Very helpful staff, with good English spoken. Convenient location next to 3-line subway station means you can get anywhere in the city cheaply and easily. Amazing supermarket nearby for all food needs. Airport pickup recommended. Safe and secure.
Rather basic rooms, no closet space or bed-side lights. No guest-kitchen or drink-making facilities.
clean rooms friendly staff free wi-fi good price
Welcomed into Mexico by Javier, the owner who speaks English. He was so kind and helpful. He was eager to assist us in tips for traveling on the metro, sites to see, places to eat, and interactions with others who did not speak English. The room was comfortable and the place was a short block from the metro. I even received an email from him before the trip. Great value for the money.
The owner is very helpful. The location is good.
Hotel La Selva has amazing staff, very helpful and friendly! Supermarket and Metro in only a few meters distance.Thank you again.
I needed a bed between connecting flights and the service i received was first class. They also spoke English and bought me breakfast to my room in the morning.
Nothing- for the money this is a great place :)
We had a great time at hotel la selva me and my friend. The staff was the friendliest and most helpful that we have ever experience. We will never forget the friendly people who work there. Don't hesitate to book this hotel, you will not regret it!
best staff ever. And I travel since 6 months. Of course, you get what you paid, but the price is fair for this city. I would come back.
Just came to the wrong time, becuase they are renew the rooms/hotel
Location was good, although it's in one of the most polluted area of the city.
Dirty carpet and cockroaches all over the place. The hotel is also used by prostitutes so you can hear them at all times of day and night 'enjoying' the hotel. There are lots of noise... coming from the nearby highway and the lobby where a TV is always playing loudly (to cover the women sounds). With the architecture of the hotel and the poor sound insulation... you need ear plugs to be able to sleep through the night. Personel is unreliable and doesn't deliver the services you request.
Good value for money, proximity to metro, hearty breakfasts, friendly staff
No hot water, poor ventilation, hair in drain, contour sheets don't stay on mattress, no wifi access inside rooms (only in common areas)
very near to the metro station, very nice and helpful staff
Wifi did not work in the room, some more space to sit for breakfast would be nice
The staff was very friendly and attentive. The hotel is very clean and well taken care of. Compared to other hotels I have been to in Mexico City, I felt comfortable starting from the lobby. Being one block away from the subway station, this hotel is very convenient. By subway, you can be downtown in no time, which is very nice.
The bathroom is minimalistic and functional (e.g. no shower curtain). Nevertheless, for the price, this hotel is great value for money.
Very cheerful ENGLISH-speaking hotel-manager! Wi-fi was available in the room:) The location is great - the hotel is just 100 m away from the subway entrance, the station Chabacano - which is a big intersection for 3 subway lines.
The hotel is 100 m from the metro station and only 3 stops from Zocalo. There is a good supermarket about 5 min from the hotel, you have to go through the metro station to get there. Security is good in the hotel, I left valuables in the hotel's safe at reception, and got everything back.Javier resolved all my problems promptly and made me feel welcome in the hotel. My room was made up every day with fresh towels and fresh linen. Big screen tv in my room.
It's not easy to find the hotel, the taxi driver was driving around in the area for about 10 min. The easiest point of orientation is the exit Francisco Ayala of the Chacabano metro station.
The location is in the center of Mexico City and it is a two minute walk to the metro Chabacano. I arrived and within three days, Javier, the owner, had helped me get my phone fixed, then a sim card and finally an apartment to rent in df. I recommend the hotel to those who want value for money without staying with rude guests. It was a great stay and I even added an additional day because the tv got me some American nfl football games. Stay here and you will be glad.
I loved the friendly, helpful staff, the breakfast was great, the room was clean, sheets changed every day, the location near the metro, good street food nearby, friendly other travellers, a relaxed pleasant atmospere, tv in the lobby, great value for the price.
Xavier and Miguel, and the rest of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was substantial and tasty -- eggs, orange juice, coffee, and toast. And of course, beans. It is also very close to the metro station from where one can access three different metro lines, which is convenient. And then the place was very cheap.
The noise was pretty bad, being next to a busy bridge with traffic day and night. And on the other side is a school. Beside, my room, room #C on the second floor, which was comfortable in most ways, would fill with sewer gas (I think the drainage system is badly done) and odor was terrible whenever my window and door were closed. The other rooms did not have this problem, but the background noise in the place, regardless, is almost a given.
The attention of all staff, including the owner, Mr Javier Solis, that made me fill as in my house. I loved staying at La Selva Hotel and sure will do it again when I visit Mexico City again!
Evverything was nice. The omly thing should be a litle better is the breakfast, but I mean: it was good!
Close to supermarket and restaurant.
The stuff was so bad and the room was not clean, cigarette and dust are in the bathroom. Not hot shower coming. Really worst hotel ever.
friendly people, good place for a quiet night with a girlfriend.
The staff is just great. They do absolutely everything they can to help you, specially with language. My Spanish is terrible, but they were willing to help me. Breakfast is great, and I recommend trying everything in the menu, but watch out for the green salsa! It is strong. The best thing is the supermarket near the hotel: cheap and wonderful options to bring home. Try the tequilla "3 caballos".
The shower could be improved, but the hot water is good.
I like the owner, Javier, who is nice and accomodate to cust omer's need. The first floor rooms are remodel functionally except very noisy at night time.
Noisy sound through the night from 8 pm till 1 am in the morning. People are loud in the lobby area. The room I stayed on my last day, the hot water did not work over the shower.
nice people. cheap.
damp filthy carpet lumpy bed loud in the AM (next to a school) dull neighborhood NOT near the center of town (but a short subway ride away)
Cooking ladies, receptionist, metro and commercial store nearby
Showers not having curtains, no fan and very limited window opening, rude night keeper
Very convenient location (up to 200 meters underground), 500m supermarket and lots of cafes, helpful and professional staff, excellent value for money. I'll be back here again!
