after reading certain posts on foreigners being ripped off by restuarants / hostels dialing a cab on their behalf. To make things worse, the driver does not know the place at all - not unexpected since DF is so huge. I had to give him instructions once we reached the colonia in 10 minutes. But he took another 10 minutes circling around to find the street based on my presumably poor instructions. 3. Dormitory rooms have no windows - at least the one I stayed in. But for the price, one cannot complain. 4. The crowd who stay at dormitories. If you enjoy socialising, partying, hanging out, this hostel is the perfect place for you. I had an exhausting trip before coming to DF and needed a place to rest and recuperate. The atmosphere of the whole place isn't conducive for that. BUT, perhaps, you get rest if you were to book a single room.

I liked the location, it was convienent and easy to find once you can get your bearrings, it was also easy to get to from the airport, again once getting directions though. close to centro, zocalo metro it works for what I needed it for.

no windows, which was strange and made it hard to guess what time it was (found myself waking up at 730 am, stuff dosent start around here until 9-10) plus I kind of think that is a firehazard but meh.. place didn't burn down while I was here so tht'a alright :)

El personal fue muy amable y resolvieron todas mis dudas. La habitación suite estaba limpia y es bastante amplia. Fue muy agradable hospedarme ahí. Sin duda regresaría.

La atencion es buena, cuenta con una excelente ubicacion dentro del centro historico, es seguro.

Falta de ventilador y/o aire acondicionado en la habiración, a pesar de ser habitación privada. Televisión sin control remoto.

que no me hayan ofrecido una habitaciòn con baño privado, en su publicidad no lo mencionaba y paguè 2 dìas de hospedaje y no lo usè porque me daban baños compartido, que antihigiènico el servicio lo fui a conocer por fuera y tampoco me agradò.

nao aceita dolar. Achei absurdo quererem segurar o meu passaporte como garantia enquanto eu ia trocar o dinheiro. Nao tem cafe da manha.

Me gusto muchisimo la ubicacion del Hostel, el personal es muy amable y te ofrecen desayuno, ademas el area comun es ideal para hacer amigos!

Deberian tener algunas habitaciones con baño privado, y al menos 1 TV en el area comun!

Nada. No lo recomiendo para nada!

No nos hicieron la habitación un día. Nos quedaron debiendo dos cervezas ya pagadas. Un amigo tuve un problema con el recepcionista en un tema de dinero. No confiaron en los huéspedes. Desayuno mal organizado. Toda los platos y cubiertos sucios. No recomiendo este lugar para nada. Además nos facilitan la ayuda de conseguimos un taxi por 150 pesos mexicanos hasta la estación central de autobuses y el valor real es de 40 pesos mexicanos. Un robo!

Absolutamente todo, fui con un hijo de 21 años y otro de 2, no tuve ningún contratiempo. Si hubiera ido sola o con mis cuates igual hubiera sido perfecto porque es multicultural y el ambiente es muy positivo. El precio, los tours, la ubicación perfectos. ¡Y además te ofrecen desayuno!

Wi fi muito boa. Os espaços comuns oferecem uma integração com outros hóspedes.

Os armários dos dormitórios pequenos e sem iluminação individual.

Frühstück war gut, gab jeden Tag etwas anderes frisch gemachtes. Typisches Backpacker-Hotel, kein großer Komfort, Teller selbst spülen etc.

Atmosfera socievole e giovanile, colorato e accogliente.
