Pajaro de fuego, but being specific Villa Lucia is a magical wonderful place to stay at while at Sayulita !
Beautiful pools. Staff
Nice, clean and modern.
Stairs, stairs, and more stairs. Also the room we had booked was changed at the last minute without notice to a worse location in the complex.
The view from the condo was beautiful. Would have preferred a West-facing view, which was what we were expecting, but when we arrived they had needed to "switch things around." The condo was clean, and had plenty of amenities. All in all, it's a nice place to stay. If I had small children, was any later in pregnancy, had bad knees, or any trouble walking, this would NOT be a recommended place to stay. Building #6 didn't have any elevators, so while they provided luggage support with a "bellboy," we still needed to tip him and huff and puff our way up to the apartment. Just keep this in mind if it's a concern for you and your travel group. It's a compromise, because the views are breathtaking from up high! Just be sure that you're comfortable with it. We also really liked that Pajaro De Fuego provided a large 3 gallon jug of filtered water for the room. The location was great - we did choose to drive a little closer to the center of the city before parking and walking the rest of the way, but I think overall the location is awesome. The beach up north of the river is much more tranquil, which is a fun change of pace from the busy beach at the center of town. If we hadn't rented a car at this end of town, we would have definitely needed a golf cart.
There are a TON of stairs, so if you have bad knees, don't stay here. I was in my 7th month of pregnancy, and it was fine for a few days, but just keep this in mind if you need to consider it for health or comfort reasons. Another thing we did not like was that the manager was not entirely responsive - we asked for a new bottle of water in the room because when we arrived it was almost empty. She did not follow through until the next morning, so luckily we purchased some water in town because we anticipated that she may not follow through. The manager did not understand their own booking and cancellation policy through booking.com, which guaranteed a full refund if cancelled up until three days before our stay. The manager of Pajaro De Fuego and the owner of the villa we rented did not seem to understand that policy, and tried to charge us 50% of our total booking fee. With the wonderful assistance of booking.com, we worked it out and received a cash refund when we arrived for our modified and shortened dates. Booking.com's representatives were amazing - they were helpful and were 100% on top of helping us make this a wonderful rental experience. My suggestion to Pajaro De Fuego's managers and owners is to choose the booking.com cancellation policy that actually works for them. Because we modified and shortened our dates, we were asked to change apartments to #402. This was fine with us, as the view was better than the original rental with Villa Lisa. However, when we arrived, we were disappointed to learn that without prior notice they had moved us to a different apartment altogether, and we were now in #602. Although it was a lovely apartment, we had already started looking forward to seeing sunsets from our balcony, which was no longer the case now that we were moved to #602. I think better communication would have really enhanced our feelings about our stay here.
The location in the north side of Sayulita
Poorly constructed--it needs elevators! Also, families with kids that we're noisy all day
