The owners are amazing. It's a hidden treasure in a quiet spot just off the main strip of Tulum pueblo. Clean, comfy, quiet, nice retreat..

    Nothing. It was perfect.

Location good that it was on a side st. away from town noise. Big bed, extremely comfortable mattress. Very secure. Big room.

All rooms we saw(3) smelled musty. Shower was small and water saturated floor of bathroom thus reason for mop left in bathroom. In our opinion rooms were overpriced. Wifi not that good in room.

The beds were very comfortable. The room was quiet and was clean. The room's accessories were chosen with good taste, although often not functional.

Long-winded negative reviews are irritating, but so is the overall attitude of this uppity hotel, so bear with me.  Lo Nuestro professes to offer an alternative to the impersonal excess of the "Riviera Maya", in which tours and resorts allow you access to some kind of fabricated paradise.  The owner promised to show me "the way Mexico really is."  Well, I hope the rest of Mexico isn't like this hotel.  As soon as I arrived he asked me to pay up, before I saw the room or even put down my bag, and he gave us a hard time about wanting to see our accommodations first. He said, "Nobody has ever asked to see the room first! What are you going to do if you don't like it?"  Then he overcharged me.  He eventually honored the price listed on this website, but it took some work.  This initial experience made me and my companions feel unwelcome, and ruined any sense of homeyness. Because I didn't feel welcomed, other superficial problems seemed bigger, especially since the owner was so insistent that "this is the best hotel you'll ever find." Here's a list of functional issues with "one of the most beautiful rooms in the world," as he put it: • The toilet and shower are inside a weird "palapa cubicle" with the sink outside.  You can hear all of the funky noises your companion(s) make when they rush to the toilet in the middle of the night. •The doorknob fell off when I was in the bathroom and I got stuck before I wrangled it back on and escaped.  I almost climbed on the toilet and over the wall of the palapa cubicle... •There are 2 outlets, neither near the bed, and no lamps. •The hammock in your private patio looks great, but it is literally inside one of the plants out there. •There's nowhere to hang your wet beach stuff. •The sink leaked, which explains why there was a weird mop next to the toilet.

A charming, beutiful little hotel in the center of Tulum. The hotel atmosphere is really unique and the place wonderfully decorated in Mexican style. The couple who runs the hotel were really helpful and recomended various places to visit during our stay. The beach is about 3km from the hotel, but it's easily accessible by bike or taxi. We would definitely come back.

The only thing was that there smelled a bit like mold or water damage in one of the rooms.

The rooms are clean, big, spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom is clean. There is a solid WiFi connection in the room. Very secure.

The hotel is in the town; close to the bars and restorants, but it is not close to the beach. In the description on booking it says that it is 1.6km away from the beach, but it is more like 6.1km! So you have to take the taxi there and back wich (in my oppinion) are expensive.

Huge bed, pristine room. Very nice room design.

Bathroom wall has a large section missing on the top (by design), which makes using the bathroom a weird experience.
