check in staff during the hours we arrived ( 1-2 pm) the other scheduled staff was wonderful, especially the concierge. we were totally ignored for 10 mins waiting for check in as staff AND MANAGER talked over room issues...not even a welcome. Then they gave us a room that was not ready and we had to go back to reception. At this point we asked for a manager that refused to talk to us. never contacted us. No cold water in bathroom faucet.

we loved the individual palapas accomodations . So often great places like this have been replaced by mega hotels. the rooms were spacious clean comfortable and service excellent. Thw hotel used to be about he only hotel in plya but now it is surrounded by ever larger properties squeezing more and more into less and less space. the half board which was included made the experience even more wonderful. Catch this unique hotel before it two gets snatched and becomes just another mega hotel

The fans in the room old have been wonderful if they had real mosquito curtains over and around the lovely plug topped king bed. The fabrics used looked great but the air from the ceiling fan could not penetrate so we had to use the AC.

Lovely gardens, pool, beach and bar areas. Hammocks on the terrace were great. Clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast selection.

Dinner / lunch was a bit hit and miss - it wasn't very authentic tasting and a bit overpriced.

Very relaxing. Excellent service. There wasn't a spa on sight but they were able to bring in a massage for couples on the beach (great massage but very over priced). Rooms were clean, bottle water was provided and staff was very accommodating.

There was nothing I didn't like. Hope to go again with an ocean view room...There is no air conditioning here; so if it is something you require this is not the place for you. They did however have standard floor fans along with ceiling fans.

Everything would be perfect, if only Wi-Fi would work! We were not able to use it in our room.

Wi Fi did not work at all in our room. I think, at this day and age it is absolutely unacceptable.

Hotel rooms, location near beach and 5th Ave. Service was excellent. Loved the towel animals made daily by our maid.

    Wi Fi was very erratic.

Great location. It's on the beach and also on the Main Street of Playa del Carmen. Lush tropical gardens with lovely room terraces. Food and service were wonderful.

Atmosphere, surroundings, private grounds, yet walking distance to restaurants, bars. Staff was amazing.

Time of year the new years eve entertainment at the beach bar next door. Understandable but SO loud. Concert set up for BPM.

Fantastic location, next to the famous 5th Ave., very quiet hotel for this area, nice beach, very helpfull staff.

Poor wifi, no TV in bungalows (I was missing it on the rainy days)

The ideal solution for both chilling out on the beach and enjoying Playa del Carmen's nightlife. Great location, has it's own beach and it's just behind 5th Avenue. Helpful and friendly multilingual staff. Spacious and comfortable rooms with outdoor balcony with hammocs. Great breakfast served in the morning. Very nice beach area, shares a good diving centre with the nearby resort.

Slow internet connection - not always accessible from the rooms. We went in the rainy season and the rooms very humid; even with aircon on, it was still hard to get the right temperature (maybe they need to put dehumidifiers in the rooms). There's a nearby beach club that plays loud music all day long - this didn't bother us, but it's worth knowing.
