the host/owner was really nice (David), the place is rustic and so close to the beach. Loved the hammocks and the wooden tables outside, really nice. The banana bread offered for breakfast, delicious, and pineapple water (they said juice), really nice.
it was dusty in our bungalow (understandable due to the beach), but needs a deep cleansing. No internet. Pillows smelled like wet towel. The sheets on the bed were Sponge Bob Square Pants and the "comforter" had seen wayyyyy better years, but long ago. The common kitchen needs a super deep cleansing, but a really good one, and way better pans and pots.
The staff was awesome. The yard was great.
The weather it was raining , the price was very high because it was Christmas
Everything, great helpfull staff, great location and value.
wifi worked extremely well bathrooms and showers very clean - even had hot water and toilet paper consistently! very nice common area and kitchen wonderful relaxed and social atmosphere very friendly staff beautiful buildings
because the place is located in the interior of the island away from the shore, there are more mosquitoes than in other places on the island. the mosquitoes only come out in force at dawn and dusk though. staff were a bit busy in high season so service was a bit slow
Take some time to visit this place... most people stay longer than expected and I still dont want to leave this paradise :-)
Bed was comfy, and bathroom was clean. Owner is nice and helpful. Easy to find the place. All in all a nice place.
Wifi was a poor, but once you are in Holbox you probably won't even need it that much. Kitchen would be so much better if it had a proper floor instead of sand. Really warm without AC which has an extra (but small) fee.
What a wonderful, down-to-earth, friendly hostel experience. We spent three nights at Hostel & Cabanas Ida Y Vuelta Camping and had a great time on Isla Holbox. David and his team are very welcoming and helpful. We were staying in the bungalows ensuite which were very cute, and had fans and mosquito nets. They were the other side of the communal area so there's a little more privacy there. We had lovely breakfasts at the hostel, and there are communal meals in the evenings if you want to join in. But it's equally easy to just do your own thing. All in all a fantastic stay!
The weather, but then again, nobody can control that
