Good location and have the basic things you need in a hotel will definitely stay here again.
location is nice clean and new rooms are decent and bed is ok, they have A/C and TV (not a good one, but helps when you want to relax before go to sleep)
water pressure, cause its so hot and when you think you gonna have a nice showering time, water is so hot and not that great. but i can live with that staff, they just know you they supposed to tell you. For a touristic place, i believe they could be better They only tell you about touristic things, that are on a piece of paper no credit card accepted, and thats too bad when you arrive late and believe they do
Wifi staff friendly just not English speaking
Language barrier Tour company they recommended
+ Nice staff + Very clean area + Small pool available
- Tiny room - Aircondition is very weak but very loud at the same time. Be prepared to sweat - The rooms all face the public area, with music playing well after midnight and people talking. It is like they are IN YOUR ROOM. I had the bad luck to witness the reunion of old travel buddies (he had really many facts to share, which she declared each and every one as "AWESOME" - not for me) => For the future, I recomment to limit the usage of the public area after midnight.
Great location easy walk to everything and off the main street. Common kitchen area providing free water, tea and coffee. Staff were great helping with activities on the area restaurant suggestions etc. the owner is hands on making daily room checks to see everything is done. Smaller sized, good privacy
Rooms looked better on the internet. Still nice, bedding is simple sheet and pillows were okay but not great. Rooms got a little warm but air conditioners worked a treat except when the power went out my last night
We really liked the look of the place, clean design. The location was great, really close to the center, resturants, bus station. The staff was lovely and helpful.
The shower was poor, not comfterbale and the woter flow was really bad. The AC made alot of noise.
It was close to main street and Tulum and even though it appeared a little "concerning" the neighborhood walking around I was not concerned about safety. there was limited parking but I always was able to use one of their spots. Functional and basic hotel with nice helpful staff very attentive.
air conditioning was loud and barely kept the room cool in the day time. At night I used ear plugs to sleep. The curtains to close for privacy still had gaps where you could see people in the Pool (large bath tub not really a pool) so I had to even change clothes in a little bathroom. The door would open and let 1/2 the rooms air conditioning out long time to recover. Also the television was difficult to understand how to operate with the dish network and limited TV options. Single mattress not double a bit firm.
Great location - close to the main drag of town (walking distance). Allowed for one-night booking.
Very difficult to find the hotel. No street sign, no posted address numbers, and no hotel signs except on the hotel itself.
The very helpful manager who spoke English and went above and beyond to help us with a car problem. The location in a friendly neighbourhood.
The air conditioner was very noisy, but very necessary in the hottest time of the year.
The room was amazing and the shower just heavenly not to mention parking off street snd secure
Close to shops and many good places to eat. Malquerida restaurante was our favorite. All the staff was very helpful and friendly. Thank you Cesar, Leo, & Daniel.
No safe in room, the patio door to terrace not well sealed..big open gaps, no storage for clothes nor a table to put our suitcases.
the very friendly service and the cleanliness of the basic nice design of the hotel
The owner gave us a detailed run down of where everything was in the town and recommended restaurants which was really nice of him.
Housekeeping staff forgot to replace our towels several times and the water in the shower took a very long time to get hot.
Loved the staff. Ceaser, always a warm welcome back after a day of being out and about. Manuel and Ceaser the evening crew... even with a language barrier, were fun, and made sure everything was safe at night while we were sleeping. The still had smiles on theier faces when we left in the mornings on our outings. Loved being able to make a cup of coffee, use a microwave, and have a mini kitchen up down from our room.
The only thing I can say I didnt "like" would be the water pressure. But given everything else this was not a problem.
The manager was very helpful with recommending how to get to the different places. I also liked the feel of the hotel. It was very safe feeling.
I didn't love the size of the room, though I'm sure there are bigger ones available. I also didn't like the many barking dogs in the surrounding neighborhood.
The hotel is very close to the center of Tulum, although the city does not offer much at night. The staff was very attentive and kind and gave us all the info we needed for our stay. It is possible to rent bikes for 90 pesos. We stayed in one of the the upper floor apartments, you need to pay a little extra but you have a small terrace with an hammock to relax. All the rooms have A/C.
The quality of the cleaning service was not always perfect. We stayed 3 nights and the towels, the bathrobe and the bed linen and the were never changed. Both the bed linen and the towels presented some stains and there were strong signs and smell of humidity in our room. In general the hotel is OK but do not expect anything luxury as they claim.
Clean room, nice atmosphere,friendly staff.
Hard to find at night, a bit expensive ($82US including tax) for size of room, instant coffee no breakfast.
Hotel Latino was perfect. Situated off the main strip you got to get away from some of the chaos and loud noises but were within easy walking distance of everything. Staff was very knowledgable and helpful and cleaned our room every day. Rooms looked exactly like the pictures, which quite honestly wasn't expected. Hot water in the bathroom, air conditioning in the room, we definitely felt spoiled. We had no problem with noise disturbing us, we felt quite isolated when within the hotel's walls. Never felt unsafe or warry of where we left our belongings. Price was quite reasonable. For what we got we felt like $60 a night was too cheap. I would recomend this hotel to anyone. Even tried to get a room for friends in town that same week due to their situation but couldn't.
It had the necessities which is all we needed, afterall the only time we were at the hotel was when we were sleeping! Absolutely perfect!
staff, location, secure
Very clean and confortable. Staff was extremely kind and supportive. Proper price required.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even helped find us another hotel when they had no vacancies for the extra nights we wanted to stay last minute.
The desk staff was generally friendly and helpful. There was distilled water available in a public area. The a/c worked. The shower had plenty of hot water. The bed was fairly comfortable. It was an easy walk to restaurants and shops and a quick drive to the beach and the ruins.
The slatted windows don't close tightly enough to shut out the considerable street noise -- lots of barking dogs, music, shouting, etc. The doors to the "balcony" (such as it is) with the hammock didn't open well and were nearly impossible to get closed again. The sink is designed poorly so that unless you have the tap on at full force -- which wastes water and causes it to splash up out of the basin -- the flow lands on the back edge of the counter and runs onto the floor. (The trash can had been positioned to catch it.) A young guest -- or possibly even an employee -- spilled a beer on me from above as I walked across the wooden bridge connecting parts of the building. He and a friend had been drinking and talking loudly for quite a while before that. It wasn't clear if the spill was intentional. He did come down a bit later and apologize (in Spanish, which I speak well enough to understand the apology but not what he and his friend were saying from their perch above).
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The bed was comfortable and, although the bathroom was small, we had hot water every time we showered.
The hotel is located on a very dirty, noisy street. We heard dogs barking throughout the night and loud music coming from local restaurants/bars just a few blocks away.
Hotel Latino was only a block off the main street running through town, making it very convenient to come and go. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Danny and Manuel were there most of the time and we really grew to like them both during our 4 night stay here. The room and hotel was modernly simple and clean with a comfy bed and two pillows each. Our bathroom was small, but nice and had hot water to shower with. The staff freshened up our room every afternoon. The pictures here are accurate to what the place actually looks like. We were able to rent bikes here and the guys were helpful in adjusting the seats and handlebars to make our ride more comfortable. We hardly heard other tenants and felt as though our belongings were safe here. The price was reasonable considering most things in this area were similar in costs in the US, $79USD/night (before taxes)
As other reviews have mentioned, there is a bit of street noise (barking dogs, cooing pigeons, chatter, etc) and some noise from within the hotel enters the room as well, especially since the windows are open for airflow in this hot environment. The noise is unavoidable for a hotel in town so I don't look down upon the establishment for it. There is not much of a view from the room nor the side area where the hammock is, but then again, we weren't in Tulum for the hotel view.
Stylish and comfortable, close to everything we needed.
