Help from reception staff was excellent
It is a little far from the restaurants of Tulum
Location was great, right on the beach. Staff very good.
Room photos on the internet are heavily photoshopped. On the internet they appear bright, modern and large, but they are a bit small and rustic.
The beachfront bungalow was a treat. The food was delicious & the staff were extremely helpful. The location is private & peaceful.
The mosquitos, but that is to be expected during the rainy season.
Staff extremely quick and attentive. Room ocean front. comfortable bed. Terrace in front of the sea. Cleaness. Restaurant food ( ceviche in particular and natural juice). Breakfast included. Excellent wi fi every where.
The fantastic beach, the surrounding nature and the extreme courtesy of the staff.
The property is natural, clean, fresh and is not overly landscaped. Very nice beachfront. We very much enjoyed the absence of air conditioning and power. There is a rustic elegance here.
Not much negative to say. We were looking for an off grid experience and Mestizo provided this for us.
Location, location, location. Sea breeze and ocean sounds, breakfast on the terrace, swinging in the hammocks. Super nice and helpful staff, bungalow feel, private and quiet. Loved the natural landscaping.
The bathroom had very low lighting.
Nice rooms (albeit without a/c, fridge or TV). Stunning beach at doorstep with good beach chairs/shade.
Putrid odour outside front door for 3 days was nauseating. Very hot rooms at times. About 2km south of the scattered/"spread out" shops & restaurants of tulum beach. Limited breakfast. No a/c, TV or fridge.
Idyllic beach setting with very friendly and attentive staff.
Location, Beach, Trees, Style, Hammocks, Room Terrace, Privacy, Restaurant Staff and Service.
New toilet (higher and water saver) would be nice and Shower could get an improvement. Chairs in room and Bigger SafetyBox would be a plus. Beach cleaning could be better.
great location, no frills but a fantastic place to relax and get away. The beach was nice and uncrowded. The food was good and the staff friendly.
Love this place; paradise. Quiet beach, friendly staff, delicious food served in hotel.

The staff and the beach area.
No doors at the toilets. Missing air condition
The staff is very friendly. They have a great location.
They need a pool
It was clean and fresh. The staff in restaurant were nice and helpful.
At the turn of the season - we stayed in Mexico for an extra 2 days and paid a fairly high rate for 2 nights - and at checkin - they charged us again as he didn't understand we had gone through booking.com. We were then placed in a very mediocre room next to checkin. It was very small and cramped and hot (no AC). It was clean and nicely finished though. But it was their worse room - and when I asked what else they had - they said nothing. But the place was practically empty.
This is a beach hotel and the beach is absolutely amazing. The sand was white and the water was a fabulous turquoise blue. Restaurant was very good and staff were nice.
Mestizo is located along a strip of hotels in tulum on the beach front and all of these hotels are very expensive. The Mestizo is no exception and although the location in terms of the being at the beach is exquisite the rooms in particular are incredibly basic so you do feel you are paying more than you should be. There is no ac, wifi only works in public areas, no tv (and again it is not that you really need a tv but if you are paying 140e per night for a room you almost expect it). Lighting in the room was poor, there weren't really any tables and chairs to sit on, the bathroom was average. The restaurant was good and the staff were very sweet. We lost our key unfortunately and this turned into a bit of a saga as the hotel didn't have an extra copy. We also had to pay to replace the safe key-to be fair we had been informed that this would happen in the event that we did lose the key. However as the hotel did not have a copy of our room key there was a lot of extra hassle which you shouldn't have to face in a hotel.
Highly recommended - our stay here was pure bliss. Cosy and romantic sea-view Cabana with balcony and hammock. Free bottled water and lots of it. Rose petals and towel origami done by our cleaner greeted us every evening. Top staff, especially Rudi and Wilbur. Restaurant does great ceviche and grilled seafood. Beautiful, peaceful location, but very far down the beach so we hired a scooter from Mateo's Grill (best fish tacos) and saved a small fortune on taxis getting around.
The continental breakfast (a few slices of fruit and some toast/pastries) was a bit mean for the price we were paying. It also seemed to vary in quantity each day. Perhaps they could consider including some eggs.
The location was perfect! The restaurant staff were great and so accommodating!
I thought our room should of had a few lamps instead of relying on the very harsh overhead lights. We could of also used a floor fan to help with the lack of air flow in the jungle-view location. If you want a breeze, get a beach-front room!
A laid back simple, Eco elegant hotel in a stunning location. Some truly amazing restaurants a short stroll away.
Everyone was very nice and willing to make our stay the best one. Food was amazing too.
The staff is superb! I would especially like to thank: Felipe, Rudy, Wilbur, Fernando & Edgar. They made us feel at home & were extremely pleasant, patient & fun!! Felipe was able to move us from a second story casita/cabana/bungalow to a first floor one with no problem/hassle. Rudy, Wilbur, Fernando & Edgar supplied us with delicious drinks & meals with a wonderful pleasant attitude. The hotel is quiet, with enough people if you like to people watch & enough solitude if you are looking to escape.
I wasn't prepared for a second story cabana - but Felipe at the front desk was kind, understanding & able to move us. NO COMPLAINTS!
The staff were very accommodating and polite. Security was great and you can't beat the location right on the beach!!! The last night we were there, they made us a very romantic dinner in the beach- it was awesome!
The room was a little small and they needed a new screen door.
Nice location with a very clean beach. The staff is working very hard to make you happy. The food and drinks are good but expensive.
Booked are very expensive beachfront bungalow........get one with garden view. For this price range we was awaiting more then this........all overpriced !
Very nice staff and the service was always friendly and attentive. Location is excellent and the rooms were well appointed and clean. The Mestizo offers good value and we would recommend the hotel to our friends and hope to return one day.
