Yeli was the best hostess I've ever had at any hotel, hands down. She was always around to accommodate any need we had, including extra things like arranging for a rental car for a day trip to Coba (and even having them drop the car at the hotel so we wouldn't have to go into town to get it.) While the hotel is very basic (which is why it costs half the amount of its neighbors), Yeli help make our stay a memorable one.
The rooms were nice, and easy access to the beach and good selection of nearby restaurants.
My trip started with bunch of bad luck. First I lost my luggage and hostess, Yelitza, gave me ride to market next day to get some new clothes. She also called multiple times during first two days to airport if they've found my luggage. When couple of days later I returned from my diving lessons, there was note on the door: "Smile Maria" - they brought my luggage. Unfortunately my bad luck wasn't over. On the last night I got my handbag stolen. And once again she did everything she could to help me out and even came with me to police station to file report. So if you look for most heartfelt hostess in the world, you looking at the right place! Room smelt a bit humid, but that lasted only first day. Didn't bother me. Breakfast was also very delicious!
Everything else At $ 10.00 this would be a fair price I went and sleep outside it was cleaner
The cabañas per se were very nice. The owner is a very nice young lady who has put her heart in this place. It is near the beach, rooms are big enough, breakfast was delicious (try the "My Tulum Sandwich"!).
The common bathroom was not as cleaned as desired. Mosquito net had wholes thus it didn't help during mosquito attack at night.
Our host was wonderful, she's very kind and we had a great stay. The location is perfect and we loved her pets.
Nothing, everything was excellent.
Excellent staff, excellent location, amazing atmosphere! We stayed there for nearly a week with my friend and had such a great time. The rooms are quite basic, but super nice and cosy, and at least the one we had was very spacious. Not to mention the people (and pets) at My Tulum Cabanas, everyone was so friendly and nice. If you're looking for a casual and relaxed (yet clean and safe) place to stay at Tulum beach - This is you're spot. Don't go anywhere else. Thanks so much for Yeli and Marco for all the help - You rule!
Good location, short walk to a few shops, bars and restaurants. Friendly staff and cute pets here! We were given free breakfasts to make up for there not being a room with ensuite bathroom available.
We booked a twin room with private ensuite, however when we arrived we were told there was no room with a bathroom available so only option was a shared bathroom. Bikes looked a bit worse for wear, so we hired them from a place nearby. Had a scorpion in our room one night (we were in a fairly open room) but one of the staff dealt with it promptly.
Yelitza is a Goddess, very accommodating, caring, informative and a great cook. These cabanas are a real bargain, bohemian, beautiful and well kept. Step out of your room into wonderful sugary sand and the warm blue ocean is just a few more steps away. Would definitely recommend staying. We plan to return soon!
If your looking for terrific location then look no further....cabanas are clean and comfortable....beds are just fine...Yelitza, Susie and Marco made our family vacation better.....Marco delivered terrific drinks to us on the beach.....just outside the gate are restuarants and taxiis...met lots of international people....lots of nice people....its all about the experience....
We wanted to spend more days but they were sold out....
The staff were very good and helpful; nice, laidback atmosphere; great for beach
Would have been good if the bikes were in working order
It was among the lowest price for being on the beach and the room did not have bugs which is really good. They had a nice path to the beach and had chairs to sit on at the beach. They also offered a reasonably priced breakfast though we didn't try it.
They said they had hot water and they didn't. This is pretty standard but why not just tell the truth. It was as dark as a cave and smelled moldy. Water dripped from the bathroom beam, and there was no separation between the room and the bathroom. The internet didn't really work. A room with a fan is usually a ceiling fan. This was a stand-up fan that didn't rotate and the front had come off of the fan. I would suggest paying more and staying somewhere a bit nicer. It is possible that other rooms were nicer. We stayed in the god of commerce room. I would avoid it.
The fact that it is on the beach
