It was just what we wanted which was somewhere to chill out with the choice of cooking and gotta love that aircon after walking around in the heat. Good space for 2 people. We got a room on the second floor which was the better rooms, I think. There are four upstairs. We could hear the music that everyone talks about but it wasn't that bad once you closed the door and put the aircon on. Although if you like it really quiet, I would suggest some earplugs to completely block it out. It only went until maybe 11pm or 12 most nights which is when we came home and fridays and saturdays it was maybe until 2am. Didn't bother us and we stayed 1 week. Maybe 2 weeks might be a bit much though.
this quaint hotel was clean, comfy, and safe! we stayed on the bottom floor room 10- had a great entrance door with a unique locking bolt. right in the middle of the busiest area. anything you need was right outside your door! I wouldn't change a thing, had the best time!will be back next year!
Shared kitchen was spotless. Room had its own fridge, microwave, blender & toaster. Family owned with friendly service.
Decent location. Comfortable digs. Watch your head when heading for the back rooms.
Location is good. Internet was fast. Cheap but good value for price.
Internet went down a few times and there were some dead zones. When it worked, it was quite fast.
Big rooms with a microwave and even a blender (which was a first on our four-month Central America trip). It's very centrally located, you can easily walk here from the ferry docks.
The wifi didn't reach our room at the end of the building. I suppose it's okay at the rooms nearer to the street. Also, if you like to sleep early, the karaoke and live music nearby may keep you awake until about midnight. The fan can help drown out some of this noise. It wasn't a dealbreaker for us – in fact, we extended our stay a few times!
Excellent location, extremely cheap and the wifi was the best of all the places I've travelled to.
A little bit of a language barrier at the front desk but that was easily worked past.
They do not take credit cards for any portion of the cost of the room. They will demand 50 peso or take your Passport. Which I did not like to give them or they will not give you the room and fear if you did anything at all you maybe charged or worst kept the passport. The rate kept changing with additional tax not showing at the time of booking
Location, was really close to beach, and was relatively cheap. The owner has a scooter shop, and has cheap (brand new) scooters. TV had 3+ english channels. American owner was helpful.
We requested double bed, and they only gave us 2x singles. Owner asked staff to put beds together with a top sheet, but never did. No big deal really.
The room was nice and clean. The location is very good.
The wifi was very weak. An other room was under construction so all the day we had alot of building noise. In the price they charged we could stay in a hotel closer to the main street and include breakfast.
Fridge in d room was very useful. Location is perfect - very close to ferry.
Price offer for scooter was not discounted at all though d guy said I had a 10% discount since I was staying there
Acces to kitchen Friendly staff Location
Incredibly rude owner (sorry poor husband - you were ok!
Nothing about this stay was pleasant.
Receptionist doesn't speak english, so if you have problem, you need to use your body language or ask rental owner across the street, who can help you with translation :)
The lady who runs the place is really nice and friendly and willing to help with anything you might need. the location is very good.
i didn't like the noise at night, very loud music that went on till late, coming from nearby bars. the first room we had was really in poor conditions. we had no bathroom door and no windows at all. we asked for a change and it was better. the mattress was really relly unconfortable though....
The set up would be good for a solo or couple. We booked for 4 people and were provided a futon on the floor....the door barely opened. This would be fine but we were charged as if we had 2 double beds. Not entirely their fault....but the booking showed 2+2 for the room.
Cramped space. Charged for futon on floor. Too many threatening warning signs. Dont leave on the AC, WE charge for late checkout, etc. Etc. We found way better choices in the neighborhood
Water in the room, private patio, kitchen, staff and the hotel cat gabby made us feel like we're home. Only downfall is music at night.
Night was loud. You are on the main strip. Do not plan on getting sleep before midnight. This is the only downfall but so worth it. Next time we will bring ear plugs.
black mold coming through the paint.
Location is nice. Very near everything but still quiet. Wifi was ok.
When making a reservation, please check really carefully what kind of a room you're gonna get! Ours had no window. AC was the only way to get air circulating. Occasionally we really had to look for someone to take care of things as there is only one guy speaking English who is in the lobby now and then. The older lady was there more often (though not even nearly all the time) but she understood only Spanish.
Apt. kitchen facility was well equipped. Needs a little more lighting and electric plugs in grooming area, felt like I was camping at times. Staff was very cordial and and owners cordial.
Being so close to the corner bar, and the Hebrew center; never was able to go to sleep before midnight or after. Used earplugs every night and could still hear the boom, boom of the samba. Location nice but very, very noisy at night, can't be emphatic enough on the noise.
This was last minute booking For my wife and I and couldnt have been happier. We aretorn and want to keep this our secret place-but not fair to the property owners and staff. Gladys and Gunther are great host and I would(already have) recommended their property to others. We stayed in the room facing the street(upstairs) and it was comfortable, clean and close to everything. We promise, we will be back!
they didn't give fresh linens or clean the room daily good hotel for the budget concious though and the owners were very nice. I did not have a microwave in my room as advertised
The staff and the owner are very friendly.
Our room : Small. More like a prison cell. Live music/Noise until late from bar next door/on the other side of wall just behind bed headboard ... you can actually feel vibrations from the drum! Common room/courtyard just outside our room with other guests cooking breakfast early in the morning. So No sleeping in after 6:30am or going to bed before 2am! Do not get a ground floor room if ypu like sleeping more than 5 hours/night. Maybe upstairs rooms are beTter.
Brilliant location and a great price! The room was very clean and nice hot water, too. Added bonus was the fridge in the room to keep our beers and breakfast cool! The staff were immensely helpful and accommodating - they can be found in the shop across the road if they're not at the desk when you arrive. A very short walk to the beaches and round the corner from all the restaurants and bars where the island comes to life in the evening! Really excellent value for money - wish we could have stayed here longer!
It is true that the bar quite close to the hotel has a very lively mexican band and they did play until quite late but we really enjoyed the atmosphere of it!
