Staff very helpful and the location is great.
Bathrooms are really far away from the private rooms: you have to cross the whole hostel, including where everyone's eating breakfast, which is a bit awkward.
the staff was great!
Good location, a bit far from Metro
Not clean too much
A good basic hostel in a great location. Comes with all you can eat breakfast and diner. Pool table. What more could you ask for?
The coffee sucked, so I only had 3 cups.
- breakfast was good - very close to town center
- we didn't get a double room as we reserved - room without windows and bad smell - very cold in the rooms
The breakfast, the facilities always are clean; the staff is so kind.
The parties; the dinner would be tipical food; ten beds are too much;
Staffs Location Decent size room Seems like a party place Nice bar
weak wifi in room
Bilingual, helpful staff, Good breakfast and dinner included-changed every day, Clean - bins changed every day in room, communal areas cleaned every morning, always soap and fresh towels, Personal Towels provided, Free wifi, Activities going on, Location- <10 min walk to zocalo, 2 min walk to convenience store, <10 min to metro train, 25min taxi from airport ($217 mxn)
The hostel was pretty cold early on in the morning and late at night- just wrap up warm
The staff is so kind and help us with everything y The hostel is in the center right next to the zocola playa.if we will visit mexico city again we are planing to stay there sgain.
The bad was not so comfortable.
This place offers free (decent) breakfast and dinner every day, plus a great environment to hang out. Fun and friendly staff + easy access to any city or tour information.
Hostel Amigo is a cool place to be, nice atmosphere, weird guys, but altogether clean and very welcoming. Included breakfast and friendly dinner
Classic drawbacks of an hostel with common toilets, and clean-it-yourself dishes
we were there for new years eve and they make a small party. the staff was awesome and a great party, hope we come back soon
free breakfast and free dinner
schedule is very late check in and check out too early
- Stayed in 10 person dorm which connects onto the lounge area, ridiculously loud. Had to ask people to be quite at 2 & 3 in the morning. Lots of young travellers with no respect. -Beds are plastic expect to sweat. -No ventilation or windows in room, it stunk. -We moved and found better places at a better cost. -Wi-Fi is poor, reception told us it was the same all over Mexico but when we moved Wi-Fi was fine This hostel is over rated.
The window didnt close completely, and the noisy construction site and street kept us awake most of the night...
Location is perfect, rooms are clean and reception staff is warm. Also they have free breakfast and dinner although they are very basic, a lady prepares whatever she wants that day in the kitchen.
beds are very uncomfortable, king size bed in suite is not really for two persons, it is too small that we could not move in it, our backs still hurt. You need to let water flow for 15 minutes to make it hot. Party at late night and too much noise. Wifi signal cannot reach to suite room on upper floor. I would not care anything if at least the bed was comfortable. You get what you pay.
Breakfast is pretty nice comparing with the price of the hostel. The staffs are very kind. Perfect location, it's really near to the main square. Clean and sufficient bathroom.
You may find some hair of someone else when you lift the sheet of bed, meaning they actually don't clean the room and change the sheet once everyday as they posted on the wall.
good hostel in mexico city
it is close from the zocalo. it was cheap considering I was staying in a room alone with a king size bed! It was clean and the bathroon were big. the mexican breakfast, the homemade pankakes
the noise coming from the street.
The location and the double room was spacious.
We arrived at 5am and there was no where to chill so we ended up paying full price for a extra night dispite having to check out arty 11am and weren't allowed to check in again till 1pm. There were no backpackers at the hostel, but it was full of local teenagers who stayed in and partied all night at the hostel, although they were reakly antisocial and even brought their own speakers. Although there was a no alcohol and music rule after 11pm this wasn't implemented by the staff who were hard to find. Breakfast was average. We are up for party hostels but this felt like we were at somebody else's house party- never again!
My private room was large, comfortable, quiet (on the top floor). The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were very good and the location is very convenient.
I think the welcome was very pleasant, and continually the staff were always friendly - genuinely.
It is not a dislike but some suggestions. The electrical points could be in a better position. The desk to write is on the other side of the room. The safe is certainly not Safe if the room were broken into. It could be ripped of the table as it is only fixed with screws for wood, and not bolted on. I am speaking as a trained carpenter, and with much building experience). It should in effect be fixed to the wall. The nosing to the one set of stairs up should be replaced and fixed properly. A pity that the Men's wall Passions are not automatic flushing - the men hardly ever use the flushing tap after. The surrounding areas to the wash basins will eventual be swollen by the continual water being splashed on them. An easy solution would be to tile the surface with 10 x 10 tiles, and a special waterproof cement - SIKA for example. The doers to the washbasin area, could be cut short, as the feet always bang on them - there is no inset plinth there.
Really good atmosphere. Nicely located near main sq. Basic but good facilities, would def go again!
Hygiene could be a bit better, bathrooms not always clean and stocked with soap.
Huge private room. Central location. Breakfast included.
Wifi was not working outside the lobby
The very young kid that works in the front desk is very helpful. I got my luggage kept in their premises while I went on a side trip. saved some $
Breakfast, WIFI inexistent.
