+ Location directly next to Chichen Itza and breakfast (not included in our rate) being served from 7am allows you to be at the site when it opens at 8am, long before the crowds arrive and the heat knocks you out. + Nice garden with many different (and tagged) tropical trees. + Good (but in Mexican terms pricey) restaurant. - The whole resort might be considered to be slightly outdated by some design-oriented travellers, but everything was functioning well.

Wow I said to myself. I picked a good one. Got there on Buffet night, food was great. Couples would love their rooms. The view of the ruins out the front entry and the onsite entrance to Chichen Itza is marvelous. My guide was excellent, worth the price. Go very early, avoid the crowds and heat.

The grounds are absoultely beautiful, waking to birds every morning, and of course being so close to Chichen-Itza was breath-taking! The food is amazing, other guests also remarked they had the best meal of their vacation. We loved every moment of our stay here! Ran out of hot water in the shower after 2 min. Was ok, since the base temp is comfortable.

Location, gardens are amazing! The room is big... - Is very crowded during the day (chichen Itza tourists have lunch here) - The restroom is too expensive - the construction is old and they don't do proper manteinance - only have a POOR wi-fi in the lobby

Beautiful "resort" area with nice rooms and good pool area. Close to the pyramides and very calm and relaxing atmosphere around the hotel area. I really recommend to go to the pyramides early in the morning when it opens! Because then you have the chance to take pictures withouth tourists and get a chance to walk around all by yourself! You can pay for entrance in the morning and use the ticket later in the afternoon as well if you want to :) Nice and cheap souvenires and some of them I honestly did not see anywhere else in Mexico so take your chance! Beause Aztec calenders is sold everywhere in mexico but the maya calender is actually a bit more rare!! Pretty bad wifi (only in the lobby) who came and went. Could have been better. we came by taxi and there were no access to piste to walk or take a bicycle even though it's pretty close, so I guess it's better for those who rent a car because there is not a lot to do in the hotel in the evening after the sun goes down and the pyramides closes (4.30 PM!) If you want snacks, candy, or chips etc. by before you come here because prices are a bit high and there is not so much offered and closes pretty early. We stayed for 2 nights but one night probably enough because then you don't have the time to get "bored".

The direct entrance to Chichen Itza. The garden is beautiful and the place is great. It is very old therefor the Bungalows would need some renovation.

Great hotel close to chichen iza. Good food and excellent staff. Will always remember the happy staff that served beakfast and lunch in the mural restrunte. Great memories. My family was the first to enter chichen iza at 8:30 and we had the place to ourself before all the tourists arrived at 10-11am. All the tour groups that took over the restruntes for lunch.

A great location and it is the nearest hotel to the hotels entrance to Chichen Itza with a view to the observatory. We took a private guide for an early morning visit to the site and went around before the hoards arrived. We were pleasantly surprised by the a la carte restaurant and a good value wine list. There is also a nice pool so it would be a good base to use to explore the area. A tip, if you come by car from the Merida Cancun expressway and are staying in the main hotel, go past the first entrance for the hotel and take the second about 1km down the road which accesses all the hotels and park in the car park in front of the Mayaland. This means you dont need to carry luggage as far and it is easy to load up the car before you go round the site in the morning.

The park-like territory is very nice. The alternative entrance to Chichen Itza is only 5 min walk from the main building. The main building can be barely rated 3 stars. No internet in rooms. If you arrive by bus which stops at the main entrance to Chichen Itza, the only way to get to the hotel is by taxi - 700 pesos each way. Main building area gets extremely noisy in the afternoon when tour busses start arriving one by one but it becomes quiet after 5 pm. Restaurant sucks.

The location was wonderful as you could view parts of Chichen Itza from the hotel. Lovely grounds to walk around and saw a number of different birds. Rooms were large and comfortable. Staff helpful. Buffet was a bit of a disappointment as we would have liked more regional dishes.

A fabulous hotel in a fabulous location. Made better by the fact we had a superb room (no.22) with 270 degree views over gardens and Chichen Itza (the Observatory). Great food and service. Birdwatching and history both amply provided for. Great. Not much at all.

The location is just amazing. The hotel is literally on the archaeological site. You can beat the crowd and visit the ruins early morning when there are no tourists. The food is great as well as the environment. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated.

Wow! What a surprise! It is such a wonderful place. Staff is super friendly, they even greeted us with a fresh towel and a refreshing glass of hibiscus water. It is right nearby the entrance to Chichen Itza, you can even see the Observatory from the lobby. We only stayed for one night because we had other places to visit but it would have been great to stay longer and just relax. They have pools and other amenities to keep you busy. Staff will go beyond their duty to make sure you feel at home. Thanks Mayaland! Since you are a captive audience, their prices are somewhat high but hey, it must be pretty pricey to bring over staff and supplies to the location. A minor quirk is the internet...they have to be re-starting the router for it to work, but once more, they are in the middle of nowhere so just to have internet is quite an accomplishment.

adjacent to chichen Izta Bed was awful. The matress was soft and used up and needed to be replaced. Food was not goood and the variaety of choices was limited. We chose the buffett and felt it did not give any value for the money we paid. The breakfast was the worsrt but dinner was also not good.
