Good quality, but pricy
Staff were excellent Location was the best
The included breakfast exceeded all my expectations, the staff was very nice and helpful. It was so nice to be away from the noise at the end of a very long night.
We stayed in Room 101 and based on the price we paid I would expect the following: A more comfortable bed, some view (not someones house), a shower door that can hold water inside the shower and a bit more attention to detail with the finishes.
location, staff especially Gabriel and Francisco were very helpful. The bed was very comfortable
breakfast was boring and not very good. no phone in the room so when you need something you have to go to reception.
The hotel is splendid and breakfast is superb. The staff is top notch as well.
First of all, the staff were excellent in every way, the breakfast was very good and the location of the hotel very close to a large Walmart store The pool area was great to have when you do not want to go to the beach, which was close, even a bit away from AWFUL Avenue 5, how can anyone enjoy this street when you can not go without being attacked by vendors from the shops.
We had a room to the street and it was a little noisy but we got upgraded for a room facing the pool area. It wasn't very noisy but my wife needs a quiet room.
The staff at the hotel are exceptional going way over and above the call of duty. I had the misfortune to split with my boyfriend while I was there and I was inundated with offers of hugs, attention and compliments and even help to the ADO bus station with my monster bag! The hotel's location is great, free to use beach towels whenever you require a fresh one, right by the ADO bus station - everything was great. The location is also right by all the bars and clubs (CocoBongos is obviously a bit of a landmark and it's right by that). The breakfast that was included was also very nice, lots of choice and ingredients were fresh and tasty.
Such a shame this hotel isn't on the beach but then I guess that would increase the price per night significantly.
We stayed at this hotel for the first week of 2015. We have nothing but great things to say about the place and would definitely go back. The location was unbeatable, staff was very friendly and helpful with tours and questions. The breakfast was great. A full selection of whatever you wanted, eggs, pancakes, Mexican specialties. Overall this place was a ten out of ten and we will be back
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was very beautiful and everything was clean and comfortable. The location is next to EVERYTHING! We gave no second thought to go back to hotel for 5' and then continue our walks.
The breakfast was a la cart with 1 juice, 1 main, coffee and a fruit plate of 9 bites. Although the quality of the dishes was remarkable and everything was really tasty, I did feel sometimes that I wanted something more.
Staff (martin #1), location, caring, pools and courtyard.
Location: walking distance from everything, away from the noise Nice communal areas Friendly staff
Overall overpriced in high season. Except for the lovely but not particularly big nor user friendly pool, rooms are very decent but plain and basic in terms of comfort. Staff is friendly and welcoming but would gain at being slightly more professional. This is not a boutique hotel but rather a good little hotel, and advisable only if price not too high.
Although too expensive for what it offers, this is a nice hotel – nothing more. It is very clean throughout. The entrance and reception is claustrophobic but the service was warm and efficient. There are two small pools with very cold water and loungers. The hot tub seemed very popular. There are free Nescafe, tea, and biscuits available. The room was very small but with good wifi, a fridge, and a decent-sized terrace. Breakfast was a la carte and okay. Overall, a reasonable choice.
On the downside, the hotel is located a bit further from the 5th Avenue and beach than other hotels. It is also next to the municipal square which can be noisy if there are events. The bathroom was tiny, uncomfortable, and pokey but stocked with good toiletries.
Location, street view with private balcony, brand new door that provided perfect sound insolation during the night, heavy draping makes for dark mornings for sleeping in, plus garden-pool-smoking area is very private. Close to shopping area and beach. Fantastic breakfast with live guitarist.
Some rude staff, not always welcoming. Misinformed. No proper reception, crowded feeling when entering the hotel. Extremely tight and noisy stucco and tile hallways that echo neighbours walking in and out. Asked for a wake-up call, never got it. Asked for extra covers, took two hours. I didn't fit in the shower, the bar holding the shower curtains was in my forehead and wasn't screwed on... quite goofy incident there... Weird for one of the priciest room I stayed in Mexico.
1) Very private w/ 2 small pools & hot tub 2) Location-3 blocks from the beach; 2 blocks from 5th Avenue; 1 block from WalMart
Great staff. Room comfortable and clean with good design. Good breakfast in the restaurant next to the hotel (which is great also for dinner, giving you 10% discount)! Great shower! good water pressure
A bit expensive.
The staff, Pedro and Julian are amazing. Quick check in. Nice rooms. The hotel is small and intimate. So close to 5th. The breakfast next door was excellent. I will be back and stay even longer.
Nothing. Everything was great.
Free tea and coffee Big bed Quiet ( although room was on the road )
Small rooms Small bathroom Bars on the windows Not so clean in the rooms... Empty Carton of orange juice in the drawer, hair in the shower plug
good location staff friendly not to noisy considering you are in the centre of playa del carmen playa del carmen itself very noisy and for us too many loud tourists
Great Customer Service from Hotel and Breakfast employees Excellent Breakfast Real Hot Tub with Jets Consistent Hot Water Good AC Free WIFI (good strength)
Disturbance at night-hard to get good night's sleep
Great atmosphere. The staff was really friendly. Excellent location just 150 meters from the 5th avenue, 250 m from the nearest beach and 400 meters from the junctions of 30th avenue and the constituency where are good restaurants. Free beach towels.
Very nicely located hotel few mins walking to ado bus station, ferry and fifth avenue. This hotel gives u a warm homely feeling. Pool area is nicely decorated. They have a resturant downstairs with a street view sitting. Our room prices included free breakfast so we got coupons for breakfast.we loved the breakfast there. It's not the usuall buffet breakfast, you need to order from menu but what they gave will make your day. Cornardo our server is the heart of this place.
Room is a bit small but I think that actually adds to the warm cozy feeling.
The hotel is well located and has all the amenities we needed. The personel was nice nand helpful. They have a secured parking and the breakfast was great. Nice place.
Great pool area, and really nice simple but generous breakfast in the morning. We liked being across from the plaza and close to the beach.
The reception was not friendly or very helpful, the room was small and the lighting was bad. Bright fluorescents overhead and a bright fluorescent in the bedside table lamp. Construction noise over the pool (which was very cold) ruined one of our rest days, and the plaza hosted a very loud concert one night. Pillows too high and firm; mattress also too firm. Would not stay again.
The staff are welcoming and it is a quaint property. The breakfast was included and has several delicious options. There are daily pastries or other treats left by the free coffee in the lobby and at times truffles and some red wine are offered to the guests. The location is perfect for walking to bars, restaurants, stores and the beach. The bus station is 2 blocks away. Our room faced the pool and garden making it good for sleeping as no traffic noise could be heard. A wooden keychain was given to me as a gift at checkout and if I book directly next time I will be given a 20% discount!
Just about everything from the guys who registered us to the hard-working maids who kept our room squeaky clean. We loved the wide open park across from the hotel for a morning walk around and meditating in a shady area sitting on a bench under a tree. Breakfast was a gourmet treat with a wide choice of breakfast entrees with unlimited coffee. A great place to stay in PDC.
A couple who every morning insisted on smoking cigarrettes while they ate breakfast even without an ashtray in sight. But this was not the fault of the hotel.
