grand roof top bar staff
unable to move to be close to the people i traveled with
Entertainment lame, food horrible, room service food cold, pools dirty, facility needed to have cleaning crew roaming and picking up trSh, pools had debri and plastic floating around in it. No bueno, grand Velas for us!
The essentials: The staff (except check-in reception which was very cold and started me off with a bad feeling), food, drinks, bed and pool were excellent. The grounds were very clean and were constantly being maintained.
The little things: The grounds were very large, as we stayed in a room on the outer edge, required a long walk to wherever you needed to go. Some items in the room were broken and needed maintenance, like the water stopper in the whirlpool tub leaked so the water always drained, closet door hinges were off so door didn't close proper, stains on the walls, etc. but the A/C worked and fridge was cold, and we were not in the room much so these things were small annoyances.
Shuttles to the good beaches!! Great Facility with tons of options for whole family. The staff makes you feel welcome and will do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. If only we had stayed for a week, we might have gotten around to everything offered at the resort.
Beach is sub par, but expected due to location and target demo for the resort. They make up for it with the shuttles, though. They messed up our food orders on several occasions. It's resort food, always good but never great. THE TIME SHARE INVITATION FOR RESORT "CREDITS".
Food was awful unless you like everything to taste the same regardless of where you eat on the property Overpriced all inclusive felt like I was at Disney Land or Las Vegas. Would not recommend. May be good for people that don't travel much seeing they may not have experience of quality
The facilities were wonderful and the service was spectacular. There were friendly and helpful people everywhere. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The restaurants were delightful. We didn't have a bad meal. The Mexican restaurant was our favorite. There was so much to do on site, we didn't come close to getting a full experience.
My husband had a great spa experience but mine was barely satisfactory. Not bad, but given the quality of everything else we experienced during our stay, I was surprised that it was not better.
The location and confort
The restaurant Bugambilia
The guestrooms were gorgeous, spacious, and modern. The pool was unique and very large...plenty of room for everyone and did not have to fight for a lounge chair. Swim up bars were convenient and bartenders were great. We loved the sushi bar and japanese steakhouse. The buffet options were plentiful and overall the food was significantly better than any other all-inclusive resort my husband and I have stayed in.
The resort was a bit too large for our liking, it took quite some time to walk from pool to guestrooms to restaurants, etc. The resort does offer a golf cart shuttle to all guests, but it takes about 15 mins for it to arrive at the guestroom so we generally opted to walk.
