its not the most luxury hotel but you get what you pay for. we had a huge room and amazing ocean views. the staff are friendly and the bar is great. had a great time. roll out of bed when the sun gets up.
No TV, A/C, Coffee, parking, microwave, fridge, etc. Virtually no amenities in the room. Bed was very hard. Bathroom sink had sewer odor constantly. Hotel charged for parking. Wi-Fi was very spotted and slow.
The view was terrific.
My husband would request some sort of air conditioner option for at least a few of the rooms. We know the power can be the issue but maybe a little portable unit? Like just purchase a few and that will make is so only a few can be used? We loved the breeze in the upstairs unit #5 though!
We loved everything. Awesome restaurants beach side, street side, coffee right there. Clean rooms, grounds, and pool, awesome staff, and location to die for. :)
I'm a frequent Caribbean traveler. I was extremely comfortable, and felt completely safe at this hotel. The view of the ocean from the property is "Spectacular"! If you're looking to relax, this is the place. Quiet and Peaceful.
Limited towels, no floor mat, no hot water for 3 days. Limited number of umbrelas and reclinables on the beach. No comfortable shady place to be on the beach. Only a fraction cheaper than another place we stayed in Tulum which was really great.
Reception didn't have our reservations, which I had confirmed twice. The "chalet" could best be described as a prison cell. Pounding disco music until 4:30am across the street.
The staff is horrible. The place is awful. The room you see on the website is not the room you get unless you want to pay more. No hot water either. Save your money and go someplace else.
Our beds were super uncomfortable, no hot water and really noisey street. But we got the cheap room. Other people there in the "nice rooms" didn't seem too pleased with the staff.
The taco stand and beach were fabulous! And the location is great too.
Situation closed to all
If you like noise this is the place ! Loud music until 0h and a generator out of you window for the suites with sea view. The manager who is a woman tried to help me hard to find a compromise. But or the bed was bad or i did not like the room. Such a shame as it is well situated and the hotel has a true potential...
Mouse in the room rather dirty, expensive for this quality, Owner, or manager is rude. Swiming pool dirty!! Nobody swim in them. What for is that??.
Lokalization and beach
Everything. Dirt everywhere, no towels, endless lies of the management. Horrible.
Sheets need replaced, property needs many upgrades, more towels provided, need A/C, TV, or radio
Great beach! Good prices, kept clean.
No staff present when we arrived, maintenance man then handled our arrival, put us in wrong room then put us in a larger room and then tried to charge us double the next day. Staff seemed very annoyed when we asked for towels and toilet paper.
The bar and taco restaurant were fantastic but different operators to hotel and beach location was great
Where is the smile?
The room was unclean, linen had stains, towels were old and stained. The bathroom had no hot water, and cold water had a bad odour. Restaraunt next door played music that kept us up until early hours. Staff couldn't speak English and were unwilling to help. This place was the second place we stayed at after deciding to extend our stay, we paid the same price to stay at parayso that we did the first place-thinking it would be on par-however it no where near.
The location was good, being on the beach.
Bed gave me backache. Waiting ten minutes for hot water. Noisy, near the street and generators. The sandy front yard was mostly small rocks . No light in the restaurant after 6....tiny candles, which is good that you can't see the food, since it sucked. The floor of my room was unpainted concrete, as was the toilet/shower, which left puddles of water to slip on rising from the john. No AC, just fans. No chair. Hooks were nails. This was advertised as a chalet with a sandy front. it was a concrete dungen and my bare feet hurt walking on the rocking sand. I seemed to be the only senior AND the only solo, as i was surrounded by young couples, many of whom smoked the cig. (Not prohibited). So this many smoke back home or is that they just smoke in public in Mexico. I didn't see one joint. Ziggy's down the street is charging $18 for a burger, and that doesn't count VAT and tip. The coffee booth and the taxi drive ripped me by claiming they had no change. Conclusion: tourist trap with gorgeous beaches (raked and seaweed buried by slave labor early in the morning).
The beach was beautiful tho my concrete dungeon was next to the noisy street. Hot water after 10 minutes (they don't want to waste energy on heating water, so they waste it on water. hot babes, beautiful beach.
Sheets and towels stained, cockroaches
View to ocean, location
We didn't end up with the room we booked and had been put in a room directly beside the busy road. Trucks woke us up every morning so I suggest you never take that room! I would imagine any other cabana at the place would be quieter. Otherwise, if you are planning on staying and you are on a budget, I say go for it.
The beach was fantastic and so was the taco stand near there. For what we paid, it was worth it and I would stay again.
The reception staff were a nightmare. They couldn't find our booking and when they did they charged us more than the amount on booking.com. They tried to change us three times the tax and didn't believe the price we had confirmed from booking.com!
The location and taco bar
What we didn't like: Rooms were dirty and smelly, should be all renovated a long time ago! Almost all rooms we got had some problems Staff was not really helpful or just was not able to help. Nobody speaks languages in this "hotel", at a place like this, in the middle of Tulum, where a lot of tourist goes regularly. I think, that the hotel would need a new ownership or management, who cares about it and change personal and make a total renovation. They have a nice location, but it is not enough!:-( Overall, this hotel doesn't worth to be visited!
The only thing, which is nice about this place is the good location, nothing else.
The only thing that was annoying was the light that didn't work a couple of times, and the flushing didn't work for 2 days, this was due to the storm how ever they could had fix it faster in my opinion.
My room was the one with the best balcony, sea view, wonderful location, the beach is incredibly beautiful, the staff was very nice and the bar at the beach La Taqueria Eufemia makes your stay perfect. The bed is really good and comfortable! I definitely recommend Parayso to everyone because they are a family and they make u feel as u are part of their family.
Food! I Can Eat Tacos In Mexico City, How Come There's Not A Single Shrimp In Q Roo!
I Loved The Beach, The Sky, The Girls, My Room, The Moon, The oceanA
We liked everything. Nature, price, beach, friendly staff like family , rooms , cleaning everyday on a high standart , VERY SECURE. Staff were very friendly since the beginning and we felt like family here. Very responsive to all our needs. Waking up in front of one of the best beaches in the world is priceless. Will definetely stay here again everytime we go to Tulum. RECOMMENDED.
Roll out of bed and straight into the water with the beach being your backyard. Delicious smoothies & fish tacos at the hotel bar! Best value. Great bar and very helpful staff. You don't need to look further. The cafe is awesome! Chavo is the best! Makes some pretty fun lunch options and is a great conversation in the morning with a solid cup of joe.
They moved our bags out of our room because we hadn't confirmed we were staying that night.
The baby turtles that we released at night in the beach (flora, fauna y cultura de Mexico monitor all nests and collect hatchlings to count and release) made it a very special stay. Even without that, it was a beautiful spot and I was really impressed that playa Tulum has been so nicely developed, all low rise with local materials and not an eyesore in sight despite it being such a tourist hotspot. The hotel was good value for money, and the beach taqueria was great too.
