The ocean-view room had a fantastic patio overlooking the beach and was the perfect place for our sunrise coffees and evening drinks. The room was very spacious with a table large enough for family card games and a fridge big enough to store groceries. The location/proximity to 5th avenue is perfect - close but without much loud noise from nearby bars. It would be nice to have a clothes dresser in the room for storing clothing other than on hangers; the lighting in the room could have been better. The front door and sliding door stuck and required two hands to open, but all of that is quite manageable when the room is clean and the service is good.

Phenomenal view from the ocean view room! What sunrises!!! Small beach out front with waiters offering food & drinks. The Pelicano boasts 3:00p.M. check-in however, they allow payment for late check-outs. We weren't able to get into our room until 4:15 - no apology or compensation.

the location is great, the staff is great, you have to remember for the price you are getting what you pay for for a beach front hotel. it is a basic budget mexican hotel. no problem, the lunchs at the restaurnat are good. the hotel is not well maintained. little hot water and low pressure in showers. the toilet did not flush well. the lock on my door was broken for three days, and they never reallly completely fixed it. still having a problem in that they told me they had a problem running my credit card and two weeks later we are trying to fix it.

What I like about this place, was the location and the building was like authentic Spanish Villa right at the beach next to the 5-notte street which has all the shops and restaurants.Staff were very nice and helpful, rooms were clean daily had ac and frig and little balconies. I would definitely stay here again. Maybe, the place needs just a little upgrade on the furniture and decor,,,

Came back here after 12 years. Pelicano Inn is a beautifully rustic holdout in an area quickly becoming slick and gaudy. Courtyard garden is beautiful and quiet. Location on the water and in the middle of pedestrian zone can't be beat. Exceptionally good price. Friendly, English-speaking staff. Free wi-fi worked great for me. Except that Playa has lost its small-village charm, I would go back to Pelicano. It's not luxurious, but has more beauty and warmth than what I would call 'bare bones'. I wish the rooms still had hammocks, the hooks are still in place and the mattresses are really bad. Used to put free quart of bottled water in every room. Noise from Fusion bar nearby ruins the ability to listen to the surf at night (though that apparently does not affect the 'garden view' rooms as much as 'ocean front'). Concierge recommended garish Vegas-style show, and when I said that was exactly NOT what I was looking for, instead of suggesting low-key locals-style activities he said 'oh you gotta go'.

Seaside Hello, the attention of the staff is good, but the treatment of the owners and manager is very bad, they care payment, no customer comfort, the mattresses are very hard, the days we stayed the weather was cool and morning there was no warm water, we were charged for three but got towels for two, no phone available at the reception, I travel overseas, so I had no cell service, was an employee who lent me his cell phone. This hotel was a very bad experience.

Its close to the beach, the balcony was enormous! The staff was very friendly. The beds were horrible and impossible to sleep in!! I even got a bruice on my hip from the bedsprings! And the music from the nearby restaurant was terrible!!!! It sounded like they were playing inside the room!

- All rooms have a great ocean view. - The All Inclusive system can save you a lot of money if you mostly eat at the hotel. I was never hungry and always had a drink on me :) - The restaurants are ok. - The beach "in" the hotel (the hotel is literally on the beach, a few steps and you're on the sand, a few more and you're on the water) is awesome. Water is crystal clear and very calm (very safe for kids), plus they have some entertainers that invite people for yoga, pilates and volleyball games at the sea. - No free internet of any sort; you have to pay for it. - At the bars, sometimes I felt like cheap liquor was used (since on 'all inclusive' systems you drink as much as you'd like) but I didn't care much. Drinks were still good. - Cleaning was not very good at the room: anything left at a not directly visible spot (say, at the top of a 2m drawer) was not cleaned. - One day we were the last ones to leave the beach. It was already night. When we got back to our beach chair someone had taken one of our hotel towels. So even though we were robbed inside the hotel we had to pay 15 USD for it.
