Score from 7 reviews Wonderful
Right on the beach, with a cute beach restaurant, nice lounge chairs on its own section of the beach, just a block from ave 5, the Main Street for cafés and tourist goodies. Quiet at night, slept like a log!
The location right on the beach was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was quite nice. The location close to 5th ave was convenient.
There was a club close by that was loud into the early hours of the morning. hot water for showers was limited but with warm weather that wasn't too bad.
no kettle, bed a bit hard
No TV Quiet Close to bus station Close to beach Friendly staff No Mosquitos
Service on beach was slow or better they where overwhelmed and could not handle more than two requests same time but only when I used to have service.
The hotel and restaurant are right on the beach and centrally located half a block off of the centro walking street 5th avenue. The manager is excellent and met our every need. Security is tight and excellent. Beach towels, lounge chairs, and beach umbrellas are free and available. This hotel sits on the most beautiful stretch of beach with no rocks or fishing boats.
Some of the bed mattresses were older and too soft. The included breakfast is too limited in choices. The food choices get boring for a longer stay. The garden rooms have no TV, microwave, or coffee pot, but do have a refrigerator.
The staff were good. The location was good. quiet
No TV Only 2 small bottles of drinking water for 5 days. Not a comfortable chair or room to put one.
Beach view, friendly staff in th hotel and restaurant. Comfy beds.
Some cold showers because we didn't waste water waiting for hot to get all the way to the room.
Location was absolutely perfect. Centrally located and beachfront, nice spacious rooms. Staff were really accommodating and polite. A lot of guest I met complained of no hot water however I found that if you run the water for 15 minutes it gets hot thereafter!!
Restaurant food was all in all bad and expensive. They do not accommodate well to solo travellers and kept using management as an excuse. Go to Fushion 2 doors down on the beach for breakfast and better service especially if you are traveling alone!
Great location, fair price. Get what you pay for, nothing to complain about
staff friendly, location great
loud music at night from nearby clubs, may have trouble if light sleeper.
spacious rooms with AC. Clean hotel. Its near the beach and has its own beach club. Staff is very nice.
The beach towels were a bit smelly.
The location close by the main walking/shopping street. Also you cant live closer to the beach than this! Rooms are simple and good and has all you need. Service was great, especially Roberto! Worth every penny!
The internet was really bad, even in the low season with very few guests sharing it... This was quite annoying. However almost every restaurant provides wifi so getting online at one point during the day was no problem. Also a pool would have been nice despite the hotel being ON the beach.
Stay far away from this place. ...to call it a Inn or hotel would be a insult to those type of establishments. BRENDA at front desk was rude and disrespectful. Rooms smelled of mildew. Right on the beach, but this place is a dump. Even a hostile would be better than this place.
Right on the beach and 5th avenue, good breakfast.
Bathroom not good conditions, no tv.
Friendly staff (was not their mistake)
- No telephone in the room - No hot water (you must go to lobby - again no telephone in the room - and say to switch on hot water). I guess this is to save costs so they leave the water heater off until someone complains - No TV but a small 14 inch pc monitor (has been a long time seeing such a small screen) - Water flood 2nd day (water came up to bedroom and many cloths all wet) - 3rd day no water for 8 hours - Manager seems not interested in complains (there were many complains about the missing water) - the pictures on Booking.com are possible from a certain angle BUT do not reflect the real room quality. The beach is dirty and with stones. The rooms are poor and overpriced. The worst experience and I can only hope that nobody else will book there so the management will think twice to improve the quality.
Close to everything. Beach, restaurants, shops. They arranged perfect whale shark adventure. I'm a veteran traveler and I love going to Playa. This was a small relaxing inn. Perfect
The bathroom window was missing joulleses so light from hall shown in room and noise from inside going out and outside could be heard. Room was at end so it wasn't too bad. I taped paper up to block light.
Gracious staff, beautiful garden, price for the location
Too many steps to 3rd floor!
the location, nice, clean and large rooms, very nice food in theresturant
there is difernce between ocwan view rooms and front view rooms!!!!
The location was awesome!
There's nothing I didn't like
It's on the beach. In that way, it's a great location.
There was very loud bad music played live by a band nearby until very late that night (Saturday). In that way, it was a bad location.
The location is perfect.
The breakfast could be more variety.
Fish tacos w/ a Carona beer for lunch here on the beach was really nice…It is very touristic, but the shopping and restaurants are incredible in Playa del Carmen!
Overall, I was highly disappointed…with the misleading comments of others on your site and as well, the hotel photos.-It appeared to be a truly beautiful, rustic posada online, but in truth, was a somewhat run-down, over-priced, typical hotel. I checked around, once there and my room already paid for(w/ no chance of escape), and there were places much cheaper that had breakfast included, w/ tv-wifi, far cleaner and on the real beach! By the way, this part of Playa del Carmen has almost no beach….just a rocky shore. I couldn't even open the lock on my door as I was leaving….I came in w/ an open mind, all be it, hopes high, looking for a future honeymoon place with my fiancé, but learned my lesson. I won't rely only on the online reviews, but visit firsthand and talk w/ the people.(I am an American teacher who speaks Spanish fluently.) I know this is a needed source for many foreigners far away, but not for me.
Location and price
Staff was pleasant and helpful and the location was great. The beach is steps away and the restaurant bar serves tasty cold drinks. The grounds were well manicured. Am I complaining, nope. It was cheap and the wifi worked well. I wouldn't stay here for any long period of time, but a night is doable.
But the rooms are horrendous at best. The beds are essentially a piece of foam that should have been burned a decade ago. The bathroom is where souls go to die. The refrigerator smells like mold. Nothing appeared to have been maintained in the rooms.
