On arrival we were given room 6 which we spent one uncomfortable night in due to the very hard mattress. The air-con was nearly falling off the wall and only had one setting, which we had to turn on or off by flicking the fuse switch, because if we unplugged it, it sparked.Due to the fuse being linked with the tv, we couldn't watch the tv if the air-con was switched off. That evening we went for a food shop but the fridge in the room hardly worked. Which was worrying as we had chicken in the fridge. I was quite annoyed at the fridge situation because we chose this hotel for the kitenette facilitie. The next day we told the reception staff, who said she will contact the manager straight away. We left it an hour and returned to ask what was happening. A family had just checked out and we got their room, (room 10) which was better, but still disappointing because the air-con was now in a separate room to the bed. (very warm on a night) The receptionist told us the room will be cleaned so we got showered and sorted for the day. After an hour and half we went to check to see if the room had been cleaned and it had not. So we waited another hour. We left the room to see the receptionist and cleaner sat down. And our new room half cleaned. Unsure on what was happening with the rooms we left the hotel to see Tulum. Even though half the day was already over from waiting for the room to be cleaned. We returned later to a clean room. Another thing we noticed was the cleaner didn't seem to clean as attentively until the manager returned after the weekend.
The hotel grounds looked pleasant.
Nice communal seating areas.
Staff were helpful, especially the manager who gave tips on attractions and security guard during the evening who was always very friendly and welcoming! Location quite central, yet quiet.
