The food there was great - esp the fish tacos! The rooms were quite rustic but very cool and nicely designed. Jose was really helpful!

The sewerage smell was not ideal... however I think that wasn't unique to this hotel, but rather Tulum in general.

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Food and drinks are great and the complimentary continental breakfast was a wonderful treat.

The only downside to the hotel is the lack of overhead fans or a/c systems in the bungalows. I thought that bottled water would be provided during our stay but they only give you a small bottle each day, so I'd recommend getting it down the road from the corner store. Additionally, as it's nestled partially in the jungle be prepared for Mosquitos (nets are provided in the room) during all seasons.

Hotel was simple but very mexican. Rooms lovely and beach was wonderful. We were there with family for a wedding so it was a great gathering place. Food was very good at lunch so was the local drinks . Would go back there for just a holiday.

Breakfast were so boring. Fruit was tasteless and they needed more variety. Staff were very slow and sometimes just forgot everything.

The most beautiful panoramic view of the sea from our bed, which made us feel like we were floating on a cloud, we had a jawdrop moment when we first entered our room the view was so spectacular

receptionist was decidedly surly, not the warmest of welcomes, the other hotels we stayed at along this stretch of beach did much better. Also, bar and restaurant tended to close quite early and was rather quiet compared to others

The location was amazing. Definitely one of the best beach hotels in Tulum. Many of the beaches are very rocky or have seaweed everywhere but Playa Azul has soft sand and they groom the beach regularly.

It was a bit overpriced I think. Nothing outrageous but essentially not any cheaper than New York City (where we live). I would still go back though!
