Roll out of bed and straight into the water with the beach being your backyard. Delicious smoothies & fish tacos at the hotel bar! Best value. Great bar and very helpful staff. You don't need to look further. The cafe is awesome! Chavo is the best! Makes some pretty fun lunch options and is a great conversation in the morning with a solid cup of joe.
Nice rooms overlooking the beach Good taco place and the bar on the beach
Impossibly soffocating rooms in the garden
Outside Facilities--beach, hammocks, chairs, taqueria, bar.
Tiny, dark staircase to third floor room.
Loved being right on the beach with a bar at your finger tips!!! :)
No hot water and no power during the night and how hot it got as we had no fan!!! :(
Beach was very nice/fun. Staff extremely friendly. Great places to eat close by. Chose third floor Jr suite which made the stay even better.
I loved the location of the hotel along with the taco stand and bar out in the beach. The taco stand staff was excellent, but the hotel staff were not. The stand also has the most affordable food along the beach, which also works out. There is no A/C in any of the rooms to include the suite. The cabanas are okay at night with the fan blowing directly on you. The suites are right on the water and allows you to receive a breeze at night. The price of the hotel is also the best along the beach.
The young male receptionist attempted to put my credit card number into the Google search engine. He claimed to have needed my card for verification, but instead, I caught him doing this. The owners were apparently in Vancouver. I had to walk behing the desk to see what he was doing and he deleted it. My fiance witnessed this as well. I believe he was trying to hold on to the card number ffor layer use. There were bed bugs in the cabana. The cabanas look awesome online, but there are plenty of holes and to allow for other bugs and mosquitos. The cabanas are unbearable during the day. In essence you spend most of your time out because it's so hot. Cleanliness is also poor. There are many stains on the sheets and pillow cases although they were "clean". This was pretty unsightly.
Beach is just amazing- we chose it for that. The bar staff were friendly and helpful, but otherwise........
Staff on reception hardly ever there and with minimal effort to help with any queries. We stayed in a 'cottage' which had barely any furniture and wasn't the cleanest; pretty dark and dingy, lack of working light-bulbs, toilet broke and we had to ask several times for it to get properly looked at...and we ended up fixing it anyway!! No mosquito screen on the door so you couldn't have the door open and the 'cottage' doesn't have any windows so was ridiculously unaired and hot! Lack of sockets, so once the two fans were plugged in there wasn't a spare socket. Pool was murky and you couldn't see the bottom. They state that breakfast is a 'possibility' but when asked, the standard reply was "it's cancelled". Definitely wouldn't stay there again, and wouldn't recommend it! Such a shame as the location and the beach is just wonderful...
We were first assigned to a room that was dingy, reeked of mold and had a cockroach running around in it. We complained and they moved us to an amazing, clean and much nicer room with an incredible view. The staff was kind and pleasant and the guy that ran the restaurant/bar outside the hotel was very welcoming and made great food & drinks. I'd definitely go back.
Staff were really nice however don't spk much English. Amazing location ! Very basic rooms however the location and staff make up for this ..... Would stay here again .
Great location on the beach. Used as a place to sleep with no a/c just breeze... Bring cash for food. Easy ride to ruins and town - rent car.
Needs more work to make this a comfortable stop. Clean the pool! Good luck with the Bar.
The gate was closed early in the morning and we had to exit through another hotel.
Location couldn't be better, beach, pool, bar, hammocks, lounges.
rooms were warm with only fans but that was expected, you know this when you book. Worth it for the price!
Well pretty much what I expected after reading the reviews on here. The Parayso hotel is situated on a beautiful stretch of white beach, the staff are friendly enough albeit their English is not that great & it is reasonably cheap for it's location. The hotel has a pretty cool beach bar where I had many a chilled out chat with the staff & other travelers & music requests straight of the net! There is a swimming pool at the back of the building with a few beds around it, the waters a little murky but it cools you down.
I'm not sure about the rooms in the main building but the out rooms ( well huts really ) are VERY BASIC ! I thought as I'd done quite a bit of back packing some 25 odd years ago that it would bring back some great memories & it would be good to 'rough it' again in some cheap accommodation. The reality of course was a tad different, the room consisted of a bed with mosquito net ( no blanket or cover ), one light bulb suspended from the ceiling, a fan & obviously no A/C. The bathroom had a toilet with no seat & of course cold water from the taps & shower. I'd booked for four nights but left after three for a nice hotel in Playa del Carmen. I can't complain as I pretty much knew what I was letting myself in for so all I will say is if you're used to reasonably good hotels, & over 40 you might want to have a good look at the reviews before deciding to book a room here. Stayed May 2014, travelled solo
The bartender at the beach bar.
I booked a suite, they put us in the most vile room I have ever stayed in. Smelled like a port-a- potty at a concert. To boot, the toilet had no toilet seat!. No screen on the window and the shower next to the pool outside drained right to our front door. The next day they maid me pay an additional $40.00 to get into the room I had already booked, paid for and should have been in the first night. It still makes me very angry every time I think of our experience!
Excellent place with really friendly and helpful staff. Perfect beach location, fantastic price. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very happy we chose it.
direct at the beach, good and big room with balcony and view to the sea, cool staff, pool
no tv, no fridge, Wifi very bad in the room, staff could have been more ambitious, from time to time it was a bad smell from the bathroom
Location. Price of the cheapest room is brilliant compared to any of the other hotels/cabanas that we checked on the beach.
We stayed in the cheapest room possible so you definitely get what you pay for which was fine for us as it was only for one night. We wouldn't have stayed in that room longer than a night but was worth the price we paid for the location.
Beautiful beach. Great food friendly owners Quiet location
Beach location and great ocean view.
Bathroom was dirty, no towels and no amenities in room. Soap, bathmat, washcloths etc. Key to our room was labeled with another room number, no safe in room. Room next door had drunken idiots who came in screaming at 4am. This was a Saturday night, but their volume at that time was over the top. Staff at beachfront bar was courteous and overall property was well maintained.
Staff was friendly. location perfect. taco bar and vibe at the beach was fantastic,
The staff are very nice and the rooms up front at the beach looked very pleasent. The pool was warm and the beach was clean.
The rooms in the back, which were the least expensive at $89.00 we're not what we were anticipating. They should have been $10.00 a night at best. They were run down and smelled like a men's room air deodorizer. We had booked 10 days in a back room but only lasted one night. With a little reluctance from the reception, we paid for the night and moved a few resorts down to a nicer, and more expensive, place. A happy girlfriend is a great vacation.
Location is great. Is the best value for money in the zone.
Wifi was kind of slow.
This hotel is located right on the beach, and is one of the cheapest hotels that is on the beach and right across from some of the best restaurants in Tulum. The rooms are secure, have a fan, and the beds are comfortable. The housekeepers are really nice and do a good job cleaning. There is 24 hour electricity and reliable WiFi.
While this is not a big deal for me, there is no shampoo in the showers. The bathrooms are older and could probably use an update, but the toilets flush and water comes out of the shower, which is enough for me. The part that really disappointed me was that the staff tried to charge me $50/night extra even after I had already agreed on a negotiated price for a better room on the beach side (not pool side). When it came time to check out, they charged me almost double. I had to get a manager to authorize a refund and it really made me not trust the staff. Additionally, I had to do this all in Spanish (good practice for me)! I am lucky I got my money back at all, I suspect a traveler who only spoke English/French/German would have been out of luck altogether. Despite this very negative incident, I will stay here again because the location and price can't be beat.
beautiful stretch of beach, tiki bar, friendly and helpful staff
confusion about a change thru booking.com that was not clear to staff at time of check-out. I had originally booked two nights but cancelled one and they did not have that information and were charging me for two nights until I spent a lot of time correcting the reservation.
like staying at a low end hostel, dogs everywhere which ment dog doodo everywhere. tents outside our room.i could go on and on...dont do it!
