The Italian in-house restaurant is closed for dinner on sundays!!, a huge disappointment!! because it's probably one of the best Italian restaurants in the country; when dining in the Mexican in-house restaurant, it takes way-way too long until dishes are served (with a mediocre quality); at the reception, previous to the payment, no written breakdown of the total amount was handed over (even when asked for); staff tried to assign a smaller room that did not coincide with the room characteristics nor with the fotos shown on booking.com for the room category (I insisted and the case was resolved somehow - stressing anyway). Jamie mentions in his review, here, that the staff didn't apologize for made mistakes, unfortunately Mexican service staff never-ever apologizes, you usually get the typical "no se preocupe/ don't worry", instead, this is a very bothering but rather cultural issue; once I moved into the hotel room, first of all a clogged sink drain had to be fixed.
Excellent arquitecture and lots of art objetcs all over the hallways; kind staff; fantastic italian in-house restaurant for dinner (closes on sundays at 5pm); nice garden (but quite small); clean and big outdoor pool; sunday morning brunch in the Mexican restaurant offers a great variety of food (in our case it included two delicious lamb dishes); the matresses are very comfortable; interiors and furtintures are nice to look at and of good quality; the indoor climate is very agreeable even without air conditioning; the windows are soundproofed (which is not very common in Mexico).
