Location is perfect, rooms are clean and reception staff is warm. Also they have free breakfast and dinner although they are very basic, a lady prepares whatever she wants that day in the kitchen.
beds are very uncomfortable, king size bed in suite is not really for two persons, it is too small that we could not move in it, our backs still hurt. You need to let water flow for 15 minutes to make it hot. Party at late night and too much noise. Wifi signal cannot reach to suite room on upper floor. I would not care anything if at least the bed was comfortable. You get what you pay.
Breakfast is pretty nice comparing with the price of the hostel. The staffs are very kind. Perfect location, it's really near to the main square. Clean and sufficient bathroom.
You may find some hair of someone else when you lift the sheet of bed, meaning they actually don't clean the room and change the sheet once everyday as they posted on the wall.
good hostel in mexico city
it is close from the zocalo. it was cheap considering I was staying in a room alone with a king size bed! It was clean and the bathroon were big. the mexican breakfast, the homemade pankakes
the noise coming from the street.
The location and the double room was spacious.
We arrived at 5am and there was no where to chill so we ended up paying full price for a extra night dispite having to check out arty 11am and weren't allowed to check in again till 1pm. There were no backpackers at the hostel, but it was full of local teenagers who stayed in and partied all night at the hostel, although they were reakly antisocial and even brought their own speakers. Although there was a no alcohol and music rule after 11pm this wasn't implemented by the staff who were hard to find. Breakfast was average. We are up for party hostels but this felt like we were at somebody else's house party- never again!
My private room was large, comfortable, quiet (on the top floor). The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were very good and the location is very convenient.
I think the welcome was very pleasant, and continually the staff were always friendly - genuinely.
It is not a dislike but some suggestions. The electrical points could be in a better position. The desk to write is on the other side of the room. The safe is certainly not Safe if the room were broken into. It could be ripped of the table as it is only fixed with screws for wood, and not bolted on. I am speaking as a trained carpenter, and with much building experience). It should in effect be fixed to the wall. The nosing to the one set of stairs up should be replaced and fixed properly. A pity that the Men's wall Passions are not automatic flushing - the men hardly ever use the flushing tap after. The surrounding areas to the wash basins will eventual be swollen by the continual water being splashed on them. An easy solution would be to tile the surface with 10 x 10 tiles, and a special waterproof cement - SIKA for example. The doers to the washbasin area, could be cut short, as the feet always bang on them - there is no inset plinth there.
Really good atmosphere. Nicely located near main sq. Basic but good facilities, would def go again!
Hygiene could be a bit better, bathrooms not always clean and stocked with soap.
Huge private room. Central location. Breakfast included.
Wifi was not working outside the lobby
The very young kid that works in the front desk is very helpful. I got my luggage kept in their premises while I went on a side trip. saved some $
Breakfast, WIFI inexistent.
convinent and safe location Friendly and helpful staff (fluent english on watch 24x7) Nice events for socializing very cool bartender good price in mexico city
Lighting in the rooms are too dark at night
I had huge private room with bathroom, nice atmosphere, nice staff, near metro station
there was a large gap between the door and floor and the light from corridor was dazzled me in the eyes during the night
Very central, reasonably priced, clean, staff was helpful.
Wifi signal is weak overall and nonexistent in the dorms. Matresses are not supercomfortable. But then again, it´s a hostel and for the price I really can´t complain about those minor defects.
Location and hot water
Location. Good for its price. Simple and clean. You can make friends here.
A little hot in the no-window room. Breakfast can be better. Wifi only works in the lobby.
Hello, My name is Orel Shkalo. On 04/08/14 I made a reservation in your website to lodging for three night in hostel amigo at Mexico city. The price shown on your website at the time of booking was 94.80$USD. To my surprise when I got to the hostel I was told that the price is 117$USD. When I argued that in the website was presented a different price, I was told that taxes. Since this is such a big difference, I think it's just cheating. In my opinion, there is always the final price offer to avoid future unpleasantness. I'd love to answer as soon as possible. Thank you very much. Orel shkalo
The catering staff was amazing. They put in more into getting us satisfied than other staffs. Meeting up with decent travelers. Good location
Horrible Internet connection. It is expensive compared to hotels with en suite bathroom. Hotel Rioja was few blocks away and cheaper with bathroom. If I had not booked this one, I would have stayed there. One staff was arrogant and full of himself .he expected me to remember long Internet codes, which did not work.
1.good location 2.some stuf are friendly and nice
1.no toilet paper 2.bed with hole 3.didn't help me to clean room one day ( I stayed 3 night) 4.no wifi (only lobby) 5. noisy at night
Great location, and staff were super friendly! My friend and I booked a private room. It was very clean, very high ceilings. Because we were on the top floor we never had noise issues. I felt very safe and secure at this location. So close to the zocalo and the subway! The staff were all fully fluent in English and were more than helpful.
The stuff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfest is much more than you would expect
Their tours are really expensive. Much more than what they should
Well, our first priority was the proximity to the Zocalo and that was honestly really unbeatable at slightly over 3 walking blocks. But, we were really surprised when we were met by a very friendly and considerate staff at all tiers. We had a blast partying with everyone that was staying there and it was a really diverse group of similar aged (21-29 year olds) from all over the world. The bartender/tour guide Gerardo was an amazing host and really knew how to get people having fun after a long day of exploring the city. The room was very cheap, but still came with a flat-screen TV, cable, and a clear, strong wi-fi connection as well as an internet bar downstairs. Long story short the place was amazing I couldn't imagine that there would be a better place for the younger people to stay at on their journey in Mexico City. We had a blast.
I can't come up with anything that was unpleasant and I'm not biased, it was great. Well maybe the 11pm quiet time? Found that the best part of the trip was talking with everyone and partying at the end of long days.
Comfy bed, good communal showers
A lot of guests, some were quite noisy
Excellent location, good tours, basic hostel.
Staff not the friendliest
it was close to the zocalo, great bars and restaurants in the area. cool decor in the hallways and clean washrooms.
no patio or balcony for smokers. mediocre breakfast, maybe include eggs instead of just cereal
The location was Preaty nice. Amigo tuts representative was amazing, and helped us a lot
The stuf was not the most friendly and a bit cold towards us. The breakfast was poor, every time ther was not enough spoons or cups.
