The hotel is built around poor housing. Lots of dogs and chickens. I have traveled Mexico many times, but this was not enjoyable. The hotel caters to Mexican families and makes very little effort to help with the basics such as directions, travel options, etc. The desk staff was young and inexperienced. I did not have a toilet seat for 2 days. Eventually, I received a cheap, white plastic one. I paid for a FULLY-EQUIPPED studio w/kitchenette. There were no plates, utencils, cooking pans, nothing. A refridgerator had to be brought to my room. On check in, the tried to put me in a regular room with two beds. The pool water was green, claiming it was the weather, but I know it was because it wasn't being treated. The restaurant was closed, and because I couldn't cook, I eat the majority of my meals in the restaurants near the bay. Other than the view and close proximity to the pyramids, I would avoid this hotel. It takes 15 minutes to get any hot water.
The hotel was close to the Oxtankah ruins.
