Staff working in vacation, laughing and much talk between them. Ridiculous amount of food:when I complained, they improved salad made from fibers harvested in the bush. Room is a greenhouse ... the ceiling fan circulates the hot air, which only improves at night. No air conditioning, TV interphone and frigobar, yet the price is not low .. The sheet is not smooth and should be of poor quality due to the polyester balls, Appears to be a camping shower:amount of water is minimal. The curtains were of cloth, the sun was in our face early.
location & staff
facilities are totally run down, e.g.: inconsistent hot water, old mattresses, etc, TERIBLE food (particularly for price), e.g.: no idea how to make huevos rancheros, disastrous boiled eggs, etc
Room Cristal 22 is literally a paradise! Great location, great beach, great services and room.
Nothing I did not like
We really loved this hotel. First of all, it's located literally on the beach. Our plan was to spend three nights at this hotel, but because we were so shocked/disappointed at first because of the lack commodities and lack of privacy in the bedroom, we decided to spend only one night and look for another hotel in the vicinity. It wasn't until we switched hotels that we started appreciating the value of Las Ranitas. Our room at Las Ranitas wasn't equipped with A/C but the sea breeze and a ceiling fan did the job. The high humidity percentage makes it almost impossible to be able to get some rest, unless you have either a dehumidifier or an A/C in the room. The bottom line is: the living conditions are different from what we're used to, but we would definitely come back and recommend it to our loved ones. Their breakfast is fresh and tasty.
This is not the type of hotel we had in mind when we booked it and actually it was kinda of shocking at first, but then we got used to it. The thing is that the rooms have a see-through door which if it wasn't for the curtains, anyone could see us inside. You have to pull every curtain in order to have some privacy. It also took us a while to get accustomed to the noise of waves crashing onto the beach.
Staff, especially Rodolpho, could not be more helpful or elegant. very private and safe.
The "Eco" lack of air conditioning takes some getting used to but I loved being cooled by the trade winds.
Absolutely gorgeous location.
Staff was friendly but did not have warm water and wifi horrible
Staff, location, prices and food.
The food was very good as was the service in the dining room. The view out from the main dining area is beautiful and while it was Easter week , the beach area did not feel crowded.
Our room had no sense of privacy and while it was perfectly nice and comfortable, I thought it was too expensive for what it was. The room was small and quite simply done.
an amazing staff, lovely beach, room was simple but perfect with beach views.
restaurant was too expensive. We only ate there once, and found much more affordable options elsewhere in Tulum.
My husband and I stayed at Las Ranitas for 5 days and six nights. We were there for our daughter's wedding. The wedding was held on the beach, which is a great beach and kept very clean. Las Ranitas is a beautiful place and everyone was very accommodating. We stayed in three different rooms from the most expensive in the newer part to one of the older rooms and they were all very nice and clean. My husband got sunburned and one of the waiters put fresh aloe on his legs and feet. His name is Omel and he was extremely helpful and caring. and he was so helpful and nice.
You will see topless sunbathers and swimmers even though Las Ranitas discourages it in their in-room information for their beach. We walked up and down the beach many times throughout our stay and it really didn't matter where you were. It wasn't policed anywhere.
The staff was pleasant and very helpful. Food was very good. Beach front was amazing along with the ambiance.
Only wished that our room had a tub, next time will ask for one of those rooms.
Beach is beautiful! The food was always delicious and the hotel is walking distance to other great restaurants.
Just a perfect relaxing vacation. Beautiful beach, wonderful room & location. The staff were all most helpful & friendly. Very good food. Everything we tried was delicious. Couldn't have been a better vacation. We will definitely be back to Las Ranitas!
Superb veranda, beach, accommodations, food. Simple, quiet, and safe.
$4 for a small bottle of water. Stop by a small convenience store on your way in and stock up on water.
Fantastic location down the "quiet" end of the beach, Staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Will benefit greatly from the planned renovations, but even with the decor being a little tired, we still thought we had stumbled across the best place in Tulum.
The curtains barely covered the windows and when its windy the rooms can be quite noisy what with rattling plam trees and crashing waves... but not really too much of a hardship!
- Beatiful huge room, bigger than we assumed - Right on the beach at one of the nicest parts of the beach
- High price of the room - Food in the restaurant hit and miss
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms, fantastic clean beach. Great breakfast.
Lunch and dinner very average. Octopus not properly prepared, sandwich bread hard and low quality.
The Location, friendly staff our room was great.
Staff are a bit hit and miss, and the pool isnt worth having really. Very cold and shaded.
The beach was gorgeous!
The rooms are very open to the beach. This means that there are great views, but also means that there is very little privacy.
Beautiful beach, great food at the restaurant, loved the movie screening outside at night, friendly helpful staff. Overall a very nice spot in Tulum
Bottles of water cost $4 USD for the cheap one and $8 USD for the premium Fiji water, complete rip off and enough to make me consider not going back.
Fabulous location, our room was just a few steps from the beach. The food was delicious, as was the wine and cocktails. The beach was incredibly quiet and not at all crowded. It felt very special bring there.
We thought the staff could have been just a little more attentive and prompter to respond,
nice beach location
room did not have ac and most windows in room did not open to fresh air. Also very noisy room was right over front desk and bar area and you could hear everything...not relaxing. staff not helpful to resolve or fix. hotel had dj party till 4am one night and it was really loud in room
Just about everything.
The service was a little slow at the restaurant...but everything else was absolutely wonderful.
The hotel is well located, is a nice stretch of the beach. Reception staff is very friendly too. The guy at the restaurant was a bit pushy but nice. Breakfast was really good! The hotel is going to be refurbished in March, you can see it needs it but overall it was a nice stay.
everything loved loved loved
