Charming traditional hotel in excellent location for central Xalapa. Food was excellent in their hotel restaurant "La Candela". Non-English speaking staff were friendly & very patient with our terrible spoken Spanish. I would certainly return & strongly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in Xalapa.

Stairway to the bed area in our suite was somewhat steep.

Friendly helpful staff, excellent central location near Parque Juarez, comfortable bed, the QUIET of a place where rooms face the courtyard instead of the streets. Xalapa is a bustling city with lots of taxi, bus, and car traffic. We loved getting coffee and light breakfast included with the room. The granola, yogurt, and fruit option balanced what we tended to eat throughout the rest of the day. Also liked that there was a coffee maker in the room. This is the land of coffee!

I have only one suggestion, and that's for the hotel restaurant La Candela: For the light ("Continental") breakfast, why not add an option of a pile of homemade corn tortillas and a small bowl of refried frijoles sprinkled with cheese? Cheaper to provide, I'll bet, than the current options, and more nutritious than the croissant and jam.

The old world charm of the hotel. Also the wonderful food served in the restaurant there. The friendliness of the staff. The great location! I;m going back in November with my sister, but this time I'll stay two nights instead of one!

es un lugar acojedor, las habitaciones dobles con "tapanco" O doble piso son muy lindas.la decoracion colonial nos agradÓ. la ubicacion es ideal, muy centrica Y conveniente

el estacionamiento esta A una cuadra. no hay valet parking como tal, tienes que ir A dejar O traer el auto.

El restaurante es de lo mejor! Muy buena y auténtica comida regional.

Nos dieron una habitacion en un área aparte del hotel, a media cuadra, que ya no era del estilo colonial.

Frühstück sollte inclusive sein !. Kann aber nicht als Frühstück bezeichnet werden. Nur Saft, 1 Croissant ,Marmelade und Kaffee !!! Vollkommen untypisch für Mexiko.

Esta sobre una vía de trafico y aun en la madrugada suele haber ruido de vehiculos

La arquitectura, su caracter historico, su ubicación en la ciudad, las instalaciones, la atención del personal a los clientes

El estilo de las habitaciones, la tranquilidad y la ubicacion, limpieza y trato

El estacionamiento es insuficiente, queda lejos, la calle es oscura y riesgosa y hay que cargar las maletas en la calle que es empinada la tv no tiene los canales basicos ni siquiera de tv abierta, y del sistema de paga que tienen, no se ven todos los canales, lo que obliga a salir del hotel si uno quiere ver un evento en especial

la comida del restaurant muy rica

De ligging is uitstekend, zeer centraal. Hotel beschikt over gratis prive-parking voor de gasten. Hotel is gevestigd in een koloniaal gebouw.

De matrassen zijn zeer hard en zeer oncomfortabel. Muffe geur in de kamers. Het ontbijt dat inbegrepen is, is zeer rudimentair.

For some reason the desk clerk put us in a suite. We didn't ask for it and didn't realize she had done this until it came time to pay when they asked us to pay a higher rate. After a lot of discussion and a booking reservation and price from your company they adjusted the price for a regular room.

The suite was one room with a loft. There was a very steep, narrow staircase from the bedroom upstairs to the bathroom downstairs with a wobbly rail that looked a little unsafe. This is not for mature citizens or for children who have to go up and down a very creaky staircase during the night.

Su estilo antiguo. Muy cercano del centro.

Que no tenían inf. De que habí apartado una suite con sofa y cuando llegue ya no tenían de esas habitaciones, que el estacionamiento está lejos del hotel.

Very cute rooms although somewhat small. The staff was extremely helpful.

la construcción del hotel es preciosa ,el restaurante y la comida suculenta y artesanal

el trato y la limpieza ademas de que al final con todo y los 140.00 pesos extra de mi hija mayor de 13 años y los 108.00 pesos del desayuno aumentaron a mi cuenta 200.00 porque según ella la habitación costaba mas. me cobraron mas de lo pactado y eso no es leal

We had a pleasant stay in this small-scale hotel in the centre of Xalapa. The room was not very big (apart from the desk there was no place to sit) and the design of the interior is simple, but it's matching the atmosphere of the whole building. The courtyards are full of flowers. Everything was clean and in a good state and the shower was good. The breakfast was fine but simple. The people who run the place were friendly as well as helpful in arranging a taxi (maybe they are not over-the-top friendly as in some bigger hotels, but their natural and easy-going way was fine for us).

On the whole we were satisfied, but if we had stayed more nights it would have been a problem that our bed was actually too small for two northern Europeans (height), and the mattress somewhat too hard.
