The wild style of the property, so peaceful and simple. Great to relax after noisy cities

The bed cover smelt dusty but i guess it is because of the roof which is made of palm leaves.

Staff were very helpful and friendly and offered lots of advice. We very nearly missed our bus but the owner jumped in to action and drove a big group of us to the station in the back of his jeep! They also stayed up to welcome us when we arrived at 11pm. Staff really bend over backwards for you. Beautiful location - right on the water. Sail boats, kayaks, bikes etc available to rent at good prices. Good breakfast too! Especially for the price you're paying. Accommodation is pretty rustic - either tent, dorm or very basic private room. But the facilities and location are great for the price you're paying. Taxi from ado station should be 20pesos. All-in-all, very good value for money.

Mosquitoes! Sort of linked to location (I.e. Near water etc) but they could do with more preventative measures.

Perfect location with private dock on the laguna, lovely setting and thoughtfully decorated, very helpful staff, nice and cheap food offered to guests

WiFi only in common area. A few more bathrooms could be useful as well.

Everything was great. Clean dorms. Mosquito nets provided. Location right on the lake! Wifi worked. Bathrooms were clean. Everything was set up open air style but still clean and tidy.

The bathroom had weird pictures of clowns. But seriously, that's the only thing I didn't love. You should stay here.

The stay here was very peaceful and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful and provided many was to experience the amazing lagoon and the very tranquil town of Bacalar. When I go back to Bacalar, which will be very soon, I will stay here again.

Great location and very friendly staff!! Everything was very well maintained. Nice place to relax and meet other travelers.

The double room was really dark and quite over priced for what it was.

    very close to the lagoon

the private rooms are not really private, as they are directly above the dorms where you can hear everything. No possibility to sit comfortably in the private rooms. Shared rooms were very busy because it was raining heavily.

The location was great and the staff was nice and helpful. They also did a great job of keeping the facilities very clean.

The bedding that was provided for the tent was very uncomfortable, so bring your own. Also, they will overcrowd the tenting area. Our tent was a foot away from another couple's tent, it was awkward.

This place is really "magic" for backpackers. - the staff is incredible ; they will do as much as they can to help you to accomodate your needs. - the location front of the beach is a dream

Very nice athmosphere and friendly staff.

The tours with Katamaran & Kayak were too expensive compared to the prices in the village. The Kayak tours are difficult to plan with the times, as they go pretty far and when runnig out of wind often come back late at night... not a real safe feeling.

Thank you for Sylvia and the crew for making our stay so special. Our little hippy room was amazing and very comfortable, toilets and showers were immaculate and really cute too. Breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed the boat trip in the afternoon. Extremely helpful staff, excellent vibes, highly recommended!

very helpful staff, in the dorm next to the lagoon was enough space for the logage and had a frige inside...they offer nice daytrips and great food any time of the day( unfortunatly its nowhere written what u could have or when...but ull hear about it)

they didnt inform us, that it is possible to book a dorm without breackfast and pay less...

Great hostel environment. Free Wifi near reception area. Friendly staff. Small hostel.

Expected a private cabana by the lake as described and what it really is, is a second floor loft open area above the general hostel bunk beds with a wooden staircase leading up to it from inside the main hostel bunks. Not private as sound flows easily throughout the bungalow inside and out. Also fan in are a didn't work. Overpriced as it wasn't truly private.

The camping/hostel/cabañas is located near the most wonderful lagoon. Although everything is located in huts, it was very clean. And the lady that runs the place is very nice, and a very good cook. We traveled around in Mexico and we can highly recommend this place!
