Set on a beach, surrounded by a tropical forest, this Tulum hotel is just over half a mile from Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. It has yoga classes, massages and hammocks in each room.
Score from 98 reviews Good
I waked up at 8 in the morning and there's no water. The front desk told me that I'll have water in just one hour. She kept saying that in the next 6 hours. I talked to the general manager and he told me sorry and then left the room very quickly. Nobody apologized to me when I checked out. The front desk just told me that I can leave at once because I have checked out. I will never go back to that terrible hotel again.
The booking process was not clear and the website staff never acknowledged their mistake. There isn't a sandy beach. But this place is very relaxing. The food is very good but there is a limited number of Mexican options and they don't quite know how to do a tender steak or chicken breast. Fish was excellent but sometimes flavor profiles were bland.
The staff, yoga instructors, and manager were incredibly nice patient and helpful
The staff, especially the reception, was not friendly. The facility was not busy, and yet we didn't receive the attentiveness that we expected.
Room was comfortable.
It was advertised as a wellness resort but there were only yoga classes and a very expensive spa. If you want to just sit and relax it was great for that. Having said that we were there in low season and three weeks after a change in management
The food and staff were excellent, helpful and friendly.
Some problems with maintence like pathway light bulbs were out which caused a stumble in the dark and ceiling fans were noisy.
Relaxing & beautiful. Food is very good.
The hotel offered all we could wish regarding excellent and friendly service and facilities. The location, layout and maintenance as well as the room was perfect. We enjoyed the food , yoga and relaxation in this place 100%
The food at the hotel is nothing to write home about. The first few days when there were fewer guests we have in addition to dinner also breakfast and lunch from a la carte which was nice. But in general we went out for dinner since the quality of the food didn't live up to our expectations. Lunches were okay and breakfast was absolutely fine. Tulum has wonderful restaurants so if you love tasting different restaurants and foods and experiencing the real Tulum I would recommend somewhere else that is not all-inclusive.
The hotel area itself is very beautiful and located right by the ocean. Especially few of the houses that have ocean view are definitely wort the extra dollars. The yoga classes were also wonderful addition to the days as well as a possibility to borrow hotel's bikes for afternoon rides.
I will never stay at this resort again. I'm currently staying here and thank God we only have one more day left. We arrived to chaos on December 30th in the lobby. Apparently the resort had just changed ownership, it's now called Kore instead of Zenserenity. The general manger, Julio helped us check in and at first attempted to not give us the suite with ocean view room that we booked. I had to show him my reservation to prove that was the room I reserved back in September. Once check-in was complete, we arrived to the room and realized our "ocean view" was only a partial. I called the front desk to speak with Julio, but he was not available. The person who answered said he would have Julio call our room in 10mins. 25mins later I became tired of waiting and decided to go back to the lobby to speak with him in person. I explained to him (again) that we booked a suite with an ocean view and he basically said it wasn't his problem because the hotel was completely booked. He explained he could maybe give us a full ocean view the next night, once someone checked out, or we could go somewhere else. Unfortunately, Tulum was fully booked because of NYE or else we would of. So we were stuck. We thought well we will just make the best of it, but definitely felt cheated out of our money. The rooms are very outdated. The bathroom shower did not work and we had to call someone to fix it. It still is not working properly- only a small trickle of water disperses from the shower head. Today we called housekeeping at 1:00pm to ask them to service our room. It's 8:00pm and no one has come. I called the from desk to ask if they could at least bring towels, since we are in for the night and don't want to leave so the housekeeper can clean. He assured us someone would be up right away- well you guessed it- NO towel delivery!! The room service is HORRIBLE. We ordered drinks and food the first night and it literally Took an hour and half. No exaggeration.
it was an all-inclusive, but there were not food/drinks available 24 hours/day. the food & beverages tasted awful, alcohol didn't taste like alcohol. some of the rooms were very dirty.
property was pretty.
Excellent staff super pool, very good restaurant and bar nice view excellent room and service
Extra friendly staff, good food, amazing matress, excellent gym and facilities
My stay was everything I was looking for and more. Only drawback for some (not me) would be there is no direct beach access. There is a small beach area on premises (no access to ocean) and a great pool. If you want the ocean, there is a great beach about 5 minutes away. Or you can be adventurous like me and explore a bit. You'll find a small private beach very close to resort!!
Tanit is the yoga instructor at the resort and she is absolutely amazing. Her yoga and meditation classes are one of the best I've experienced, including in the US. The staff; including reception, restaurant, cleaning, and groundskeepers, were pleasant, helpful and efficient. At ZenSerenity, you are relaxed, sourrounded by nature's beauty, and served by top notch staff. It was truly an amazing vacation. Catch a sunrise- breathtaking.
If it had a beach .... Then it would be Wow. Home cooked bread is the only thing missing.
No kids. Classy, relaxed with activities available but not forced on us. V. Good food. Only 95 rooms which makes this place special.
If I had to pick anything, I would have preferred a better range of good for dinner. I was a little disappointed in the lack of Mexican food
The second you walk through the door you feel instantly relaxed. Staff were incredible, they couldn't do more for you Beautiful location Breakfast is to die for Particular note to Tanit for her yoga training and activities, she made my trip exceptional
No hot water, no beach, jacuzzy didnt function, reasonable food, a bit dirty and VERY old rooms and decor. We went on our honeymoon, and both of us got food poisoning that gave us a real nightmare for two whole days after we left. There are many better places around.
Good location, beautiful pool, great classes and activities, attentive and helpful staff.
There was nothing not to like.
This is a wonderful resort for relaxation. The service was exceptional. Every person in the hotel made sure our stay was perfect in every way. The food was great, the room was comfortable, the scenery amazing! We enjoyed yoga, water aerobics, drinks in a cabana, delicious dinners and more. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone.
when your feet are wet very slippery floors in the bathrooms and around the pool
most of the staff were very friendly - the food was quite good - the wine list limited and the house white undrinkable. The buildings and set up generally was really beautiful.
Food was horrible
Some of the rooms are still having minor issues and they are currently working on it. However the staff are soo friendly and quick and if your room has any issue please let them know to change your room.
Staff are soo friendly and useful, specially the manager.Swimming pool and the beautiful ocean view. A perfect location for a wedding.
The only major issue was the hotel and property was more represented to be ocean front as in a beach you can walk type of ocean front.
I loved the fact that there were several issues with the original room we were placed in mind after speaking only once to the manager, we were more than accommodated for our inconvenience. That's true service.
Although the staff was polite and had a good disposition most weren't well trained, and definitely didn't know how to deal with complaints. The reception staff was very passive aggressive when dealing with our complaints. Food wasn't great, they talk about a detox menu on the webpage yet not available. Food was greasy and unseasoned. Also has no access to the beach, so you can only swim in the pool or leave the hotel. It did use to be a gay resort, so most of their former clientele is still there. Because of this the hotel seems to send mixed messages when it comes to ambiance... for example techno music by the pool when its supposed to be a wellness resort? Finally the SPA treatments were overpriced.
Big rooms with comfortable beds.
